December Elliot has it all together. She's successful in her role as an account manager for a staffing company, is supported by the best of girlfriends, and has a wardrobe to die for . . . with matching shoes that are just right for every outfit. The shoes always have to be just right, so much so that December has a full-fledged shoe fetish. December's love for shoes seems to govern her life and her rational. A sucker for the latest and most unique fashions, it's not long before she finds herself in financial trouble, constantly spending money on not just footwear but anything that she believes will keep the perception of her image prestigious.
This is a story about December Elliott who, if you haven't realized by the name, has a SERIOUS love for shoes. So much so that she is in serious debt and she has figured out a way to label men according to the different styles of shoes. She is on a mission to become debt free and find her perfect shoe.
This was a nice, quick, light read. I never would have compared men to shoes but I think the author did a great job. Once you think about the definitions she gave it's so true. The book also had humor which I loved. I laughed so hard at December's date with Rodney (her House Shoe).
There is sex in the book but it just stated no details. And I don't remember any cursing either.
The Perfect Shoe told the story of 28 year old December Elliot and her quest for Mr. Right in the midst of discovering what she wants to do with her life. Kimberly Matthews uses shoes as an analogy for men with each shoe being a particular type of man, i.e. the house shoe, bedroom show, winter boot, etc. December is searching for her stilleto (Mr. Right). Overall, it was a quick read. It's not high on my list of must reads. If you're looking for a book to breeze through in between books, this is an option.
