This is the eighth book in the Wingman series, first published under the men's adventure label by the now-defunct Zebra company in the early days of the first Bush administration. The books are silly, pulpish adventures, certainly not for everyone but I found them to be a whole lot of fun. This one is no exception, as Hawk and his pals fly impossible missions with impossible machines against impossible odds.

The Wingman books are always a fun read. They are fast, easy to get into and stay exciting. You can always count on Hawk Hunter to face unimaginable odds and find a way to win in the end. This book continues his quest for his F-16XL plane and, even with a brief reunion, the search for his ever kidnapped Dominique.
This book leaves you on a cliff hanger as Hawk heads out after our enemies, possible nerve to be heard from again…until he miraculously survives and saves the day again in the end. Looking forward to another epic adventure and dog fight for his country and Dominique.

I continue to really enjoy the Wingman series and look forward to the next book #9 in the collection. While a bit over the top fiction, there is a sense of reality of what could happen to America in real time if the country continues in the direction it seems to be heading. While somewhat out of sync with the overall reviews, I rate books on my personal enjoyment and gave it four and a half stars.
