Questa terza parte di Light and Shadow fa male al cuore e si conferma come una storia non scontata e realista, nelle scelte fatte dai personaggi e le conseguenze che subiscono. Dopo il funerale del padre, si potrebbe ingenuamente pensare che, con il suo nuovo status, Keydestas renderà ora l'ambiente più accomodante per se stesso e per il suo amante straniero... diciamo che non ne avrà l'opportunità. Il protagonista terrestre Alan, viene a conoscenza della strategia di guerra che l'Oenclar sta perseguendo per colpire le forze nemiche, le implicazioni di tale strategia sono preoccupanti e aumentano il rischio che il nostro mondo corre. Alan, nonostante il suo innamoramento, non accetta la strategia adottata, giudicata inaccettabile, e decide di prendere in mano la situazione lasciando l'Oenclar, Keyd, Rysa, e i suoi nuovi amici Oen conosciuti nel libro precedente. Inizia cosi una fase di questa storia consternata da tradimenti, cuori messi alla prova, doppiogiochismo e tanto coraggio. Questa nuova avventura in solitaria porta Alan a interfacciarsi, conoscere e valutare, la fazione avversa a tutto ciò che conosce, e che fino a questo momento si è rilevata soltanto minacciosa e molto perseverante.

Oh my gosh, major cliff-hanger! I wanted to punch Keyd in the face, he was a bit of a jerk in this one. I am sitting on the edge of my seat eagerly awaiting the next installment to find out what happens! Such an addictive read.

Yes! Strike!
This story is getting better and better, I've read without pausing cause I was so spellbound.

I can strongly recommend this story, I'm totally in love with this series and Alan, Keyd and the whole bunch, these are characters which stick with you for a long, long time.
I'm sure I'll re-re-re-read every piece of this series when I'm done.

I love this series, but reading this book, for me, was like watching an episode of Seinfeld where you just know that George is going to do something REALLY stupid and get caught. Lots of angst and stupid choices.

Oh my cliff-hanger! What is going on! I am really loving this series! I am loving Keyd a little less here but still, WOW! Each little bit gets better and better! I need more now! This is a series you will want to read all in order! I cannot put this story down!
