Welcome to Flint, Michigan. Malek Johnson's hustle is the basketball court, and he's destined for the pros straight out of high school. He finds love in the super fine girl everyone calls Halleigh, and he promises her that he will take her out of the hood. When Halleigh's virginity is traded in exchange for her mother's drug tab, their dream spirals out of control and they are quickly separated and sucked into the life that they have so desperately tried to avoid. Malek becomes affiliated with the North Side's biggest kingpin and quickly rises to the top of the ranks, while Halleigh is sucked into the streets by Manolo, the South Side's biggest pimp. Will Halleigh and Malek's love be strong enough to bring them back together?
The whole saga from cover to cover in one drama-filled volume . . .
The whole Flint series in one book. I enjoyed reading this series but was saddened by the ending. Even though Halleigh and Malek didn't stand a chance, I wished they would've had a happy ending.
I think it was a great boom because it made me understand more about the street life and how they don't like to live like that but they don't have choice.
This was an emotional book with many of the issues that our youth today are still facing. When I get my hands on a really good book for me it doesn't matter the amount of the pages. This book captured my attention in the beginning and I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended.
This was one of the first books I ever read in the 8th grade lol. I LOVE this book!!!! I bought it without really paying attention to the series part but I like all the books being in this one huge book. Highly recommend !!! I'm now 23 and have reread this book so many times , it's unmatched ! Thank you Treasure .
This book was off the chain! This book was action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat....I just couldn't put it down. Halleigh and Malek went through so much to be together and showed the meaning of unconditional and true love. The only bad thing I can say is that I absolutely hated the ending. Treasure Hernandez is now one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to read the rest of her books.
I really enjoyed this book! These two ppl cant get a beak to save their life! Talk about some true love in this book. Now I'm down for the love thing I think its beautiful, however loving someone more then you love yourself...…..Not this chic. Its one thing if its your child, but even then you cant neglect your self.
Very good it had me from the very first page.I will be at work and thinking about this book can't wait to get home to read it that's how good it was i will be sleep and be dreaming about the characters in the book this was a good book. It didn't take me long to read it either about 4 weeks keep doing your thing Treasure
Holy wow!! I have a love hate relationship with this book!! I had to walk away from it for a couple days because what happened made me SO mad! Definitely a page turner, and it really opened my eyes to street life. Being from a smaller town in Michigan I have no idea the things that happen in other cities. Especially cities like Flint. I was sad to see it end, but dang, what a phenomenal book!!!
I loved this book I finished it in 3 days I couldn't put it down being that I myself grew up in Flint, MI I could relate to a lot of things in this book!!! Love Love Love it can't wait to read more of his books!!
I have to admit this book was excellent, The story flowed. I enjoyed the characters just an work of art. Although I didnt like the ending I had to admit that I enjoyed it alot.
this was the second book I read by treasure and she blew my mind. it was sad and real and scary and reminded me much of my hood in Rochester NY. Flint, MI is much like Rochester NY.
