Griffin thinks he might be watching dragons through his binoculars while he's on a research project for his graduate program. He desperately wants it to be true, but he also wants to warn any dragons that might be up in the Sierra Nevada mountains that his professor wants to study them. He wants to help keep them safe.

Aiden has been solitary a long time when he inherits his aunt's daughter, who he calls his niece, through a terrible accident. He's not sure how to raise her or keep her safe, which seems even worse when Griff shows up. But then he realizes he and Griff are mates, and that he's not solitary anymore. Can he convince Griff they're meant to be together and keep the rest of the world, including whoever is watching them, at bay?

I am addicted to all of these dragons and their families. I have read every one of the books in this Dragon Veil universe world and I can’t get enough of them. I am curious though if any of our solitary dragons will ever meet any of our other dragons. Griff and Aiden are perfect! Lila is adorable. All in all, Griff handled learning about the reality of dragons very well. This is a quick, sweet and hot little story about finding your mate and making your family. No angst reads like this one are my palate cleansers and just make me happy.

Aiden is another fantastic story in the Dragon Veil Universe. Griffin has been watching a Dragon through his binoculars while on a research project. He’s the only one who can see it. He decides to go up the mountain. When he arrives, he meets Aiden. Aiden is a lone dragon taking care of his niece Lila. He lost his whole family through the Veil. This was seriously fantastic! Love the shenanigans that Lila gets up to. This author has a way of creating a magical universe that feels realistic. Well written with addicting pacing!

If you are a regular romance reader, you’ve gotta have that sweetness overload sometimes. This one filled the bill. A nice found family story, loving MCs, and a cute kid.

This is the second book in the Solitary Dragon series, but you do not have to read the first one to make sense of this book. Aiden is an alpha dragon shifter, tasked with taking care of his little niece. Griffin is anthropologist, working alongside an animal behavioral biologist, and they have been observing what seems to be a dragon on a distant mountain peak. Griffin is determined to keep his observations quiet and then decides to warn this mysterious and magical creature. When he finally braves the remote mountain, he injures himself and then runs into the dragon, who just wants to protect his property. Aiden ends up taking care of Griffin’s injury, and then after getting to know each other better, the two start to fall for each other. They soon discover that Griffin is a dragon too and that they are true mates.

I really liked this book. It had a great story, the characters were well developed, and the book was well-written. The MC’s had an immediate, electrical connection, and their chemistry was out of this world hot. Their quick, whirlwind romance was sweet and steamy. Lila was simply precious and made the story so much more special, and I just love the way she said waffles as “worfles.” I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes mpreg and dragon shenanigans.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another short, shifter romance from Minerva Howe, who brings two lovely men who are fated to with each other. Griff finds his way to Aiden up the mountain to warn and protect him against those who are interested in learning about him. What he gets is a man who has come into guardianship of his niece after her parents crossed the Veil. It takes a minute for Aiden to catch up but when they are together, it's like they couldn't be apart.
I enjoy these stories from Minerva. I know what I get when I go into them and I'm a sucker for single dad romances. Mpreg and fated mates is a big part of the story and as it's a shorter book, everything moves pretty quickly but it feels natural for the way their relationship goes. Lila is the most adorable little girl who you can't help but fall in love with and we get to meet a character who popped up in book one again. I understand that the series is called Solitary Dragons but the thing missing for me, that I loved in her other books, is that sense of family and friendship. The story does stand strong on it's own though, and is an enjoyable read, extremely low angst with love and happiness quick to develop.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Working on a project for his graduate studies, Griffin is sure he sees dragons through his binoculars. He wants that to be true but he also wants to keep them safe. He resolves to try and find the dragon and warn him that the professor wants to study him. Aiden is surprised when Griffin shows up with a warning. He is raising his aunt’s daughter and had put up strong wards. He must keep her safe. His surprise turns to delight when he realizes that Griffin is his mate. Now Aiden must convince Griffin to stay and keep them all safe from the rest of the world.

Solitary Dragons is turning out to be an amazing series. Here we have Aiden trying to figure out how to raise a young girl while also finding his mate. Griffin is looking to protect them and finds so much more. The two mesh together perfectly and have some scenes together that are amazing. The story is fun and exciting and makes you want more. There is one aspect that was the same in this book and in Archer. Pick up this one to find out. You will be glad you did.

Aiden and Griff were adorable!

I really enjoy the solitary dragon series because it’s all about people who feel all alone in the world finding their family. I love Minerva’s books because they focus on found family and these books in a way are that bit more special because the dragons have no one but find their special people. Aiden and Griff had no one (Aiden did have Lila, but whilst she was amazing it’s not the same as having adult family). Finding each other gave them the chance to build something and be able to seek the comfort family provides. I loved how Griff was so protective of Aiden and Lila before he even met them. His genuine desire to keep dragons safe was so sweet. Once they actually meet and spend some time together they were so cute. Griff handled a pretty big change in his life really well and Aiden and Lila were there to support him when things got overwhelming. I’m really looking forward to the next sweet little solitary dragon story!

Trust your gut and follow through! Griffin's group had been watching the mountains for over a year. Prof Della McKnight was doing research of the 'animals'. Griff, thought the creatures might be dragons & were magical, but he didn't tell the team his thoughts. The rest of the team, was easily bored, not seeing much activity. Griff's Dads raised him on mythical stories, so he was open to a wider explanation of what he saw. He kept his idea of 'dragons' a secret from the team. He felt driven to warn the 'dragons' that they were being watched. Aiden, was doing his best to raise his niece, Lila. His entire family had crossed the veil. When they met accidentally, they each felt a spark. Can Griffing keep Aiden's secret? Great story. Good flow, Lila is a delight. This story is Ms Howe's usual romance with an absolutely delightful family. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. Hot cover art!

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.5 stars

This is a sweet and tender, mpreg, dragon-shifter romance with little angst and lots of family. Lila is cute, and her trauma really bonds both Griff and Aiden to her. She’s a supreme voice of reason, which was a fun juxtaposition. There is a call back from the previous book in the Solitary Dragons series, in the form of a single common character. This story has less “developing parenthood” than “instant family” vibe. Expect a touch of steam and a lot of family. It’s a really quick read.

If you like mpreg or dragon shifter stories, this book is as quick and easy as Griff getting pregnant.

Fate sometimes needs a helping hand

I very much enjoyed this second entry of the Solitary Dragons. It can certainly function as a standalone, as the only link is a visit from Stormy, the roaming dragon midwife. Aiden is a struggling single “father” to his niece Lila while Griff is a graduate student who was raised to believe in dragons by his own fathers, even if he doesn’t know that he is one or believes that he deserves to be. The bond between Aiden and Griff is almost instantaneous, but what really holds everyone together is young Lila. She is so precocious and full of spunk, having better instincts than the adults. This really is a rather charming quick fluff read.

Aiden was such a fun and sweet novella in Minerva Howe’s Dragon Veil Universe! Griff has been studying the dragons and fudging the information to keep them safe - he feels a connection to them and abandons his post to track them down and warn them. Aiden and his niece Lila have been living a solitary life, trying to stay under the radar but still get out of the house. When Griff shows up in their clearing, things change quickly and they become a sweet family with a little help from Stormy the traveling dragon midwife. Sweet story with cute characters and I can’t wait to read more in this universe!

So, dragons are real, and one is your... mate... huh.

What a fantastic second book! I did not want to put it down. Stayed up way too late, nearly falling asleep with my phone in my hand. I fell in love with dragon Aiden and his niece Lila, and Griff, who wants to save them from discovery. But you can't fight fate and biology; especially if you are a latent dragon. This is such a sweet, sexy romp. Look for a precocious little girl, unexpected pregnancy, and an appearance by everyone's favorite baby birth helper, Stormy. I can't wait for you to read this... you are gonna love it! And please, read the first book. You will be glad you did.

I began reading Minerva books ages years ago and have been completely hooked. Each series continues to get better. The characters are the sweetest and perfect for one another.

Aiden was left to care for his niece after her mothers crossed the veil. She loves to go flying, so he took her up and that's how he was spotted by Griff.
Feeling the pull and determined to meet this dragon - he was supposed to warn him. Instead, he becomes injured and ends up at Aiden's home.
Once they meet, the pull becomes too great. Despite a few obstacles, they make their newfound family work and grow.

Aiden and Griff are both characters that are easy to love. They are perfect for each other, and well, I guess that's why they are mates. But, the credit goes to the author for making the connection apparent.

The secondary characters really enhanced this book. It was nice to visit with a character that appeared in the first book. I like him and am hoping to see him again in the series. But, little Lila stole the show. She was absolutely adorable, and I can’t imagine the book without her.

Aiden is a very nice addition to the Solitary Dragon series.

Fantastic!

This book is amazing and I loved it! Aiden and Griffin will meet when Griffin goes to warn him they’ve been spotted. Things will heat up quickly for the two as Aiden realizes who and what Griff is to him. Griff will worry about what he left behind but with the help of Aiden, Aiden’s wonderful niece Lila and a friendly dragon named Stormy, Griff will find his happily ever after in the arms of his very own dragon!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

I’m so happy!!!

What a great read. And yes I do want more. I can’t get enough of Minerva’s dragons and their world. It’s funny how most of the story was Aiden, Griff, and Lila ( who shined the brightest btw) yet I feel like Lila, Stormy, and indirectly Belinda kind of stole the limelight here. Actually I found that to be a nice change and made the story more realistic to me. Yeah I know that sounds weird when this is about dragons but trust me you’ll see what I mean when you read it. I’d read them all if I was you. I plan to do so again.

I'm not sure I'm going to read any more in this series. These solitary dragons don't have the fun family around to cause chaos and hijinks, so I feel like these stories lack something. And of course, it's the same formula in this author's catalog: dragon meets clueless mate, human discovers dragons exist (and he is one), "What do you mean, I'm pregnant?!?", baby comes, all is right in the world. I want to know how Griff just drops his entire life, including grad school, like it was nothing. That made me a little mad.

Loved it. Griffin is in the mountains with colleagues to study the wildlife. He was looking through the binoculars when he saw, what he thought, was a dragon. He takes it upon himself to climb the mountain to be sure. He twisted his ankle but met Aiden on the way. Aiden helps him to get to the house to see about his ankle. When Griffin realizes where he is, he blurts out that Aiden is a dragon. They were so cute together - then Aiden realized they were mates. Loved Lila, she was so adorable. Sweet read about fated mates and a baby. Looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

I’m really very fond of this Dragon Veil universe. In this, the second Solitary Drago book, we meet Dragon Aiden who is struggling with life. His only family is a baby he’s inherited care of. He’s lonely!
Griffin, despite Aiden’s wards can still see him, goes dashing up the mountain to warn and protect the potential dragon..
Mates! What more can I say?
This is a quick to read, hot story with lots of humour, a brilliant baby, very little angst, but loads of feels. I enjoy these so much and look forward to every one that’s released.

Book 2 I'm feeling a little bit more than book one. I love how Griffin meets Aiden...how it seemed liked they were "pulled" inexplicably together. Lila was the bestest...she added sooooo much joy and happiness to this sweet romance...and I can't forget Stormy...he is a important force to these romances and so glad he's there when the guys are in need. He's a delight and makes this series all around entertaining and special. Can't wait to read more!

Griffin and Aiden story was hilariously endearing, with a sweet girl, a beautiful cat, an unexpected help and a bundle of joy that will make your heart grow.
I liked the way those two met and how easily Griffin bonded with the girl and cat, how sweet they are together and their protectiveness.
Loved how their relationship blooms, their love and how their family grown with a adorable bundle of joy.
It was a pleasurable read and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.

The second book in this new dragon series. Griffin grew up hearing about dragons and so badly wanted to see one. Part of a research group, he realized he had to protect the dragons he found. Aiden, raising his niece, had no idea he was being watched. Until Griff showed up and love blossomed. Building a family together, learning how to be a dragon, along with their secret dragon nanny, these two have a forever love.

Aiden is a dragon living in solitude and he is not supposed to be able to be seen by humans. Well Griffin is a young college student who does in fact see Aiden! I loved the right from the start Griffin is loyal to the dragons and their possible need to not be noticed. He does not tell anyone, but he seeks out his Dragon on his own!! There is more to Griffin that we find out! These two make a sweet pair along with Aiden's found daughter Lila who is super cute. A nice and easy quick read!

Griff feels the urge to protect what he is sure is a dragon. Aiden finds Griff in the forest and works our fairly swiftly he has found his mate. It's a sweet dragon awakening love story. The character who almost stole the show is Aiden's niece Lila. Her lines are wonderful and she is adorable. And of course the hidden midwife strikes again. I loved it all! Stormy the traveling secretive dragon midwife strikes again! The dragon world the author has created is fun with varying characters. While I miss the sense of community that's missing from the Solitary Dragons series, the addition of the magical midwife is a great bridge.

I love Minerva Howe's Dragon's Universe! and this book 2 in the Solitary Dragon's series is not exception. Aiden and Griffin's love story is simply sweet and perfect. I enjoyed so much how everything fell into place to get them together as a family and the part Lila played on it. A low angst, beautiful story! I can't wait for more!

Absolutely loved this one but then I love all Minerva Howe’s dragons. It was lovely to join Aiden, Lila and Griff as they became a family; they are all so sweet together. The ‘help’ was a pleasant surprise too (read book one, you’ll be glad you did). All in all, I thoroughly recommend this book and am looking forward to what comes next.

Griffin knows what he is seeing even if no one else is seeing it. The next day he can, Griffin goes searching to warn the dragon that he has been seen. What he is not expecting to find is Aiden and his adorable niece, Lila, or that he is right about dragons.

This is a book/series that is set in the Dragon Veil series but it's not necessary to have read any of them to understand the book.
