The updated and most complete edition of Napoleon Hill's masterwork. Napoleon Hill stunned America when he published his first edition of The Law of Success. It had taken Hill twenty years to research and write. He had personally met with hundreds of the most famous self-made multimillionaires so he could study their habits, analyze their methods, and learn their secrets of success. After further testing and proving his theories, Napoleon Hill refined them into 17 basic principles that anyone could master and use.
Oliver Napoleon Hill was an American self-help author and conman. He is best known for his book Think and Grow Rich (1937), which is among the best-selling self-help books of all time. Hill's works insisted that fervid expectations are essential to improving one's life. Most of his books were promoted as expounding principles to achieve "success". Hill is a controversial figure. Accused of fraud, modern historians also doubt many of his claims, such as that he met Andrew Carnegie and that he was an attorney.
This is part of the source material from which "Think and Grow Rich" is derived, and I was happy to read it. There are lessons dealing with Doing More Than What You Are Paid For, Pleasing Personality, Accurate Thinking, and Concentration. He includes stories and examples of his points to back up his assertions, and I learned a bunch more interesting "behind the scenes" information I hadn't before heard for both Napoleon Hill and several of the people featured, such as Henry Ford and Clement Stone. Some of the information in the principles was new, but most I had already been exposed to through derivative teachings, and writings of others. A couple of times, there were "a-ha" moments. I enjoyed it, as it helped to re-anchor and drive it deeper, which is the desired result. I'm now looking forward to reading the remaining volumes.
