They call him the Raven. His mistake was picking the wrong agent to cross. Now the hunt is on.
Fresh off her victory over Tony Belcher and his Aryan extremists, seasoned ATF agent Lexi Mills finds herself in the crosshairs of a new and deadly enemy—a killer who uses intricate weapons of destruction as his signature calling card.
When a small West Texas town is rocked by a high-profile murder trial, a powerful suspect faces a judge he can’t buy off. As the trial captures the media spotlight, Lexi discovers a mysterious connection between the suspect and a man at the top of her most-wanted list—and is quickly catapulted into the toughest investigation of her career.
Hot on the trail of an elusive killer who has already put one ATF agent in a body bag, Mills and her newfound ally Nathan Croft must plunge into a deep pool of corruption and conspiracy to unearth the true identity of the Raven.
But with every step forward the danger increases and the pressure mounts. Lives are hanging in the balance…and something is about to blow.

The story begins with Milo, an individual running a corrupt operation, killing his wife. Meantime Lexi is thinking about Kris's funeral, a team member who was killed, which would happen the next day. As chance would have it, they would meet up later.
Milo is being brought before the judge, one he does not control, and was denied bail. As a result he had his lawyer contact "the Raven" wanting his to do a request. It seems that the D.A. and sheriff are new and he can't bribe them. As a result of Milo's request, the judge is killed at the preliminary trial. The killer was also to shoot both the sheriff and D.A. as well. This did not happen and once the gun had been discovered it brought Lexi and her new partner, Nathan Croft, were sent to handle the case.
The sheriff was not pleased that ATF was taking over the case, but he agreed to help. The killer had been captured the previous night and was be questioned. After the killer's lawyer made a request, that is when Nathan told that detective that ATF was taking over. In agreeing to talk, the request would be allowed.
Using information supplied by the killer, Lexi and Nathan went to arrest the person who was identified. When they arrived the discovered that person was dead and the premises was booby-trapped. In order to enter Lexi needed to disarm the trap. After she disarmed the trap, they went inside to search and also notified the sheriff's dept. When they arrived back at the jail to transport their prisoner, they found him dead. It seemed that Milo had more requests and this was one of them.
As they started looking into it, another person was killed. Their next step was to make sure the next target was safe. Their guess paid off as there was another attempt made on the D.A. At the same time, Lexi was also attacked. They were later able to locate a suspect and as they were transporting him to El Paso, an attempt was made to kill him. Since Lexi had a group of Texas Rangers along, the vehicle carrying the killers was disabled and the passengers all died. Unfortunately, their suspect was also killed, but before dying he told Lexi in a dying declaration who was the individual responsible for the killings.
To discover what else happened in the story in addition to how the trap the ATF set to get the Raven worked, then you need to read this book. There so many other events that you will discover.
Lexi Mills is back in her latest case and it’s a doozie This fourth Lexi Mills story has everything you have come to expect after reading its predecessors, with a few additions. The action in Pressure is intense, and the pursuit of justice and the capture of the Raven takes the reader on an “e-ticket” ride. This story introduces a couple of new characters who present challenges to Lexi’s work life. I don’t remember going for laughing to crying in the previous books, but Pressure will take your emotions on a journey and possibly leave you shaking your head at times. If you have gotten hooked on Lexi Mills like me, this is a must read, and if you haven’t read any of the Lexi Mills stories yet, do yourself a favor and get a copy of Fuze and work your way up to this book – it’s not really work unless your work is normally enjoyable. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and chose to provide my review.
Lexi Mills fans will really enjoy this latest installment in the series. Lexi’s newest mission is hunting down the arms dealer, ‘The Raven’, who killed members of her task force. As series fans have come to expect, there is plenty of action that keeps the pages flipping. As in previous books in the series, readers are brought into Lexi’s private life, giving insight into her struggles to find balance between her job and her relationships. This aspect was even more emotional in this installment. The teaser at the end ensures that the hunt will continue until Lexi succeeds in her quest to bring ‘The Raven’ to justice.
Book 4 and what a ride – after her last round of revenge over Belcher and his extremist, she is now searching for “Raven”, an arms dealer that has a flare of creating arms that are quite different, and who signs his creations with raven’s feather. Lexi is teaming up with a Nathan Croft, who has been investigating Raven for the last few years, and they need to figure out that they are on the same team. They get mixed up in in the middle of a corrupted town while searching for Raven. And in all this Lexi’s realizes that her personal life needs to take first seat, how to balance it - and may I suggest a tissue warning (at least twice!)
Pressure (Lexi Mills Book 4), my thirteenth read from author Brian Christopher Shea and the fourth in the Lexi Mills ATF series. Outstanding fiction, well-written with characters & plot you can buy into with unexpected twists & turns. Shea is a master character creator. Those who like Lee Child's Jack Reacher will be drawn to Lexi Mills. I look forward to Remote (Lexi Mills Book 5), when it's published in October “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Great characters with family and friendships. Good to see the good guys and gals win. Lexi is called to West Texas just before her wedding. The small town has been very corrupt for decades. They just voted in a new Sheriff and district attorney and the judge is new as well. We will see how the good old boys like that!! Lexi and her crew have to figure out who to trust. Lots of action so you can’t put it down. Really enjoying the series.
Another fast-paced, full-of-action story in a series that just gets better with each new book. In Pressure Lexy faces great changes in her personal life and at the same time she is working on trying to help a city to get rid of bad cops, lawyers, and judges who work only for their benefit and not for the city's. Time is of the essence and the hunt is on. Great entertainment!
A corrupt tycoon kills his wife in a rage and is arrested. He does not want to spend time in jail and contacts a person to help him. The person he contacts is the Raven and there are several deaths. Lexi is assigned to find the Raven. A gripping thriller with jaw dropping suspense and twists. A page turner which had me glued.
Another suspenseful thriller featuring Lexi Mills. Before she can relax from her last case, Lexi is thrown into a new one. I like Lexi as a strong female lead. Her no nonsense attitude makes her more likeable to me. The twists kept me turning the pages until the final climax. I would highly recommend it. I received an advance copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
Honestly this book was nowhere near as good as the other Lexi Mills books. It was a struggle to keep my attention, there were many errors in the book and overall it just felt very rushed. Not even sure if I want to continue the series after this.
Goodness all they do is clutch one another’s bodies. Is this any way to catch the Raven? Try Ben Porter for a change. He’s not sex crazed but smart and always gets his man!
Suspense great read couldnt put. Down read in one day Love mystery and romance together fact brings shes lesbian in the mix not many mystery books have that will continue read love writing style
It's always a pleasure to read a Lexi Mills book and this one is a marvel. The excitement, the tension, the despair - an adventure you will not soon forget. Highly Recommended.
Lexi is hunting down a new enemy in this story, and her skills are put to the test once again. It's difficult to know who to trust, as she's surrounded by unfamiliar people.
I am really enjoying this series, but this installment was a particularly emotional one. It's a great read, full of action and suspense, I just wasn't expecting to cry!
I'm looking forward to the next book, I need to see where it all goes from here.
