It’s so hot out Taylor doesn’t even want to move; the last thing he needs is full body contact with another person. At least that what’s he thinks until Adam shows up with a bag of ice and a head full of scorching ideas that convince Taylor he’s going to melt faster than the ice.
Not sure what to do with this story either. It sort of continues where the first one (What's a Boy to Do) left off. Taylor isn't any more certain about what he wants, and tries out another man he's met. Adam and he have some very hot sex, but, like in the fist book, that's all there is. I couldn't find anything that would help me understand the character. I think I may be missing something here.
Taylor gets home in a heatwave and is dying with no a/c yet in the apartment. He strips off and is TRYING to get some coolness from the fan when Adam, his casual hook-up calls and wants to come over. Taylor is too hot but Adam shows up and they have some fun using ice and a cool wet tile floor in the kitchen. I really sensed the heat and how Taylor just felt like a giant unmoving slug who didn’t want anyone to touch him. BTDT I should have read this a week ago when we were sweating, not on the weekend under a blanket. This was just a short interlude but there was a lot of reference made to Taylor’s past relationships with his roommate and another guy and a lot of mention of the fact that he and Adam had dated before but Adam didn’t want a relationship and now neither did he so it worked. I kept waiting for some kind of relationship development but …. Unless there is to be more stories for these guys, I’m not sure. It’s hot and steamy (literally) but I didn’t quite know why it mattered about Taylor’s past relationships.
Now this is what I call a coffee break story (if on your coffee break you are not in a room full of other people but somewhere where you can read hot stuff!)
What I love about this book is not just the story of the sex and the heat and the ice (sighs), which as usual for Diane is incredibly detailed and well written. I really enjoyed that Taylor is a person we find out so much about through glimpses into back story. Taylor is not just one dimensional and we are given enough of his 'self' to round out the picture. It is very tightly written and focused and has sprinklings of humor that I really took pleasure in reading.
The second story in the life of Taylor leaves both Jake and Z behind and focuses on Adam, an old friend made new again. While the story is just an encounter one afternoon, the scene itself was very inventive. This is definitely a HFN story.
Great story and very hot. Taylor's ex-boyfriend Adam certainly knew how to keep Taylor cool and hot at the same time. I love Taylor's character, he has a few sides to him which are coming through in the snippets of back story.
In an effort to clean some of the shorter books off my TBR, I decided to give this series a go. I have read and loved several other Diane Adams books.
These books are super short. Even when you read the whole series, there isn’t much plot to speak of. They are well written and very sexy, but there isn’t much chance to connect with the characters. If you’re looking for a quick fix, these might work for you. Just be aware that it’s pretty much porn without a plot.
Another glimpse of Taylor his now got a new boyfriend Adam , still living with z but they not together. Taylor is very hot as in hot and Adams got ice to help him cool down.
