When it comes to magic, Rowan Gray-Davenport has always been grateful to be part of the club. She never wanted to be the leader of it, though. All of that is about to change. When Rowan’s friends Sally and Demarcus arrive on their new purchase, a vintage steamboat they want to refurbish so they can turn it into a floating restaurant and casino, Rowan and her husband Quinn are thrilled to reunite with them. That only lasts until their daughter Lana asks about the invisible children on the boat. It seems there are a lot of them, and they just might be dead. It appears the new boat is haunted, and the ghosts are looking for vengeance. They seem to have their sights set on Lana as a form of protection. She just doesn’t know it yet. Lana is a little girl who wants to be seen as special. Unfortunately, she can’t see the danger that’s directly in front of her. Rowan can, however, and it doesn’t take long for her to call on her friends Ivy, Harper, and Maddie to get her through this ordeal. The children might have been innocent when they died, but they’re out for blood now. It’s going to take the whole gang working together to see this through to the other side. Lana’s life is hanging in the balance, and this time the magic that’s required to save her will stem from her mother’s love. Rowan had better be up to the challenge, because otherwise her family will be lost. Her moment is here. She has no choice but to embrace it.
Rowan and Quinn's daughter Lana ends up in danger after she sees a group of ghosts on an old steamboat. The couple's friends from Rowans series (which was set in the Bounding Seas cruise ship) Demarcus and Sally have bought a dilapidated steamboat nd pin to turn it into a floating casino. While showing the family around the boat Lana.........who up till this point has shown no psychic talent..........sees a group of ghosts, they are all.children around ten nd under when they died. The ghosts seem to develop an unhealthy fixation on Lana which disturbs all the adults, most especially her parents. Harper is at a loss, the ghosts are working together so are really difficult for her to catch and they seem afraid of something while at the same time wanting to destroy it. They warn Harper, Rowan and the rest of the group to stay out of their business but if course our four intrepid friends (their spouses and Zander) are never going to be able to do that. Then things get urgent when something occurs which strikes t the heart of Rowan and Quinn's family.............
This is an extraordinary paranormal cozy mystery series. A spectacular cast of characters and a great storyline. This series is a combined series of four previous long run series where the characters have come together. Ivy Morgan, Rowen Gray, Maddie Graves and Harper Harlow. Each of them have unique magical abilities from being able to see and speak to ghosts do you one of them being a witch and having a psychic abilities and other unique magical abilities among them. After the four series ended a combined series of the group coming together on special occasions when they needed help the new series is born. If you liked any of the series they ran before you will love the new series. this particular book was exceptionally entertaining with lots of twists and turns including a couple of dirt twists but in the end a happy outcome. Read on and enjoy.
I liked this book best so far, but that could be that I got used to the characters and that I’m more invested in them. I liked the story and the setting and I’m looking forward to what’s happening with the ship in future books.
Took me forever to read this. I only half remember what it was even about! Well, it was about the female children and child ghosts trying to keep little Lana (Rowan and Quinn’s daughter) with them forever. You know none of the witchy ghostly catching crew is going to allow that though!
There was dream walking, sending children’s ghosts to the other side, Shadow demolishing, Kidnapping, dream catchers with magic, camera catching ugly souls, and a child in a coma. Lots going on!
I couldn’t help but cry at the end when Gloria fell asleep with a smile on her face… forever. It was really sweet, yet sad.
Everything turned out for the better for everyone except the lady on the beach and the shadow probably didn’t like what happened to it, but it was deserved.
Next is book 4 of 5 in A Return to Magic Cozy Mystery series: “Of Moms & Monsters”.
I have very much enjoyed this series. I forgot to leave ratings for the first two books, so my comments are for the series as a whole (thus far). The individual series for the four paranormal women were very entertaining, but them grouped together takes it up another level. This author has cleverly bound together the lives of these women, their husbands and children. These mysteries are very compelling. I highly recommend these books. Of course it's best if one has read the four separate series of these ladies first. If you just found these books, go back and read the other books that develops the characters. They are a fun read.
Not all things that go bump in the night are dark, yet not all of them are light either. When Rowan’s daughter, Lana, sees ghosts of children on an old steamboat, she is excited that she is coming into powers. When those children manage to kill an adult, the parents quickly feel out of their depth and begin investigating. Lana begins keeping secrets and the children trap her away in another world. Can these four gifted women figures things out in time to save Lana?
Ms Lily/Amanda : you have a given all of us something that we can only dream of which is when a book series ends you want to know how their life does after the fact, and these books have given that to us. I love seeing how the children are growing into themselves, and the parents having to learn essentially what their parents or guardians had to learn while raising them. wonderful wonderful story keep on writing, and I will keep on reading and listening.
Welcome to the world of our special magical ladies, we have Harper, Ivy, Maddison and Rowan whose daughter Lana meets ghosts her age who would like her to stay and play with them. Harper can see that Lana is really seeing these ghost children but also has seen these ghosts kill a woman on the beach. How can our friends protect Lana and find out what these ghosts need, to find the answer to that question and others I recommend you buy the book and read it ASAP.
Sally and Demarcus have arrived with the boat and invited Rowan and Quinn to see it... the problems arise when a sulky Lana disappointed that Poe and Olive have started showing special skills gets hit by the side blast of a dream catcher... while the adults chat she's taking her own photographs and what shows up sets off a chain of events that leaves Lana in danger... can Rowan, Harper, Ivy, and Maddie work out how to save Lana?
I loved the books with these characters when they were all separate series and was so glad to hear that their stories would continue in a combined series. I like how each book is mainly told from one person’s point of view, but involves all of the characters. It was heartbreaking to have Rowan and Quinn’s daughter in danger this time around, but she couldn’t have had a better team behind her working on the solution. Looking forward to the next adventure.
I have read over thirty books by this author and this was by far the most intricate, stressed, intriguing, and complicated, story I have read of theirs. It was spellbinding with magic, mystery, suspense, trauma, drama, humor, horror, violence, and romance. When I read it, it held my attention and I couldn’t set it aside. I read it without stop until the final sentence. Eager for the next book in the series.
I loved this book.Couldn't put it down until I was finished. I love having the whole gang together and the kids just make me laugh so much. Great to have Sally and Demarcus back.I hope we get to see more of them in the future. This storyline felt more sinister than normal which I actually enjoyed. Highly recommend.
I love how this series tied together four other series into one. This was such a sad story in some aspects with a mystery about what led to the sadness and ultimately who caused it and why. I enjoyed it from beginning to end especially getting to visit all of these excellent characters and their sarcasm and snarkiness. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
I love this book and I love Ms. Hart’s sense of humor!! Her stories flow easily and keep you entertained. I never felt like there was a lull in the story or a lot of unnecessary filler. She is a very gifted and creative author. You won't be sorry to buy this book.
So much drama, humor, and lots and lots of ghosts. I just couldn't put this book down. It was so intense. The story line grabbed me right from the start. There were some twists and turns. It had me thinking I had figured out the outcome, but with another page turned I realized I had to rethink my conclusions. I love this series!!!!
As always Ms. Hart has written another wonderful story. I love how these 4 strong women work together. I am looking forward to the next in the series. Jack is going to grumpy! As always Ms. Hart delivered!
4+ witches husbands & friends, what do you get, an adventure like no other. This just keeps getting better. Constantly learning about there magic, solving mysteries.
I like how the characters are all growing and the story lines intertwine. Having the kids developing their own special magic is fun. And of course .watching the parents try to adjust
This story had some pretty creepy kid ghosts with definite ideas on what they were going to do. The live kid’s powers are obviously growing quickly, so the parents are facing new challenges and scrambling to keep up.
Book 3 has humor, murders, mystery, major danger, plenty of ghosts, and some really evil people. Lana is finally developing a gift, but it puts her in real danger. Highly entertaining.
I found the bratty kids absolutely obnoxious. Had trouble keeping the couples sorted out & remembering who was the husband or wife of Quinn & Rowan. First book of hers I haven't enjoyed. Probably won't read the rest of the rest of this series.
Fast paced read, lots of fun and some snark and plenty of ghosts, what happened to the ghost children that kept them trapped and now they have Lana, something has to be done. Great read.
This story will grab you right from the start. There is humor, the snark from Zander, and a ghost story that is both frightening and sad. Terrific read.
Absolutely love the crossovers. Great story especially when the ladies all work together and now the kids are coming into their own. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
