Peace isn’t just his name. It’s his calling. The last thing he needs is a tempting woman with troublemaker written all over her strolling into his small town.
I have no idea what I did to Peace but the man hates me with every breath of his being. Too bad my body lights up like a freaking Christmas tree whenever he struts by wearing his police uniform that hugs his thighs and molds to his ass.
Good thing I have no time for romance since a troublemaker should never get involved with a cop. Even if she is a reformed troublemaker.
Instead, I’m focusing all my energy on convincing my family to forgive me for my past transgressions, because I am not that person anymore.
But Peace isn’t leaving me alone. Of freaking course not. He’s literally blocking me from acquiring the yoga studio in Winter Falls.
I got this. I can convince him I’m not about to bring trouble to this adorably quirky small town.
But somehow instead of proving what a great asset I’ll be to Winter Falls I end up kissing the man. I blame those symmetrical dimples. Or maybe it’s his lush hair. Or his dark chocolate eyes.
Doth the man protest too much? Does Peace not hate me as much as he professes?
Maybe with the help of my sisters and the eccentric townspeople who play matchmaker like it’s their sole purpose in life, Peace and I can not only figure out how to put our differences aside but join forces as a couple.
Can a reformed troublemaker and a police officer have any chance at a happily ever after?
This enemies to lovers small town romantic comedy features a reformed troublemaker who’s way too busy trying to rebuild her life to have time for a man, a police officer who can’t help but take one look at the troublemaker and want despite knowing she’s no good for him, three sisters who don’t understand the word ‘pushy’, and a whole town of hippies convinced they’re the best matchmakers this side of the Mississippi.
Meet Hate is a standalone novel in the Winter Falls ~ Dempsey Sisters series.
D.E. Haggerty is actually just plain old Dena, but she thinks using initials makes her sound like one of the cool kids. She was born and raised in the U.S. but has spent the majority of her adult life abroad living in cool-sounding places like Istanbul, Heidelberg, and The Hague. She has job hopped from military policewoman to lawyer to B&B owner. She finally jumped off the job hopping bandwagon a few years ago when she decided to turn her addiction to romance novels into a career. If anyone has ideas on how to turn a love of wine into a job, she's all ears.
It's finally here! I'm so excited for Peace and Olivia's story to enter the world.
Olivia is a woman on the road to redemption. Peace is a stickler cop who thinks she’s a troublemaker who’s come to his town to create problems. It's no wonder these two became instant enemies. Can these enemies become lovers? It's going to be a bumpy ride. A steamy, bumpy ride with a twist at the end that you won't see coming!
Can you say adorable?! Cause I can, and this one is!!
For many books now, we've heard grumbling about Olivia and her shenanigan ways. I was thrilled when this ARC reached me, as I have been waiting for all in the Dempsey family to be together. And this read didn't disappoint!
Peace is less than welcoming to Olivia when she arrives in Winter Falls, but the Gossip Girls are always up for a challenge. In truth, matching the opposites should have been more difficult! I enjoyed the chemistry between these two, and as always, the quirky characters in this town.
Without spoiling your read, there is so many emotions bouncing around in this one, and I felt for Peace!! While he didn't deal with things like he should have, I sincerely appreciated how the story wrapped up into a satisfying HEA.
I know this can be appreciated as a stand-alone read. It is funny, steamy and easy to connect with these characters. BUT - I am so very glad I knew the backstories of these characters...I think reading in order is the best way to enjoy this series.
I am sad to be "finished" with the Dempseys (and the West sisters), but ... very excited for the next spin-off in Winter Falls, coming soon. (I hope!)
Another fun, cute read in the Dempsey Sisters series!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️
Olivia is trouble - or that’s what everyone calls her. But she’s trying hard to be the new Olivia! Someone who teaches & practices yoga/meditation, and avoids getting arrested.
Peace - and yes, he’s a (police) peace officer - is Mr. Do-gooder. And he does NOT like outsiders to Winter Falls. But is Olivia really an outsider when her entire family are residents?
There’s definitely an instant attraction between these two, and even the town busybodies can’t deter them from getting together quickly. I think this is the spiciest book in the series too!
Read if you enjoy: ⭐️ Enemies to Lovers ⭐️ Man in uniform ⭐️ Opposites attract ⭐️ Insta-attraction ⭐️ Small town ⭐️ Dual POV/first person
Meet Hate is part of a series - I wouldn’t read it as a standalone personally since there is just so much to that town, and the history of the siblings/couples!
I was so bummed thinking we were done with Winter Falls, but thankfully we’re not - can’t wait to read the Braggs’ brothers series!
Thank you to BookSirens and author D. E. Haggerty for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
You know this is going to be good when the police officer is named “Peace”! I love this quirky town of hippies and how the gossip gals are always on the prowl to make the next love match. This is a great twist on the opposites attract trope. This author makes me laugh from start to finish while keeping my fingers crossed that love will actually save the day!

This is the final story of the Dempsey sisters. Olivia is the only sister that did not move to Colorado with Beckett, Cassandra, Elizabeth and Gabrielle. She has been estranged from her family for two years while she works through some issues. She reunites with her family after Beckett and Lilac get engaged but she is not welcomed with open arms by everyone in her family.
Peace has lived in Winter Falls his whole life and is a police officer. He has no time for those who break the law and has little patience with out of towners. He meets Olivia when he pulls her over for driving a gas powered engine in the town and is immediately suspicious hearing that she is related to the other Dempseys when he has never heard of her.
I loved that these two are so unlikely in their stories. Peace is so devoted to upholding the law and Olivia has been in trouble with the law on numerous occasions. Despite her past missteps she has worked hard to turn her life around and is really trying to create a better life for herself which includes opening a business in Winter Falls. Peace doesn't trust her at all and tries to block her attempts at fitting in but Olivia proves herself to be a worthy addition to the town. The usual town cast of characters is included here - the West Sisters and their partners, Dempsey family and their partners, nudist Forrest and as always the Gossip Gals.
This story has an unexpected turn that we haven't seen in previous Winter Falls stories. It will be really interesting to see where the story goes in future books.

This is the last of the Dempsey Sisters stories but thankfully D.E.Haggarty is now introducing another family of brothers to Winter Falls. New Olivia Dempsey smiles sweetly at the grumpy but good looking Police Officer who had rudely pulled her over, old Olivia would have given him a mouthful of abuse and probably got arrested. Olivia was not quite the prodigal daughter, she hadn't seen her siblings for years and not all of them would welcome her with open arms. Winter Falls is a small, completely carbon neutral town founded many years ago by hippies, as far as Officer Peace was concerned Olivia was an incomer and he didn't like incomers even though all Olivia's siblings are happily loved up with long suffering partners in Winter Falls. Olivia is straight away in the sights of the gossip girls as their next victim for matchmaking and guess who the lucky man is....yes, you're right, it's Peace Sky who hates her..........or does he ? This story follows the stormy, blossoming romance between Olivia and Peace, Olivia's determination to leave her past behind and make up with Cassie, her sister who is not very forgiving. I love quaint Winter Falls and all it's quirky residents, I love the gossip girls with their trademark sweatshirts, I love the way that all the town place bets on anything and everything, the competition is fierce, I love the witty banter between the Dempsey sisters, the West sisters and all their long suffering but adoring partners, I now look forward to meeting the Bragg brothers. I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
The infamous Dempsey Sister gets a Winter Falls welcome (and a Match!)
Meet Hate (Winter Falls - Dempsey Sisters Book 4) by D. E. Haggerty brings readers back to quirky Winter Falls. Olivia is on a mission; return to her family’s good graces and begin a new path in her life. This book is an absolute gem of a romcom. From the quirky small town and it’s inhabitants to the Gossip Gals to the characters - both new and old. Turns out Olivia isn’t the self-centered wild child when she arrives and she is set on proving herself to her brother and sisters. Too bad some of the residents are not as welcoming! Enter Peace. He is surprisingly narrow-minded at the start and only after a few eye opening moments does he realize how short-sighted he has been to newcomers, but especially Olivia. The plot is all enemies to lovers and I adore Olivia and Peace together. They are truly a wonderful match in every way. Peace knows how to spice things up making this romcom steamy hot! But there’s more to this couple and romcom than the steam they generate. There’s some emotional healing taking place for Olivia that Peace helps her through. But when Peace is faced with a shocking surprise, he turns into a class A jerk! Overall, there’s nothing to fear. Despite Peace’s backslide into idiocy, he grovels and mends Olivia’s heart. The magic of Winter Falls, with the help of the Gossip Gals, brings another happy couple to their HEA.
Fans of the Winter Falls Series will be familiar with the quirky characters in the small town of Winter Falls, which was founded by hippies in the 1960’s, and claims to be the first carbon neutral town ever.
Olivia Dempsey was the only sister who didn’t move with her brother and sisters to White Bridge after the death of their parents in a motor accident. She stayed in St Louis, and went off the rails, becoming estranged from her family, but turns her life around and arrives in Winter Falls, where two of her sisters are living.
Things don’t get off to a good start for her, as she is pulled over by Peace, a Police Officer in Winter Falls, where there are very strict rules about the type of cars that can be driven in the town.
This is Olivia & Peace’s story, which takes many a twist and turn as they grow close.
If you’re a new reader, you will soon get to know and maybe even love the characters you will meet.
I loved how Olivia and Peace overcome problems in their relationship, with input from her sisters, and interference from the town’s self appointed matchmakers. There is a surprise twist towards the end of the book, which knocks them both sideways, along with the introduction of characters who will appear in the next series, which I am looking forward to very much.

😊What i liked -
✔ Enemies To Lovers/Small Town/Rom-Com. ✔ As usual it is a hoot when the story is centered around Winter Falls and its residents. ✔ I was really inquisitive about Olivia and oh my what a character she was. (i really felt bad on how she was treated) ✔ It was hilarious Beckett trying to be all macho in this one. ✔ This one was more emotional than the rest of the books, though it was bang on with the fun moments and the chaos.
🤔What could have been better -
✔ I loved Peace in the rest of the series of winter falls but I was really disappointed with him in this one. (despite the explosive revelation)
📚Who Should read : 👶Beginners 💝Romance Lovers 💕Enemies To Lovers Romance 🏡Small Town Romance
Winter Falls books have satisfying stories with humor, romance and HEAs. It helps to read the series in order to keep up with the lives of recurring and interconnected characters. In this book, we finally get to meet Olivia. Olivia is Beckett’s troublemaking, rebellious sister. She finally has followed Beckett and her sisters to Colorado. After hitting bottom, she is determined to reconcile with her family and put her wild and semi-lawless days behind her. Meanwhile, the matchmakers of Winter Falls promptly match Olivia with Peace, the quirky town’s hot policeman. Although Olivia and Peace are opposites, they are strongly attracted to each other. I loved their dual points of view and the occasional internal arguments between “old Olivia” and “new, improved Olivia.” As their relationship grows, Olivia is also surprised to find herself becoming a businesswoman and putting down roots. This story has plenty of adult heat and Winter Falls’ unique humor, as well as a few unpredictable twists. As a bonus, there is a little foreshadowing of the next romance on the horizon of Winter Falls. Definitely recommended. I received an advance copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

4.5 Stars The last Dempsey sister is getting her story. Now Olivia I was a little skeptical about after the tid bits from the pervious books. There is so much more to Olivia than what her siblings see. This troublemaker is trying to change her ways. She catches the eye of police officer Peace. She's an outsider to Winter Falls and she has trouble written all over her. Olivia is going to make Peace eat his words because she is going to prove she is not defined by her past. I love that Olivia gets to redeem herself. She fits right in with this quirky town perfectly. This book as the shenanigans and humor I've come to really love when I read a book in Winter Falls. We get a bombshell that sets up a news series, Yay! I'm glad we aren't saying goodbye to this town quite yet. Olivia is getting her fresh start, but it's not without it bumps along the way. She also has to repair her relationship with her sisters as well. She's ghosted them for a couple years. I gobbled up this book. A great fun filled read I recommend!
“Oh boy. She is one pissed off bartender. I hope she doesn’t put laxatives in our drinks.” I better not tell her about the time Cassandra added cherry-flavored milk of magnesia to our cherry vodka sours. It was a shit show. Literally.
I have to admit this town is adorable. It’s quaint and cute. It could be the set of a Hallmark movie. Except there’s a man walking his squirrels down the street.
From now on, I will always treat you the way you deserve.” “Which is?” “As my queen.” She smiles. “You’re a quick learner.”
She’s loved him since she was old enough to understand boys don’t have cooties.
My Review:
This was a fun and lively read laced together with amusing scenarios and unique family issues and flare-ups. The storylines were active and well-paced and occurred in the oddest, most eccentric, and ecologically greenest little hamlet on earth. The concept for this humorous and sexy series was as clever as it was entertaining.
As per usual Haggerty writes an amazing small-town romance in Winter Falls.
I’ve read all of the books within the world of Winter Falls and I have to say that the Dempsey sisters have a special place in my heart and that definitely extended to the introduction and story of Olivia.
The former bad girl falls for the law-abiding police officer, aptly named Peace and its everything you’d expect from this pairing. I love the internal debate that happens for Olivia, her own angel and devil on her shoulder. Of course, what’s a Winter Falls romance without the gossip girls and their matching ways as well as the West sisters. Paired with a little drama, a family secret and a complicated relationship with the law, follow Peace and Olivia on their road to love.
I’m so happy that I don’t have to say goodbye to Winter Falls and we can follow the newcomers, the Braggs Brothers!

I’m a fan of Winter Falls and enjoy the characters that are in them. Every book, we get a sneak peek at another resident of Winter Falls and an outsider. Which is great, cause you see their point of view of areas in Winter Falls that wasn’t really visited in others and also other residents.
In previous books, Olivia is mentioned here and there by her siblings. The image I created of her, reflected what I think the intent was, but she was very different. And with Peace, he’s made an appearance here and there, but we never really got to know him.
This was a good story about opposites attract. And I like how open Olivia is with Winter Falls, because it really helped see more of Winter Falls.
The only thing that was kind of annoying, like the rest of the Dempsey sisters books was…Beckett! I understand the whole big brother and guardian thing, but he needs to take it down a notch.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a review voluntarily.
The latest book in the Winter Falls - Dempsey Sisters series!
Oh Peace, he's one hot guy so of course he looks good in his police uniform, or in his off duty clothes too for matter! But he's definitely got some issues when it comes to looking beyond a girl's past!! Olivia comes to town with her own issues and as much as she is trying to change herself from her bad girl past, she is always just one bad decision away from losing all of the progress that she's made. Opposites definitely attract when it comes to Peace and Olivia and it's just fun to sit back and watch it all play out.
As always the gossip girls are one of the best parts of the story, as well as the way that Beckett reacts when one of his sisters starts hanging with a new guy!!
I'm thrilled that we'll be getting more Winter Falls in our future with D.E. Haggerty's upcoming series featuring the Bragg Brothers!! Can't wait!

This is the fourth book in the Winter Falls-Dempsey Sisters and they are all really good. Olivia finally has come to Winter Falls from St. Louis, MO. Lo and behold it seems like officer Peace doesn’t care much for Olivia. And, her sister Cassandra is still not on speaking terms with her. Olivia has no idea what she is going to do for a living but she gets a break and may be able to buy the yoga studio. I love how the sisters really have each other backs. But can Olivia break her bad Olivia and become the good Olivia?
The gossiping gals and their match making skills are hilarious. They just pop out of nowhere. Is Peace in their sight for the next match making? This is a great series you won’t be disappointed!

Olivia Dempsey, eldest sister and the black sheep of the family has made her way to Winter Falls. On her way into the city she's pulled over for none other than driving a gas guzzling car. She's obviously not from the area and Peace, the police officer who pulls her over, knows it. She may be gorgeous, but those who aren't born and raised in Winter Falls won't stay, right? Especially troublemaker Olivia. And of course the Gossip Gals are here, so you know there's trouble.
I was afraid I wouldn't care for Olivia, but I loved her and the dynamic between her and Peace. Oh and the plot twist at the end of this book. I love it and can't wait for more.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my review.
Absolutely brilliant!!! I received an ARC copy of this book from the author and I'm willingly leaving a review. The last of the Dempsey sisters, Olivia comes to Winter Falls to reconcile with her brother and sister's. Leaving old Olivia behind, she vows to be a better person and make a new life herself. Local police officer Peace has a run in with the new person in town, not having heard of a fourth Dempsey sister, he is not very friendly or welcoming to Olivia (an outsider!) Great fun with the Gossip Gals and the West sister's, lots of bets matching these two unlikely characters. Brilliant, funny storyline, fantastic characters and absolutely loved the HEA. So looking forward to the Bragg Brother's in the next series.
I enjoyed this romance story with all of the characters. The two main characters were Peace and Olivia.
Olivia is the black sheep of her family. She has decided to visit her family in the town of Winter Falls. While driving into town a cop pulls her over and explain the rules of their town because she driving a gas truck that is not allow there. Plus the guy is also quite mean to her.
Peace is a cop in the town of Winter Falls. While on patrol he meets a woman that he pulls over for a truck that is not allow in their town. While telling her the rules he notice that she could be trouble maker.
This was a fun story to read. It had action and drama throughout. It had a few giggles within.
I received a complimentary copy via BookSiren. This is my honest unbiased opinions.
Winter Falls never disappoints even when the black sheep of the family comes to town. Olivia has been estranged from her brother and sisters for a couple years. She’s back to put things right and get her life together. Peace, one of the towns peace officers lol, stops her for driving a gas vehicle in town. Once he runs her license and realizes he’s got a trouble maker in the mix he decides he must keep close tabs to ensure she doesn’t continue her troublesome ways in Winter Falls. In true gossip gal match making fashion, he just can’t seem to keep his heart out of it. This is another great addition to the Winter Falls series. Ready for the magic to work for the brothers next! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Peace is a police officer that hates outsiders coming to his town so when Olivia shows up he is only too happy to pull her over and let her know just how unwelcome she is. The rest of her siblings live in Winter Falls and it has taken her quite a while to work up the nerve to come to town to seek forgiveness and to apologize for her past. She is a reformed troublemaker and plans to stay in town with or without Peace’s blessing. With sparks flying between the two of them, will she be able to prove her worth. This author has such a great way to weave humor as well as romance into her stories, if you can get through a story without laughing, I applaud you.

This is book nine in the series, and I suggest reading them in order to avoid spoilers. Part of this book takes place at the same time as books 6-8, so there will be spoilers if read out of order. Olivia is the black sheep of the Dempsey family, but she wants to change, so she moves to be by her family. Winter Falls is a quirky small town, that doesn’t really trust “outsiders”, which is why Peace is so mean to her when he first meets her. But the matchmakers of the town love a challenge, and what’s more of a challenge than the opposites of a troublemaker and a police officer? You won’t want to stop turning the pages to read this story of Olivia and Peace. You’re also guaranteed to want to move to Winter Falls.
Olivia is an in-progress reforming train wreck. Her life was falling apart but she picked herself up, decided her future-facing priorities and is working on changing her WHOLE self. She wants to part of her family again and works really hard to make up for her past and her actions. Peace is not a lot of help. His stick-up-his-butt, “outsiders are trouble”, suspicious attitude is very detrimental. And when the tables turn and his orderly life hits a bump in the road, he reacts like a real jerk. As always, I read the whole book in a single gulp, shed a few tears and was happy with the ending

crazy and words of wisdom I just love this author, she always makes me laugh out loud with her crazy characters, but she also reminds us of what is really important in life, gets my feet back on the ground, makes me take a look at myself and want to do better in the future. This book is about second chances and about judging people too harshly - none of us want to be treated with prejudice, so we shouldn´t behave this way towards other people. Of course there is a lot of sizzle, matchmaking and crazy - we´re in Winter Falls after all… I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the fourth book in the Dempsey Sisters series which is part of the Winter Falls world. Welcome to Winter Falls, everyone’s a little quirky and definitely a bit crazy. The prodigal Dempsey sister, Olivia, has returned. She's finally got her act together or at least she's trying to but her inner troublemaker still tries to pop her head out. She's completely surprised when she finds herself attracted to Peace one of the towns police officers. Olivia and Peace's story is definitely an opposites attract romance. Laugh out loud funny with plenty of steam, I always enjoy my visits to Winter Falls. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The long awaited book about Olivia!! I am so excited that this came out because I have been patiently waiting to learn more about Olivia and why she abandoned her family.
Olivia is the oldest Dempsey sister who stayed behind in Saint Louis when her siblings moved to Winter Falls. She makes the move finally and is immediately stopped by a police officer, Peace. After that, they continue to run into each other and Peace shows unexplained animosity towards her.
Like all D.E. Haggerty books, this was a total win for me. I loved Olivia and Peach’s relationship and it was great to see Olivia reunited with her family. I love the dynamics in Winter Falls and all the busybodies.
I received an ARC via BookSirens for an honest review.
As always, I love being in Winter Falls! I have to say, I was not exactly excited for Olivia’s book because of things from past books, but I am glad to report I had nothing to worry about!! Meet Hate was the fourth and final book with the Dempsey Sisters. It was quirky, sweet, and full of love!
Olivia was finally ready to settle down and ask her family for forgiveness. She had been a little wild when she was younger but she had recently turned her life around. Except, when she met Peace, he didn’t believe she was in town for the right reasons. Would she be able to convince everyone she deserved a second chance?
What a great ending to these great sisters! Like I said, I was a little leery of Olivia, but in the end, she captured my heart! Loved getting to see her make her way into the hearts of Winter Falls!
Loved it from start to end! I have loved every book I've grabbed by D.E. Haggerty and especially the ones set in Winter Falls. This opposites attract romance is no exception! Olivia is a reformed troublemaker who's stories proceeded her to town and Peace is the town cop and doesn't like outsiders messing up his town. The chemistry between these two is instant even though they both fight it along the way. Luckily the Gossip Gals are committed to helping these two find their way to each other. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This story is enthralling and grabs at your heartstrings. It’ll have you cheering for Peace and Olivia as they take that leap into falling in love. It has a good storyline and is well written. The secondary characters are awesome!!! Love the witty dialogue and the chemistry between Peace and Olivia is hot!!! This series just keeps getting better and better. I’m looking forward to reading Moon and Riley’s story. Highly recommend reading this.
