Humanity wasn't always doomed. There was a time when people were actually pretty decent. Two hundred years ago, every person on earth was connected through the stream of a hyper-advanced artificial intelligence system designed to give the world a fresh start. AVA cleansed humanity and rebuilt it on the ideals of progress and peace. With their pasts bleached and their futures filtered out, humans advanced in a startling leap. They thrived in the new world that AVA created. Then the virus struck. Now, after a centuries' long apocalypse, humanity has returned to its violent roots. The few ragged settlements that remain fight each other for what little the Nothing provides, and will do whatever it takes to stay alive. Charlize Smith doesn't know it yet, but her hometown might be the last civilized place on earth. Born defective and forced to undergo a slew of dangerous experiments, Charlie dreams of the day when she can finally set out on her own. But when a tragedy pushes her to the edge, she's arrested and thrown onto a truck bound for the Nothing –– where she'll probably die.

Fate's Forsaken rating FAQs (taken from the official website):
Fate’s Forsaken was written with the Young Adult audience in mind, and contains no graphic nudity, sex scenes, or cussing. Though the characters must often overcome hardships, and their stories touch upon difficult themes, Shae’s purpose in writing the series was to provide her readers with an uplifting adventure, the means to escape the troubles of the “real world” — and perhaps even make a few friends along the way.
Anomaly Series:
Book 1: Charlie the Anomaly
This post-apocalyptic gunslinger series is set in ruins of north Texas. Taking place about 400 years in the future, readers will get to see what the world looks like after civilization is destroyed-- and read about how it all ended. Tag along with Charlie while she sets fires and wreaks havoc on the villains of the Nothing!
R-rated for violence, PG-13 for language, No nudity or sexual situations
A raw, primal story with plenty of twists and turns. An entertaining read from start to finish. For a post-apocalyptic story it jumps right into the dirty and gritty fight for survival in a fresh and uncompromising way.
Absolutely loved the characters and the storytelling was exquisite. Will definitely be reading it again and again.
I thought I could force my way through Shae Ford’s 2018 novel "Anomaly, Book 1: Charlie the Anomaly." Technically, the writing is fine and I was interested to see what she was going to do with the “Anomaly” bit. But, the never ending pain, torment, torture, death, murder (and even more) finally overwhelmed me. I kept hoping that the next change in venue would lead to something less miserable. But, nope. It all keeps piling up at every opportunity. Heck, there’s even flashbacks of torture while in the midst of torment. So, at the 64% point, I threw in the towel and am rating the book at a Horrible 1 star out of 5.
Dammmmmmnnnnnn, that was...crazy. Loved every minute of this read, sure there's lots of blood, guts and savage death, you have to be tough to live another day. This book is not for the weak or young, but all you adults out there..have a blast making it through the future as seen through Charlie's blood, sweat and tears.
I absolutely loved this book. Just when I thought I could predict what the Charlie was going to do the story turned. I finished the whole book in a few days because I didn’t want to put it down. Highly recommend reading!!
I enjoyed the story a lot, it was original and written with finesse. I can understand that it is not everyone's cup of tea, but it hit the spot for me! Am excited for the story to continue.
