Four guys living in Los A rock star, a rebel, an artist, and a shaman. Like most students at Turney High School, they're just trying to survive. But for these four--Renegades on the run from the sinister world of Nefandus--survival means learning how to control their powers and fulfill their destiny as Sons of the Dark
Lynne Ewing is an American author and a screen writer.
She always had to move around a lot when she was growing up because her father was in the Marine Corps. She has two sisters. Lynne graduated from high school in Lima, Peru after attending seven other schools. While she was in Peru, she learned to speak Spanish. She attended the University of California at Santa Barbara. When she was 30 years old, she began writing for newspapers, documentaries, magazines, and did screen writing. She also counsels troubled teens. Her first books were Drive-By and Party Girl. Drive-By took six years to write, and Party Girl has been made into a movie called Living the Life. She has written the completed Daughters of the Moon and Sons of the Dark series. She lives in Los Angeles and Washington D.C.. Ms. Ewing has two children, Jonathan, a molecular biologist, and Amber, an international lawyer. She has also traveled to Japan, China, Russia, Europe, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand. She has begun a new series called Sisters of Isis.
Finally, I finished this series with no resolution or prophecy-fulfilling deeds. The whole series turned out to be an introduction to each character. Berto's story did not have the depth or intrigue I wanted to find in his story. His powers are unique, but he never learned more about them. Their story should continue in 'Daughters of the Moon,' but I have not finished that series yet. The jump through history is still one of the most intriguing parts of this series, but it did not meet my expectations.
This is the fourth and final installment of Sons of the Dark series. My copy was 259 pages, and I feel that this series isn't over yet. But I can't be for sure. In this book, the guys are faced with students from Turney High are disappearing. And the only traces of them left behind are perfect black circles burned into the pavement. Berto has a different theory and in the end it will mean traveling to Nefandus to try and save those missing students. So Four will venture in, but only one will venture out. I would recommend this book to anyone who has read the first three books or likes to read supernatural stories.
I guess Samuel wasn't the only non-idiot. In fact, I think the only idiotic things Berto did were risk himself for Ashley who is clearly a conniving bitch, but at least she had her reasons. He obviously loved her, though, and people have done really stupid things for love. At least he was consistent.
I thought this one was actually decent compared to the rest, but it ended without the fulfilling of the Legend of Four prophecy. I'm hoping they'll wrap all of that up in the final Daughters of the Moon book.
I know I've mainly reading Lynne Ewing's books as kind of like the appetizer before a meal, but this...considering that I was pretty sure it was the end of a series.... I was thoroughly disappointed. There were so many loose ends, and any kind of fighting felt a bit cheesy. So, I'm not sure if there were more supposed to come out or if the Daughters of the Moon series was supposed to finish for this series or what. In either case, definitely not a favorite.
I really enjoyed this! It was on clearance for $0.25 at Big Lots, so what was the risk? I soared through the story and wanted to hear more. The only reason I didn't go out and read the first three is because the storyline ended with THIS book! Phht! No fair!
I didn't know this was the fourth and last book of a somewhat series. Maybe I would have liked it more if I had read the other books first but to me this book wasn't great, not terrible either. Just meh.
I'm so sad this is the last of Lynne's works in this series!!! I have collected all the Daughters of the Moon and Sons of the Dark books as I've grown up over the years, and love to do a quick re-read of them when I'm feeling nostalgic.
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW MANNNNNNNNNNNN i hate it when i finish a good series!!!!!!!!!! sadly i don't remember what happens to them at the end of the daughters of the moon series............. :'(
