What a silly, stupid, and pointless book.

... And I actually stayed up late reading that drivel because I could not put it down.

Seriously, this was a lot of fun! It was very silly and pretty darn pointless, but let's be real... it's a book about this cat who swaps bodies with a lady, both of which who have murderous crazy people after them. What I liked most about this book is that it didn't pretend to be anything more than what it is - just a cute little fun break from reality. There was no trying to explain how it happened or how it could be undone or anything like that. It just was.

Silly. Sassy. While I found the character of Sorcha to be a little annoying and a bit whiny but uh, well, she did get turned into a cat. However, Belle made me want to stab my eyes out with a spoon at times. The neediness and stuck-up-ed-ness really got on my nerves. Yeah, she likes tuna. Move on. Having said that, I also really loved the characters. Yes, that leaves me quite confused. They were very much "love to hate" type of characters.

The author's writing was fantastic, I didn't feel bored or felt like it went on too long at any given point in the book. I also loved that I didn't see any glaring errors (yes, yes, yes, I know, silly pet peeve).

Overall, this was a breath of fresh air. There is absolutely no way I would have picked this book up on my own had the author not contacted me and asked me to review it. In fact, this actually went in my secondary "probably not going to bother reading" pile for reviews. I guess it just goes to show that it's always worth a second look. I simply grabbed this one because I knew it would be light and I could easily put it down. Yeah, not so much. Sucked me in a bit. It still was easy to put down, but it was interesting enough to get me to pick it back up when I sat down to read again.

This book is recommended to people that don't take their literature too seriously. It's reading. It should be downright fun sometimes.

I've just begun reading this book and, already, I think it's fabulous and funny! Terrific characterizations and an intriguing premise keep me looking forward to more.

ETA: This book is just delightful!! The characters and the comedy kept me reading, even during an intensely busy time. More to come soon, as far as a full review, but I highly recommend this story and look forward to more by Ms. Ramer!

Review:
I fell in love with CATTITUDE immediately. The witty and utterly delightful internal monologue of cat Belle just grabbed my attention and made me anxious to find out what would happen next. When work forced me to take a break from reading, I kept thinking about the story, wondering how the different threads might play out until I could snatch a few moments to read again.

I knew from the book's summary that a cat was switching bodies with a woman psychic on the run, so I expected bad guys (or bad girls, as was also the case here) to create complications. What I didn't expect was how much heart and warmth I would find between the pages, especially as the story progressed. The parallel tale of the psychic who inhabited Belle's body and the lonely little girl who found her was truly touching to me, and the romance between Belle in human form and her former owner made me grin irrepressibly. The author has created a unique, humorous and fast-paced tale of cat and mouse -- er, cat and human -- but that cat couldn't have been a more fully developed character had she been a 3-D living creature. I just loved her! I didn't want to leave Belle's mind or the tremendously fun world author Ramer penned for us.

Definitely make time to read this gem of a story!

Good mystery, very sweet romance with lots of humor. If you love cats you need to try this book. There is a great cast of characters to enjoy. This is a fun and light read not for those who takes their story serious. I would recommend this to PNR reader that likes their stories light on the sexual side.

This book is for people that wouldn’t mind a cat swapping souls with a human and for that cat to use that body *clears throat* for things LOL.
I found Belle very witty, smart and possessive to Max. Then I found it weird for her as a cat to be checking out Ted’s junk, so like I was saying you’d have to have a taste for this book. If you can get past the cat swapping with human you'll find a sweet and humorus romance.

The downside for me was at times I found it corny.

Belle is happy with her life as a cat, she lives with her owner Max and is adored by him and his brother & sister. She rules the roost as all cats do and is fed, petted and fussed over on demand - it's a cats life! When she is in an accident and exchanges bodies with a human she is horrified with her new hairless, clumsy body and wants nothing more than to go back to her life as a cat. However with more than one person out to get her she is going to have to use all her cat wiles to make sure her human body survives long enough for her to change back into a cat. As she tries to find out what is going on she becomes closer to Max realising she has feelings for him that she never felt when she was a cat. Will she decide to remain human so that her and Max can be together? And if she does what will happen to the human who is now trapped in her old body?

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from Cattitude, I love cats so on the one hand I was really looking forward to it but I was a bit unsure about the whole idea of a cat becoming a human and falling in love with a man. I just wasn't sure how well it would work & if it would be easy to relate to Belle. I have to say I was impressed with this story & thought Edie Ramer did a fantastic job.

Belle is a wonderful character and Edie has perfectly captured the essence of a cat in her - Belle's attitude to life & humans reminded me of my cats so many times. I loved watching Belle adjust to life in a human body - everything she knows about humans comes from the way she has been adored by the family who rescued her and from watching TV with them so she has some very funny ideas about how things work.

The supporting characters are all well written and really help to make the story. I really loved Max and his family and even the bad guys are well rounded so you find out more about why they act the way they do. Sorcha (the woman who ends up in Belle's cat body) could be a little irritating at times but then again she has just been switched into a cats body without being given a choice in the matter so I guess it was understandable and I really liked the way there is a happy ending for her as well as for Belle.

Cattitude is a sweet romance that will have you laughing out loud and is a must for any cat fans. The story is light hearted, comes with a great cast of characters and an amusing tale that will keep you turning the pages and leaving you wanting more. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try and am looking forward to seeing what Edie Ramer comes up with in the future.

From Lilac Wolf and Stuff

It's a body switch story, except it's between a human woman (who happens to be psychic) and a female cat. Belle, the cat, who finds she generally dislikes how complicated it is to be human. I love that she doesn't let anyone get to her, and continues to come and go as she pleases and does what she wants, she stays very catlike in attitude. Highlight of being human? Learning to use the can opener so she can eat tuna anytime. Also she learns how to read and gets sucked into Harry Potter. As someone who is reading them for the 3rd time, I see how that can happen. lol

Sorcha, finds that she kind of likes being a cat. It's quiet; in the switch, her powers fizzle out and she has silence in her mind for the first time in her life. She also finds a little girl who loves her unconditionally and truly needs her.

Edie keeps the suspense up in this story because not only are you unsure about them switching back, which both generally want to do, but Sorcha has people who want to kill her. Well, technically one of them wants to kill Belle who is in Sorcha's body, but you'll have to read the tale to figure that one out.

And I would say that is also contains the strong female lead and a man who doesn't care that she's strong. And this is odd, because he's a man who is used to taking care of people.

I can now say, without a doubt, I am an Edie Ramer fan!

This is one of the multitude of ebooks on my To Be Read list that have sat for a couple of years or more before cracking it open and diving in. After reading another book that also released free from Edie Ramer that involved animal characters as the focal point to the story was really looking forward to this book.

Belle as a cat is pretty predictable, as a human female once she switches bodies with Sorcha she is totally outrageous but in a good way.

The romance elements take place very few and far between but the humor, the intensity and the overall feel of the story is one that is very easy to lose yourself in for long periods of reading time.

Not only was this entertaining but it was thought provoking in the what if manner of thinking about all the ramifications of a cat becoming human somehow and what it would take to learn how to survive in the two legged world rather than the four legged one.

Not earth shattering reading but a great way to escape real life and just enjoy reading for the sake of reading!

Great fun story. Kept me wondering how it could work out until the very end.

This seemed like a cute premise - a woman and a cat trade bodies. However that was pretty much it. The plot was thin and it was a very cheesy romance. I don't like romance novels so I can't really harsh it on that score, but I thought the whole thing was very lame. Luckily it was a fast read so I didn't waste much time on it.

Poorly written

While the concept was very good it was a painfully slow read. Let me list some problems.

1. Lots of cliched phrases. Just too many. And there were times were those cliches were followed up with explanations in case the reader didn't "get it"

2. Too many viewpoints!!

What bothered me more was that towards the end there were new characters introduced which is a no-no when it comes to writing. But by the time I got to the end I just glossed over these viewpoints because they were easily forgettable.

3. One dimensional characters

None of the characters had real depth to them. Max is that stereotypical boy scout superman can do no wrong type of dude. Plus it seems his hair color changed. In one part of the book I'm thinking he had brown hair, but towards the end it mentioned he was a ginger. Very confusing.

Caroline is by far the worst villain I've ever read. She's dumb and poorly written. Her mum is just as bad. Neither of these women felt real. Her motives were as obvious as water running from a faucet. It shouldn't be so evident that even Max knew her motives as much as the reader did. Caroline had no redeeming qualities and was a straight up bitch start to finish.

Belle was naive which is understandable with her being a cat and all. But she was very, very flat as a character and also kinda catty (no pun intended) for no real reason at all. The way that her and Caroline's mutual dislike for each other could have been handled better.

Phil/Bob are very forgettable and honestly, I often got their characters confused with one another at times.

4. Rushed conclusion

The action leading up to the conclusion was rushed and messy. Also, I have an issue with how Caroline was shot. Given the location she was shot at the bullet should have realistically entered her heart and/or jugular being fatal. End of story. The reactions to her being shot wasn't real. While I've never been shot myself I had a hard time believing this scene.

The rest of the characters can be summed up as straight up bitches with no redeeming quality (sniff sniff Katie, Rose) or as a simple everyman (Ted, Phil, Fletcher)

I understand the book was meant as a fun, light read, but the book reads like the first or second draft (book clearly needed more revision) was published straight to market. Whoever edited this book and gave it an OK to be published wasn't doing a good job that day.

I also have a problem with the body switch never ever being explained. And the ending was fairly predictable.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Belle has a cat’s dream life next to her lovely owner Max, but when evil Caroline set her eyes on Max and his wallet Belle knows she has to do anything in her paws to stop her advances. Caroline knows that Belle is an obstacle in her plans to get Max and decides to get rid of Belle throwing her onto a speeding car on the road.
Sorcha is a psychic who got involved with the wrong man, while trying to escape from him she gets into a car accident with a cat, a cat that came out of nowhere to her windshield. After the accident something even freakier occurs, Sorcha and Belle the cat exchange bodies. Scared in her new cat-body Sorcha escapes to the forest, leaving Belle in her human body behind.
Max is returning back home and sees the accident on the side of the road, immediately he stops to help, he founds Sorcha/Belle who begs him not to take her to the hospital, in the spur of the moment Max decides to take her to his house.
Belle is in shock, she knows Caroline tried to kill her but she doesn’t understand what had happened and why she is in a human body. Belle doesn’t like her new hairless, graceless body; she wants her feline body back. Belle needs to find Sorcha soon, before it’s too late to change back. The questions are: will Sorcha want her body back? And after seeing how Max is looking at her, will Belle want to be her old self again? or will she give it a chance to be human and maybe be more to Max that just his pet?

As you may have guess I’m a cat person, I have a beautiful cat and saw many of her characteristics reflected in Bella, making this book more enjoyable and at the same time a little bit creepy.

Mrs. Ramer does an excellent job with Belle; it is obvious she knows about cats and their behaviors. Belle is funny, smart and of course with tons of attitude, she is a cat, what else can you expect.
I loved how real Belle’s adaptation to her new body felt, same with her discovery of new things as food and books. I also loved how she may be in a human body but she is still a cat to the core.

Wishing she could show her unconcern by lifting her leg and licking her thigh, she settle for giving him her I’m-a-cat-and-you’re-not look.

Max is cute and caring. Since the dead of his father when he was just barely a teenager he has become the protector of his family and now of course of Sorcha/Belle too.

“Are you coming” Max asked.
She glided past him, out of the room. “I have important things to do.” She glance back to make sure he wouldn’t pounce and grab her the way he did when he wanted to take her to the vet.
Even Max wasn’t perfect.

Max is attracted to Sorcha/Belle and her carefree outlook in life. Sorcha/Belle is discovering new and unexpected feelings for Max, it’s almost as if her new human body is betraying her into feeling things she shouldn’t be feeling for Max.
Max-Sorcha/Belle relationship was a bit creepy because at the end she is a cat in a human body but if you can overlook that little detail you will find them perfect for each other.

The secondary characters all add something to the story, from Sorcha the psychic, now in Belle’s body to the little girl Gwen, who is taking care of her and giving her the love and protection Sorcha had never had. To Max siblings Ted and Tory and of course I can’t leave behind Phil the not-so bad guy.

My final thought: Cattitude is a very funny and well-written romance story, with a nice pace and entertaining characters. The story has some twist and turns and many laughing out loud moments. All this together made of Cattitude a very enjoyable and difficult-to-put-down book.
I recommend Cattitude to all cat lovers and to anyone who wants to read an easy and funny chick-lit novel.

At first, I had issues with the way characters were kinda put out there right out the gate. It was not a bad thing, it had more to do with me and my recent reading habits. I have been reading two person books... maybe three... So, I was not in the frame of mind to read and remember all these characters. I actually put it down for a little while. Okay... it was only like for about an hour because I simply had to know what happened to Belle and Max. Ms. Edie did an awesome job of roping me in! And I am very happy to report that I am very glad I kept reading.... This truly is a delightful read!

I have to say this is a very interesting book. Ms. Edie kept me guessing what the hell was going to happen next, who was going to do what or when they would do it. I mean I literally could not put the book down once I wrangled in all the characters and knew who was who and what or who they were after.

And I really do not want to give away too much... because one tip off and a spoiler would slip out (I promise). So, I will leave you with this...

Belle is sassy, funny, honest and a cat or was a cat. She is unlike any.... woman you'll ever meet. But believe me when you get to know her - cat or woman - you will want her to be on your side. And her love for Max is very ferocious!

Max, oh man oh man... Max! **Happy dance and girlie parts happy too** He is the oldest in his family. Ted and Tory are his younger siblings. Their father passed away when Max was approaching his teenager years. Leaving him with the last works along the line of "take care of them Max." Ummm, I am not sure about you, but those are some big shoes to fill. So from that point on forward, Max had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Always helping out everyone, giving of himself, giving up for others to have. Oh and did I mention that he is also a multimillionaire. So you can only imagine every woman and their Mama's would be after him.

Now let's meet Caroline. OMG.... she is a bitch and she deserves everything she gets and more in my opinion. She was married to Max's cousin. But he met an untimely death and he leaves Caroline broke. That is all I can say about her without giving her character away. Oh, I will say she definitely adds to the drama!!!

Ted and Tory are Max's siblings and I would love to see them get their own story (hint... hint...)! Ted is the younger brother by seven years and let's just say that he never hides what is on his mind.... and you might find it hard to believe how much he thinks of sex, lmbo! He is regarded as the fun loving brother, the one who really smiles!
Now Tory is the baby sister. She moved away to sprout her wings and grow! She is striving to become an actress in New York. But when the crap hits the fans at Max's house... Tory comes down to investigate for herself (and her Mom paid for her plane tickets, lol)!

Sorcha is a psychic that someone wants dead. After witnessing the death of her finance, the killer is on her heels (oh I should say wheels).... Sorcha wrecks her car and in that one instance..... her life is drastically changed. For the better or the worst... only Sorcha knows!

There are a few more characters for you to meet and they all add their own spice to the story! Ms. Edie truly kept me reading, cheering, holding my tears and breath back and giggling throughout the whole book! This is truly an entertaining, heart warming, very delightful book!
Ms. Edie did an awesome job with this one and I will waiting for more!!!

This book is for all the cat owners who have ever looked at their cats and wondered, "What is that cat thinking?" Here is you chance to find out. On a lonely road just a short walk from Max Brannigan's house, Sorcha Anders is running from a murderer when Max's Cousin's murderous widow throws his cat Bella into the windshield of Sorcha's car, hoping to kill the cat she feels is trying to interfere with her hopes of getting Max to notice her. Bella can feel her life ebbing she pleads I want to live. When Sorcha tumbles from the car she pleads to God to take her and spare the cat.

God must have been listening because as Max and his brother are returning from helping his mother with her stalled car he nearly runs off the road to avoid a woman as she stumbles onto the road into the path of his car. As he heads back to his car he sees a gray mass not far from the woman's car and thinks it must be a squirrel because his cat is home safe. The woman in his arm drapes all over him but will not answer any of his questions. Does she understand English? Was she hurt in the crash? When he mentions taking her to the hospital she runs.

Belle doesn't know what happened or how but she wants her body back and out the furless human one. Sorcha isn't sure how she ended up in the body of the cat that was thrown at her car. The last thing she remembers is looking into the eyes of a dying cat knowing she could not see another living creature die and begging God to let her die instead. Now she is hiding knowing the cat must be in her body. She can not let the two men coming towards her catch her before she finds her body and switches back.

What ensues is a hilarious story as Max struggles to get out from under the mantel of being responsible for everyone in his family, Sorcha and Bella try to figure out how to get back into their own bodies and yet stay alive as killers try to keep them from telling anyone what they know. I have loved reading Cattitude. Edie Ramer is a wonderful author that always brings a smile to my face and a life in my spirits when I read one of her books and this one is no exception. She uses humor make you fall in love with the characters. Bell, the cat, whether in a her cat body or the human borrowed one depicts every cat I was blessed to call owner in my lifetime. She quickly became my favorite character, even though Max, Ted Sorcha, and Tory are well written and very believable. You will cry for and with Gwen. There will be characters that make your heart race with fear and others that make it race with desire. It is up to you to place all the characters how you see them.

If you like a little humor mixed with a couple of murdering sociopaths then you will definitely adore Cattitude. Do not miss a chance to read it today.

After you finish Cattitude check out her miracle interrupted series next.

This was a cute fun read. I thought the storyline was unique and different. The story is about a cat named Belle and her human owner Max. Max is headstrong and the man in his family. After his father's death, at the age of 12 Max took over the company and took over as head of the family. He is the type who makes all the decisons and is the one in charge. Max rescued Belle and the two had a fun home life. Belle is a cat and is stubborn and is used to getting her own way, until Caroline moves in. This is when things get interesting, Caroline is money hungry and insecure. After she found out her late husband was broke, she pushed him off a cliff and now has set her eyes on Max. Belle being very intuitive, knows there is something off about Caroline and takes every opportunity to piss her off. Caroline has had enough and can't get through to Max with his cat in the way and Carolines next decision is what starts this story.

I loved reading about Belle's struggle with Scorcha's human body and it was so fun to see Belle keep her stubborn personality and her high and mighty attitude. It was heartwarming to watch her struggle with her feelings for Max. She was having strange feelings she wasn't quite understanding and anxious to get back to her cat body. Max is instantly attracted to Belle and at several points in the story noticed how much her personality was like his missing cat's. This story was told through several points of view. Belle the cat and Bell the human, Scrocha(the down on her luck physic who feels unloved, and the one who switches bodies with Belle) Caroline(villan #1), Phil(villan #2's brother), and the little outcast girl Gwen who lives down the road. We also have somewhat of a secondary romance between Max's sister and Phil. I really liked Phil, he was dealing with inner turmoil on realizing what kind of person his half brother turns out to be. Ted, Max's brother was also part of this story and he was a fun character to watch grow with confidence as Max hands over the keys to the company. The two characters who I think overcame so much in the story was the little girl Gwen and Scorcha. Scorcha had a rough life and only wanted to be loved. As she was adjusting to being in the cat body she meets Gwen who is an outcast in her family and at school. The bond these two shared was really heartwarming. This was a feel good story and was happy to see how everyone came into their own

Read this book.

My 4-star rating is a high 4 stars, docked from 5 because yes, Cattitude could probably-perhaps have benefited from some stream-line editing, and because something was wonky with the e-book formatting. Which, in today's market, counts as a critique.

Cattitude was not the 1600 pages long that my paid-for-through-BN copy showed it to be, thank goodness. The cover file was tiny, and there were page-gaps between chapters.

The suspense part of the plot could maybe have stood tightening up a bit - again, something a good editing might have helped. But it was still coherent and engaging.

Otherwise, I couldn't find any glaring errors in the writing itself. No mad punctuation or grammar problems. And the many-different-POVs were kept impressively clean and distinct.

Now, on to the win.

I have a hard time describing this story. Yes, ultimately it is a romance. But it doesn't read like a typical romance. 85-90% of the story is the comedy and conflict of Belle the cat finding herself in a human body, and Sorcha the woman finding herself in Belle's former cat-body. Neither, btw, knew each other before. Belle's owner, Max, finds her as Sorcha, a human woman who'd clearly been in a car wreck and was alienated on the side of the road, with no recollection of who she was or how she got there.

Edie Ramer takes the cat-voice of Belle and impeccably narrates her experience and horror at being turned human. The quickly-blossoming romance and tension between Belle-turned-Sorcha and Max actually works quite well, too - the apparent wrongness/horror/conflict of it is acknowledged and used for character development, while the tension and chemistry really is there and just - works. Yet it's not so overbearing as to really be the central focus of the story, which is why I'm recommending it to all readers, not just romance readers.

The story of Sorcha in Belle's body is touching, too, and adds a nice balance to things.

Like I said, maybe Cattitude could have benefited from some editing to tweak and streamline things, but truth be told, I really never hit a point in reading where I was bored or flipping ahead. So while it was long (although I'll never know just how long or short due to formatting inconsistencies), it was still engaging and very enjoyable.

Cattitude is about Belle and Sorcha who are too different from one another. For one, Belle is a cat and Sorcha a psychic but both have something in common - someone wants to kill them. Belle enjoys her life with Max and his family after she was saved when she was a kitten. Sorcha is a psychic who was used by her boyfriend to take advantage of a rich man. Belle's problems started when she kept messing around with Caroline who wants to marry Max out of his money and Sorcha tries to run away from her killer. As both was trying to save themselves from their killer, they meet and swapped bodies which started a whole new problem for the two.

This was a super fun book. It was easy to read and the characters were so cute. Belle tries to live her life in human form and Sorcha tries to adjust in her cat body. The chapter where Belle tries to adapt in Sorcha's body was very entertaining especially when she described how gorgeous her body was compared to the human. The book is something fresh and refreshing. There was no "how-did-it-happen" or explanation how the two exchanged bodies or how they can get to their own body, it's how it happened. Caroline was a passable villain and indeed believable. Tory and Ted we're the typical brother and sisters. The family of Max was funny in my opinion, I can indeed see their characters in real life. I loved how Ramer wrote Cattitude so close to reality minus the body swapping magic.

I am not fanatic of cats, but reading Cattitude may have changed my mind. I would love to own a "Belle" of my own. Cattitude is in one word - AWESOME. I would definitely read it again and would definitely recommend it to friends. Looking forward to what Ramer can write in the future.CattitudeEdie Ramer

When B asked me to review this book and read the blurb I was already mentally shaking my head and saying: ‘Nooooooooooooooooo way!’ A cat that changes bodies with her ‘assailant’ and falls in love with her owner and a mysterie to boot? Nuh uh. I might read a lot, but this is not my cup of tea.

Of course, B. can be very persistent and she sent me the book anyway, just so I could take a look and of course, I could not resist.

Edie Ramer’s Cattitude is a typical case where you don’t judge the book by its blurb. Cattitude pleasantly surprised me from the first page. Belle is a fiery character, both as a cat and as a person. All secondary characters are solid, three-dimensional characters and they make for a funny, attention-grabbing story.

My thoughts

Ms. Ramer definitely knows her cats, because her portrayal of Belle is reminiscent of any cat I know. Cats got attitude and Belle’s got ‘tude enough. Her views of humans are hilarious (and definitely true from a cat’s point of view) and it is fun to see how she adjusts to being human just as Sorcha adjust to being a cat.

I also liked the introduction of Sorcha. Just as I was wrong about the book, I was also wrong about this character. I thought she might be a third wheel in the story and yes, in a way she is, but a very good third wheel. I liked how “her” story ends. It was surprising. Sorcha carried just as much story as Max & Belle did.

The mystery part of the story was a hoot. It was both serious and comical and very fitting in the story.

Conclusion

Cattitude is a surprising book that I can definitely recommend. It’s a refreshing read with an original, funny and suspenseful plot, complete with a host of witty and funny characters. It is a well written story that has you on the edge of your seat and rolling on the floor in front of it and maybe pinking a way a stray tear as well.

This review is also on my blog, Clover Hill Book Reviews.

The cover on this is quite fun, and gives you a good idea what the main plot is about. I like the shades of purple and pink used as well, and the wispy detail of Belle's tail on the cover. What the cover won't tell you is the fantastic storyline which meld with the feline story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm a cat person, and the idea of this book intrigued me from the synopsis. The plot far exceeded what I thought it might be, the characters were good, and I adored the swap between Belle and Scorcha, who both gain so much and have to get used to a completely different way of living. I can vividly see the life and habits of many cats reflected in Belle and the crossover made fantastic reading, as did the fantastically woven storyline. I enjoyed this so much!

Meet the main characters - Belle, the cat who dominates her owner Max's life. Caroline, the two faced predator and Scorcha, who is running from a fate that is hunting her down. There's a host of interesting relationships, with murder, romance, friendships, family history and responsibility all in the mix, on top of the fascinating transition from cat to human and just desserts for everybody. The book is very touching and sweet in places, especially concerning Max.

The only reason this didn't get a merit rating is because Scorcha is a psychic before the switch, and when the switch happens, this element has got left behind and not mentioned for the new recipient...I was curious to see where that might have led.

Overall, don't be fooled into thinking this is just about our feline friends. There's so much more to this book. Edie Ramer brings not only a different twist on cat stories, but also a fantastic storyline which works so well alongside it. I couldn't put this one down and read it in one sitting.

Edie Ramer did a phenomenal job in writing a book that truly has it all! It is fun, funny, dangerous, mysterious, and filled with a perfect combination of suspense and romance. It's Chick-Lit meets Paranormal Romance, and the combination is explosive! Check out my interview with author Edie Ramer on www.paromantasy.com

Belle is a cat that has it all - a beautiful home, an owner (Max) who adores her, and naps in the bed. Her world is turned upside down when Caroline, a widow currently living in Belle's house, decides Max is going to be her future husband. The only thing standing in her way is his annoying cat so she decides to get rid of Belle by throwing her in front of a moving car... Sacha is on the run after witnessing a murder. She is driving fast with the murderer right behind her when something hits her car...

Belle and Sacha's world changes forever when their two worlds collide and they switch bodies. Suddenly Belle is in a human body being rescued by the man she once thought of as her owner (or human slave - we all know cats rule). Soon she finds herself falling in love with him, but how can she be with him when her soul is still that of a cat? Sacha finds herself in a cat body. She is trying to cope with her new cat impulses when a little girl finds her. All of a sudden she finds the love and protection that she never found as a human. What do you do when who you really are is at odds with who you were? Do you return to your old life or live as if it never existed?

This book is a must read. It's for the Chick-Lit and Paranormal Romance lovers; It's for those that love to read Tear-Jerkers, as well as the Page-Turners. What I'm trying to say is - just read it!! You will not be disappointed. It's a light, fun read that still has the suspense, danger and mystery that us heavy PNR fans appreciate

Belle the cat has a perfect life with her owner Max--that is until the pretty and dangerous Caroline decides that Belle is fouling up Caroline’s plan to marry Max. Caroline catnaps Belle and flings her in the road, hoping she’ll get killed by a car.

Sacha Anders has a shadowy life. A psychic who's witnessed a murder, Sacha finds herself frantically driving to escape the killer. When she hits a cat, it looks like it’s the end for both of them.

But Belle and Sacha don’t die. They switch bodies--and lives. Sacha, as a cat, finds happiness in the arms of an unloved preteen girl. Belle, in human form, begins a journey that is similar to The Little Mermaid, where she plays a new role in Max’s life and discovers a love for him that isn’t feline.

But Max is days away from achieving his lifelong dream--to travel the globe. The last thing he needs is an amnesiac woman who totaled her car. Max is done taking care of people. And yet, when he looks into the woman Sacha’s beautiful green eyes, he can’t help but feel the tug toward this independent, brave and forthright spirit.

Belle’s instincts tell her to stay. Max’s desire is to go. It’s a classic conflict. Plus, there’s the bonus of wondering whether Belle and Sorcha will switch back? Will Max find happiness with the real Sorcha or will Belle give up being a cat for the man she loves?

Ramer introduces a cast of characters with good and evil intentions. Tons of twists propel the plot, and if you've ever lived with a cat, you'll love getting inside Belle's head as she views the human world from her very unique perspective. It's a good thing it was a holiday weekend--cuz I lost most of today reading this book. I couldn't put it down!

This was a fun, quirky read. Belle is a cat who is adored by her human, Max. One day Max's evil former beauty queen interior designer throws Belle in front of a car to kill her. The woman driving the car, Sorcha, and Belle somehow exchange bodies and Belle ends up in a human body. Sorcha the psychic ends up in Belle's cat body.

The book follows the three women: Belle the cat turned human, Sorcha the human turned cat, and Caroline the interior designer who has designs on Max. The one character I loved the most was the lonely little girl. Her name escapes me at the moment. She finds Sorcha (once Sorcha is in Belle's cat body) and cares for the cat.

The characters were well-written, the emotion was believable, and the bad guys were sufficiently bad. This was a sassy, fun Freaky Friday type story. It's more of a romance than I was expecting but I still enjoyed it (even though romance is not my favorite genre). The plot was surprisingly more layered than I expected. Cattitude is a must read for cat lovers and romance fans alike. It's a perfectly light-hearted read.

Just One Gripe:
Belle's superiority got to me at times. I know that's how cats probably think (based on the way my cat looks at me sometimes) but there were times I wanted someone to pop Belle!

The Best Thing About This Book:
It was a fun, sweet story.

Appropriate for a younger audience:
No

Score:
Characters: 3/5
Plot: 3/5
Setting/Imagery: 3/5
Originality: 3/5
Ending: 5/5
Total Score: 17/25

Edie Ramer’s debut novel, Cattitude is a clever, sometimes laugh-out-loud story about a woman and cat who change bodies. Two untidy romances follow on the heels of the transformation. Cat turned woman falls for her owner, and woman turned cat falls for a little girl with a heart of gold and a deep longing for . . . you guessed it . . . a cat! A gun wielding killer and gold-digging floozy add just enough danger and conflict to carry the story nicely from start to finish.

As a snobbish reader who goes for literary novels written mostly by brooding men, I found myself enjoying this crazy story. The side characters tend to be shallowly drawn, and the villains are cartoonishly evil, but the writing is a cut above and the reading is downright fun. Look for a different novel if you want to read introspective reflections by heroes and heroines whose scientific definition of the world has been proven wrong by an impossible supernatural occurrence. Pick this one up and read it cover to cover if you love cats that’ll do anything for a can of tuna.

Edie has come up with a pet rock of a book here. I hope she goes and talks to PetSmart, because this novel ought to fly off the shelves of every pet store in America, not to mention the more traditional places where people sometimes wander for a good read and a hot cup of coffee.

Hilarious and entertaining! Cattitude was intriguing, let's face it a cat turning into human and having to adjust to walking, eating, learning to talk and read, and yikes, taking a SHOWER for crying out loud. I absolutely loved all Belle's and Max's parts of the book! Cattitude is fresh, new and hilarious!

Now the the critique part... There were too many point-of-views that distracted a reader from the story and it slows the book down, if it had been up to me I would have cut off Gwen and Phil's POV at least or had some of their parts in another's POV. I seriously believe the book would have been more quick witted and romantic had the plot stayed together. That is the only fault in the book. ( even though it's a big one for me )

Everything else I loved! I loved the hero and the heroine, I loved the supporting cast, I loved Ms. Ramer's writing and her story telling and I loved the funky, little bit weird romance - and all the awesome cattitude Belle had going on, she was a totally believable cat in furry and woman form. And I very much enjoyed the drama and the mystery!

I would have loved to give Cattitude 5 stars - but the too multiple point-of-views really did bother me, if that had been fixed it would have been a stellar 5 star book for me.

I LOVED this book. As a cat lover, I was drawn to the tagline: Anything a human can do a cat can do better. How perfect! That's a sentiment I see my cat thinking every day. In her heroine, Belle, Edie Ramer has managed to capture the feline thought process and translate it into a humorous and endearing character who charmed me from the first page. The book is often laugh out loud funny, as when Belle is considering living life as a woman instead of a cat and decides she'd rather have a hairball in her throat. Or the passages on Belle's Harry Potter obsession. I could definitely relate to those and at one point had to take a drink of water, I was laughing so hard. The hero, Max, is loveable and relatable as well. He's so attractive and wonderful, ...well you'll have to read the book to know more. Ramer has also done a fantastic job with the relationship between Sorcha (who becomes a cat) and the little girl she grows to love. Cattitude is a must read for cat lovers...and everyone else.

Cattitude by Edie Ramer
Belle was happy. What cat wouldn't be when she had a man like Max to fill her every need? Now, the woman that was trying to get her claws into Max did not make Belle happy. Especially when said woman tried to kill her!

Sorcha Anders was in trouble...the life and death kind of trouble. While trying to escape the man who had just murdered her fiancé and planned on the same fate for her...everything changed.

Max Brannigan was going to do it after twenty years. Yep, he was going to travel and get away from his family. His siblings were old enough to be responsible for themselves and his mother...well, she'd just have let him go. And then a strange woman showed up and his beloved cat went missing.

I really enjoyed this story. The characters came to life, a young girl named Gwen really grabbed my heart. The Fat Cat, a free read, is about Max's sister Tory and the cat she adopts from the shelter.

Cattitude is full of sass and quirkiness. This cute, original story features Belle, whose owner, Max, is being stalked by the gold-digging Caroline. Caroline wants Max’s millions but not his cat. Fortunately, Belle survives being thrown in front of a car by the evil Caroline, and ends up trading bodies with the driver, Sorcha, who’s a psychic.

Belle’s and Sorcha’s lives become interesting and crazy, but even as Belle grows to like her human body more and more as she falls in love with Max, she retains all the attitude of a cat, captivating Max and defending him against Caroline. Sorcha also finds someone to love and love her back and her story is equally heart-warming.

Ms. Ramer’s characters are creative, well-drawn and enchanting. Even her secondary characters come to life on the page. Cattitude is an engaging fairy tale, sure to lift your spirits and make you smile at Belle’s delightful and very cat-like approach to love and romance.

I liked the book. It is pure fantasy but who wouldn't want to be a cat. Think about it. Lots of petting, warm bed, someone to clean your 'house' but that's only if you have a good human. In this story, Belle the cat loves her human man and he loves her but Caroline, a human who wants the man, hates the cat because the cat sees the evil in Caroline. As the result of a car accident, the driver is thrown out of the car at the exact same time that Caroline throws Belle into the path of that car. The cat and the woman touch and a strange event occurs, they swap bodies. All of a sudden the cat has a human body and the woman is in a cat's body. What follows is a hilarious adventure. This is not heavy literature but happy, fantasy, and if you don't like impossible occurrences, you won't like this book. But, if you enjoy light reading that has a happy ending for all involved, you'll love reading Cattitude.

What a unique book! Edie Ramer knows cats, that's for sure. Must admit, I started this book with a bit of trepidation. I'm more a 'reality romance' kind of reader, and usually don't care for (don't hit me) 'shifters'. But Edie's cat/human 'shifts' in such a fun Freaky Friday kind of way I didn't find the transition nearly as disturbing as I feared I might.

I enjoyed how almost every character in the story had a 'story of their own' rather than just the addition of secondary characters to fit plot. And the fact the happily-ever-after wasn't reserved strictly for the main characters was an added bonus.

Fun, fast and LOL funny read!

I just reviewed CATTITUDE.
Edie Ramer knows cats and people. Her book CATITUDE is a fun read with interesting characters and a plot that keeps you guessing until the very end as to how Belle and Max will get their Happily Ever After. I enjoyed watching Belle grow from a four-legged feline female to a full-fledged human woman. Ms Ramer skillfully weaves the strands of all the subplots without losing track of the main story line. The secondary story of Sorcha and Gwen will tug at your heartstrings. If you like cats this is must read. And if you don't like cats reading it just might change your mind.
