Also known as Ghetto Girl Blue, she is a pioneering figure in Black erotic spoken word. Holter has authored multiple titles, including the poetry collection Verbal Penetration and the novel The Punany Experience, published by Zane’s Strebor Books through Simon & Schuster.
With the recent release of her new book, Truth is a Trap House, her classic series Punany: The Hip Hop Psalms is gaining new audiences. While the original coffee table book is out of print and coveted by collectors, Black Love American Style, The Onliners, and Secret of the Pearl are available on Amazon. Speak the Unspeakable is also a fan favorite for survivors of trauma.
Fans of her theater work will enjoy her Adult Night School Stage Play, which producers can bring to their own community stages. Holter, a talented visual artist, is particularly proud of Ghetto Girl Blue’s Art Book with Haiku Poetry.

July 30, 2011We are introduced to Stormy Talbert, Korea Smith, and Dream Crow when they are mere teenagers and we follow their lives loosely throughout the conclusion of this novel. We also meet and get to know the prevalent people in their lives and eventually their story lines seamlessly intertwine. After being rescued, some would say snatched, from the wrath of an unhealthy heterosexual relationship that was going nowhere fast, Stormy now lives her life as lesbian housewife and personal chef. Her only responsibilities outside of the bedroom are keeping the house clean and a magnificent homemade dinner on the table when her other half arrives home for the evening. She also takes pleasure in writing a food review column online and aspires to be in the Food Critic's Guild. As intelligent as Stormy seems to be she is far from independent and is very accustomed to taking orders and being submissive to her current mate. Sadly she has never garnered the respect she deserves from a lover and for that her self esteem suffers. We will discern Stormy fight for her sovereignty as she comes into her own as she struggles to finally blossom into her own woman.
From a far it appears the handsome Hartford Crow has it all, a successful music producing career which was the gateway to a booming musical career for his older sister Dream Crow, a beautiful home, wife, and daughters. What onlookers do not know is his marriage is virtually sexless due to the fact that his wife just doesn't excite him anymore. They argue quite a bit and his spoiled spouse is more concerned with shopping then raising his children, who cannot manage get along. What Hartford himself does not know about his own family is far worse. His youngest daughter Raven is boarder line deranged, and his wife is cheating with multiple men. In the midst of it all Hartford is dealing with a sexual urge that he can no longer ignore. Something so kinky that he cannot fathom even telling his wife.
Korea is a sexy masculine power house of a businesswoman that fiercely goes after whatever it is she desires. Somewhat androgynous her rugged femininity attracts both men and women although she seems to have sworn off men after contracting herpes from the man she lost her virginity to. At the top of her game in her profession Korea makes time to seek pleasure in being quite the dominatrix to her newly appointed assistant. Sensing Korea is growing bored with what she they share in the bedroom, her wife plans to fulfill her ultimate fantasy by finding a man to be the bottom as Korea assumes the aggressive position of the top. The decision to indulge in such a taboo sexual scenario is one that is sure to change the lives of all involved in the most unexpected of ways.
This erotic tale is the epitome of jaw dropping and not at all what I expected. The back cover of this novel barely sheds light on what this read is truly about. The meager glimpse we are given does not suffice as an adequate warning of what is contained between these steamy pages. The over the top sexually explicit scenes definitely blur the lines of sexual identity and keep the readers guessing. I had no clue what the war between tops and bottoms meant or what it could possibly entail until I completed this book. The author is correct when she says this is not the average down low story, as matter a fact, it is hardly a down low story at all. The key people that surround the main characters play vital roles the events that take place, but not until the book is nearly over do the characters realize how small the world really is, and find truth in the six degrees of separation phenomenon. The twists in this novel are far from predictable and are sure to surprise leaving the readers utterly speechless, yet intrigued as we observe humans give into their carnal desires.
