This book is essential for anyone attempting to understand the design philosophy behind the transmission systems in general. I read this book in German and I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to understand the variety of transmission systems and their working, in particular the ones associated with the IC engines. As an addition, the authors may think of adding references to the transmission systems associated with electric drives. This is perhaps the future.
