Such an engaging story, full of sex, scandal and beautiful people. I was hooked to it immediately. However I must say, the ending is so abrupt that it's a bit of a let down.

For a summer read, this would be a fun one to choose. Definitely keeps a person captivated.

I was not sure that I was going to be able to get through this book as I read the first couple of chapters. It is a long book and it started out slow but soon became very interesting with a lot of twists and turns, the ending was definitely not what I saw coming!

If you’ve never heard of this book, that’s probably because it was written in 1987. My bias is about to shine, but I had NO CLUE that a book in 1987 would be as racy as this book was. It’s about Hollywood, so I guess I should’ve seen it coming, but wow…

The synopsis sounded juicy and just like the kind of Hollywood drama I like. It ended up being superfluous and entirely too boring to keep me hooked. Even when there was drama, it was stupid. The person we are supposed to hate had no redeeming qualities or complexity. The only ounce of complexity she’s given comes at the end and is handled poorly, if you ask me. The name dropping totally ages this book, too.

A cool (free!) book, buttttt I would never recommend it to anyone!

I had read this as a teenager and thought it was racy then. Yes it has steamy sex scenes, and a twisted ending, but the rest is so jam packed full of name dropping (names that are meaningless in today's world) and places such emphasis on names: brand names, star names, fashion names, etc. it became boring. Most characters are described by "who" they are wearing, what hot place they are going, etc. As I mentioned, many of these names are no longer known today, so they meant nothing as I read them, they were just superfluous words, boring!!! And the names were used to such excess!! I don't think anyone does that in novels today, I think they'd be sued!! LOL
