Manger's Guide to Social Media Management by Scott Klososky provides a lot of useful information for manager's who are working with integrating social media into the workplace.

One of the aspects of this book that I really like is the historical background given on how technology evolved to 2.0. There are also some good tips that can be used in any organization.

The one criticism that I have of this particular book is the lack of true insight on how Boomers use technology and social media. There are frequent mentions of "older people" being out of touch with the latest social media trends. I find this to be rather incorrect in many cases because there are a lot of Boomers still in the workforce and our ability to adapt to technological change is really short changed by assumptions. This particular author does not seem to realize that it is the Boomer generation has seen the evolution of technology during the course of our time. We have had to learn many different types of technology. To just blanket a generation of people as mystified about what is current in terms of social media usage is only an indication that there is either not enough research available to help clarify how we use technology or the author managed to successfully defend his position with the editor of this publication.

Overall this is a good resource book for individuals who are faced with implementing social media usage in the workplace. I found it to be helpful as an individual who is moving into this particular field as a career choice. There are perspectives that I feel can and should be applied by organizations and businesses who are either using social media or making plans to start using the network approach.
