In the “Art & Science of Doing Time,” my aim was and is to bring awareness back to the forefront of our minds and show the harmonious harmony that can take place between two types of people who spend a significant amount of time together in jail/prison. This distinction lies in the fact that one group is there fulfilling their occupational responsibilities, while the other group, for the most part, is there to pay their Debt to Society. However, this type of controlled environment was and is designed that way because it’s only right that continued acts of righteousness (law-abiding citizens/correctional officers) should govern continued acts of wrongful behaviors from lawbreakers (inmates/convicts,) in the attempt to instill correction through the various programs the institutions has to offer as well as other resources used in the attempt to instill correction into the corrupted mindsets of the detained. The sole purpose is also to encourage the staff members to familiarize themselves with the facility’s mission statement and apply it and its teaching(s) to their everyday lives and functions, while never forgetting and applying the mission statement’s first cousin, integrity! Because it’s premium, not regular, but premium fuel for harmonious harmony, at the facility... I also wanted to make the effort to infuse into the hearts and minds of both parties, inmates and staff, that they're not each other’s enemy. I also want to heavily stress the need for the inmates all the more, to realize and know that it’s imperative for them to get whatever mental maintenance they need in order to see that the staff members aren’t the enemy... While some may need minor maintenance, others may need a major overhaul. Whatever the category, it would be in their very best interest to get that maintenance... Also, to let them know that it is important for them to use the time of their incarceration to reinvent themselves, so that they can make the team entitled, “Team Get Out and Stay Out,” without any problems. It is a team designed and designated for both parties, staff and inmates.... Happily, it is not just for the ones who are just being released from jail/prison. “Team Get Out and Stay Out” was also fashioned and designed for anyone who finds themselves in a toxic relationship, or toxic situation of any sort, and wants to be out, and once out, to stay out by any rational means of the word, “Stay Out!”
