I won the Give Away from http://paranormalkiss.webs.com/

Wow Wow Wow! Awesome book, it was totally HOT! I loved this paranormal romance, it had a lot of great erotica scenes in it and was action packed with Skriker (human/demon) and Rose (human/angel) hunting down all evil especially the ones who had killed some of their families. I totally loved the battle between Lilith's daughter and Skriker and he did her justice by blowing a firery hole in her head. I was like "take that you bitch". I totally got into it.

I loved the originality of the characters in their true form where vampires are blood suckers and pure evil along with ghouls and demons. This book shows the darker and gory side of the blood suckers - they werent all hansom and sexy, they were grotest with wicked looking teeth and slava hanging out of their mouths or with their fangs sunk into a rat or birds head.

Skriker was so hot, I mean a guy who is well endowed that can still have a bulge in his pants making him look hard even when he is not hard - the guy is definitly packing a good pieace of meat - LOL A very fast read and I couldnt turn the pages fast enough. Great Read!

Audio review 🎧

Having read the book many years ago I was delighted to discover that it was now on audio! A book written with vivid, detailed descriptions, it offers a form of paranormal story which encompasses both love and horror, an alternative narrative of the creation myth and a cast of strong, interesting characters. I love the manner in which we are given the full lives of both Eric/Black Dog and Rose/Rebel Rose, as the story progresses. The overall impact is of a graphic novel brought ro life. Jeremy Frazier adds to the story with his narration. He supports the story development well. I do feel that his female voices were challenging and, at times the editing made the transitions between characters and events somewhat unclear. These, however cannot take away from Jeremy's skill at telling a very good story in a manner which meant I was engaged and keen to keep listening throughout. 💖💖💖💖💖

4 Cups Review from Coffee Time Romance:

"With a cascade of dark curls and a body loaded with lush curves, she looks like an angel, but that is only half the story. Rose is a ferocious and relentless hunter in search of the demons who killed her mother. A loner, she prefers to track down and deal with her prey by herself; she does not need or want help from anyone, including her father.

He looks like Billy Idol and kisses like a devil, which is probably because he is the son of a beautiful Swedish stripper and the True Native of Hell who gave up everything to be with his human love. Skriker is as skilled a lover as he is a demon hunter and with his fascinating tattoos and sinewy body, he leaves a trail of satisfied women and dead demons in his wake.

While dispatching another evil demonic being, Rose learns of an abandoned town settled by vampires, but when she arrives there, she meets up with a fellow hunter and is forced to work with him to destroy their common enemy. Surprised to find a female hunter already staking out his quarry, Skriker looks into her eyes, which surprisingly are two different colors and knows she is his future. But how will Rose feel when she discovers her sexy new partner carries the very blood of the creatures she has sworn to extinguish?

Danielle D. Smith delineates in raw detail the destructiveness in a world full of destiny and demons. From the very first sentence, the reader is pulled into a violent and brutal existence where two gorgeous individuals with tragic pasts fight their way to their own serenity. Skriker and Rose are strong characters who cannot be overlooked in either their actions or appearance. Our hero is as bad as a bad boy can get and yet, maybe, it is the Catholic schoolgirl in me, but I could not help but find him attractive and intriguing. Rose is the kind of superhero I always wanted to be, gorgeous and deadly. The type of woman men can only dream about. The details in the description of this story were fantastic and the wry humor was greatly appreciated in the face of such brutally honest demon butt kicking. This is not a meek and mild vampire love story but rather an edgy and graphic tale of hope. Hope that relative goodness will defeat evil and that we all have a soul mate out there just waiting for us."

I have been eyeing this one off for a while now and held off for a while only because I live in Australia and was umming and ahhhhing about having to pay for international delivery. So of course the solution was Kindle!!! God love the internet I tell you.
What caught my eye first with this novel was its cover design, which I found out was done by the author. Amazing artist and amazing author. The main character Skriker had my heart throbbing from the start, his bad boy rep hitting me hard. And to find he is half human, half demon kinda turned me on even more. Danielle's fight scenes were awesome to say the least and the love scenes quite raunchy, not much being held back I can tell you that.
But what I loved the most was how her characters showed a different side to themselves later in the story. I found it great that Skriker had a soft side hiding under that rough exterior. Although I'm sure he doesn't want that advertised. LOL. The belle of the ball was a hunter named Rose that he meets in a town of vampires and ghouls, and their relationship grows from there.
The only disappointment I found was that it wasn't long enough as it left me wanting more.
Great book, great author, great characters. A must read for any paranormal or erotic fans.

Rose and Striker's story was a combination of sweet forbidden love and ass-kicking hunters who rid the world of evil...while having fun doing it. Packed with gritty action scenes and gruesome details this story does the horror genre proud. Not to mention the sex scenes steam it up also. Overall, this was a good quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed!

I had heard ‘talk’ about this book prior to reading, and I must say, it did not disappoint. For a new author Danielle Smith, has a good writing voice, a good vocabulary, and good descriptive talents.

Black Dog and Rebel Rose, a Novella at 156 pages does not miss any main element for its size.

I only say this, as many readers sometimes pass up a book like this because they want "a big one", not remembering that sometimes "size doesn’t matter".

Black Dog is Skriker’s nickname. He is a handsome blonde biker who has charmed a myriad of woman to his bed. He is human hunter and half? He meets Rose a beautiful female human hunter and half? They both have come upon a deserted town they had heard being infested with Vampires. Skriker pulls up on his Harley , to find a beautiful motorcycle a Ducati Monster parked under a tree. Of course the owner is Rose.

This is where the story rolls into high gear and gets good. The book is a page turner. Ms Smith kicks up the fighting that is fast and furious with great descriptiveness. The love story and hidden lies helps make Skriker and Rose click. The trust grows from their first meeting. You can feel the desire and respect grow.

Rose finds out about Skrikers past. When he tries to save her life during a fight with the enemy,he exposes his other half to her. The final obstacle is Skriker finding Rose’s secret. Will they be able to overcome what and who they are besides born enemies?

Again I must say, this is a great story to curl up with, on a comfy couch , on a cold winters afternoon. Add a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy !

this is a short but enticing tale of demons, angels and vampires in a modern take on the classic duel between good and evil. the hero is the devilishly handsome, harley-riding 'bad boy' that every girl wants. the heroine is the vivacious goddess that all guys fantasize about....but she's a loner...cold, distant, aloof. she's a girl on a mission to slay demons and vamps in a world that seems to be overrun by evil. between bouts of satisfying his lust by breaking hearts, the hero is on a similar quest. these two meet by chance during their seperate hunts, and all hell breaks loose. this is a fine story written in fiery prose. you are instantly sucked into the world of these delicious characters, with action that is fast, vivid and gruesome, though described in articulate detail. the love story and sex scenes are also raw, vivid and very hot! the author speaks with a decidedly female flare...and one tends to live in her fantasies as she displays her dark secrets on the pages for the reader's enjoyment. whether describing action and violence or love and sex, the author paints lush, unrepressed colorful pictures thru expressive prose and fluid dialogue. i would have enjoyed the story more if it had been a bit longer with a more complex plot...but this is an impressive panorama of fantasy and action....love, sex and violence (a great combination, in my humble opinion). it's not for young children. but it is meant for dreamers, lovers and anyone with a motorcycle....or a sword they want to use on a demon like a meat-slicer.

this is a saucy, juicy, bloody little book that i can gladly recommend!

Black Dog and Rebel Rose by Danielle D. Smith is an erotic, action packed and entertaining read. It is about Demon hunters Rose and Skriker. They each have a secret that they keep hidden from most. Both are tough dynamic characters. Their paths cross in Paradise Hills, an abandoned town rumored to house a large population of vampires. There they find what they were looking for as well as what they weren't. Their chemistry sizzles from the first meeting and they soon discover they must work together in their hunt. Together they battle forces of evil and discover love. They also discover each others secret.

I read "Psyche's Gate" previously so parts of this book saddened me, though it provided that catalyst that helped to shape one of the main characters of this book. The world and characters in this book are connected to "Psyche's Gate" however one can easily be read without reading the other.

I really enjoyed Black Dog and Rebel Rose. It flowed nicely and was well written. The characters and descriptions were wonderfully done and a joy to read. The chemistry between Rose and Skriker was sizzling. The action described in such a way that it came alive in my imagination. The dialog was expertly done. The love story was touching and fun to read

This is the second book I have read by Danielle D. Smith and I liked it even better then the last. I look forward to more books from her.

I went into this with high hopes and I am sad to say I am disappointed. I think the author tried to fit too much into the story and I felt no connection with the characters, or between the characters. The dialogue and pacing did not work for me either. For example, upon meeting the day before, one of the characters muses on how they should have "done this a long time ago". Maybe my copy was missing some chapters?

I did like the idea behind the story, the setting and the characters back stories. I think that if this had been written as a full length novel and the author had a chance to go into more detail, not to force things so much, I would have enjoyed this a bit more.

What Two Lips Reviews says about Black Dog and Rebel Rose:

5 KISSES/STARS
WINNER OF THE RECOMMENDED READ AWARD AND THE REVIEWER'S CHOICE AWARD

A dying demon's tip leads Rose to an abandoned town off the beaten path, a place once called Paradise Hill that's no more than an unfortunate run-down shadow of the nice little place it once was, a place where people worked and kids went to school. Now, it shelters things that go bump in the night: vampires, ghouls...and the worst of the worst. Demons. Just what Rose is looking for. As a hunter, it's her job – and her pleasure – to rid the human world of such deviant abominations.

Skriker does two things well. Fuck and kill demons. Women and his father's kind fell at his feet, though in different ways. Handsome as sin, he was glorious to behold, both in bed and in battle against the same monsters that had killed his mother and little brother and dragged his old man off to Lucifer knew where when he was just eleven. Half human, his demon side provides him with all sorts of useful weapons, from his inner hellfire to the black claws that pop out of his fingertips when he shifts into the hideous beast that lurks beneath his rock star looks.

When Skriker arrives in Paradise Hill to hunt the derelict town's newly reported nest of vampires, he finds that another hunter has arrived before him. And Rose, he quickly discovers, doesn't like to share. Skriker has always been able to love 'em and leave 'em, but Rosie...she's not like any woman he's ever known. She's big, tough, and dangerous. And her inner light intrigues the hell out of him, no pun intended. From where did she draw such pure white power? Who was she? And where does she come from?

As they work their bloody way through the vampires and ghouls residing in the Paradise Hill Elementary School, Skriker finally discovers why Rose has a set of wings tattooed on her back. But it's when Rose discovers what Skriker really is that she must decide where her heart lies. Is she with him? Or against him? Zafira, the demon daughter of Lilith, might have something to say about that, since she wants Rose dead in the very worst of ways.

Sequel to Psyche's Gate (Liquid Silver Books), Black Dog and Rebel Rose by Danielle D. Smith is the best Urban Fantasy love story I've ever read. It's a short but action-packed adventure centered around the most unlikely of couples – one of darkness, the other of light. One rides an All-American Harley, the other a “Eurotrash” Ducati. He carries a shotgun, she carries a Glock, and they can both slice and dice with ninja accuracy. Together, they deal in blood, gore, and bodily fluids. Believe me, their raunchy sex does more than just fill up pages. It's profound and entrancing. And most of all it's love – pure, deep, and intense. Each would give his or her life for the other. And you know that they will stand side-by-side against any adversity, something that both Zafira and Rose's all-powerful father find out rather convincingly.

Skriker is tough, strong, and determined to wipe out every single demon single-handedly if he has to. Yet, there's a depth of heart to him that allows him to cry with and for someone else. I loved that about him, even more than I loved his blonde sex appeal. And HE...IS...HOT, ladies! Black leather-clad HOT! In all respects, Rose is his perfect foil. She's a black-haired bitch on wheels, a hard-core killer in combat boots and a body-hugging’ jerkin. But her soul is the other half of his. Together, they're better than Bonnie and Clyde. Better than Bogart and Bacall. Better even than peanut butter and jelly.

Ms. Smith is now hard at work turning Black Dog and Rebel Rose into a graphic novel and screenplay. I would love to see her write a story about Skriker's father, who – if he's even half as tough as Skriker – just has to be alive somewhere and in need of his own Rosie to rescue him.

5 STARS

I'll give my own book a 4 star...while this is still the book that was the most fun to write, everything has room for improvement! :-) I thank everyone kindly for their honest opinion of my work, and wish you all happy reading!

Non-Stop Action and Sizzling Sex

Known, among friend and foes alike, by his nick name Black Dog, Skriker had it all. He was handsome as sin and had amazing prowess when it came to satisfying a willing multitude of eager ladies or fighting ferocious battles against the evil denizens from hell and beyond. Yet he was also burdened - and blessed – with a secret. Alone and free with no room for pesky entanglements, that was the life he lived and the life he cherished, until, by chance, he met Rose.

Alluring and with an otherworldly beauty, Rose also carried a secret. She, too, was a top-notch warrior with sharply honed combat skills. Rose delighted in seeking out and wiping out all things evil. Determined to live life on her own terms, Rose was a loner with no room for romantic entanglements, until, by chance, she met Skriker.

Meeting by chance in the abandoned ruins of Paradise Hills, Rose and Skriker are instantly attracted to each other. Breaking their own rules, they fight together to clear the forsaken city of its evil inhabitants. It is during the course of their adventures together that secrets are unintentionally exposed – secrets that could mean the damnation of them both.

It is technically, I guess, a sequel to Psyche’s Gate but this book was easily able to stand alone on its own merits. While Psyche’s Gate was, for me, defined by its lyrical writing and brooding, gothic atmosphere I found Black Dog and Rebel Rose much more fun overall and easier to read – a rollicking fantasy romp.

This novella hooked me from the very first page. With non-stop, breath-taking action and sizzling hot sex scenes, the author effortlessly pulled me into the story of Skriker and Rose. The chemistry between the two protagonists was just delightful. Their conversations, at times poignant, were skillfully crafted. This was a fun, well-written yarn that should appeal to readers who enjoy tough, no-nonsense leading characters who are able to extradite themselves from sticky situations using intelligence and guile. It was superb entertainment for my Sunday afternoon. I Loved It!!

I've never read anything by this author, but her blurb on Goodreads described the hero as "hawt", and hinted at erotic scenes to make you sweat. Plus it was being offered at a reduced price by Amazon, so I bought it.
I was not pleased that I didn't get a cover with my novel.
I was pleased that on the first page she quoted from Puscifer, one of the bands featuring Maynard of Tool. Maynard loves women and sex, and many of Puscifer's songs celebrate that in the most sexual way that they can.

Black Dog and Rebel Rose are both demon hunters...each has a different reason for doing it, but they are both very good at what they do. They hunt, torture, and kill demons...vampires among them. Since I'm really tired of sexy vampire romances, I was glad to see vampires more like Nosferatu than Twilight. These walking dead deserved to die, and they were spectacularly dispatched by both hunters. That's what I found unpleasant. The descriptions of the killings of the demons took up a whole lot of space. I guess if you are writing for a male audience, that's what you do. As a woman looking for the "hawt" hero and the erotic romance, I was a bit let down. They do get down to it, then they do some more killing. Then they fight, then kill more demons, then do the deed again. Repeat again. There is a HEA ending, because these two are fated to be together. I guess.

If you like zombie-killing and demon-blasting, this is your book. I may let my husband read it before I delete it. And maybe my sons who play violent video games like Duke Nuke'em might enjoy the splatter. Me, not so much.

“My name is Skriker, a name I gave to myself because I can’t remember the one my mother gave to me, and I am a hunter of all things that dwell in the dark. I kill vampyres, werewolves, shifters, demons, ghouls, and anything else you can think of that fucks with what’s good in the world. I am half True Native, the son of a collector demon born in the Pit. My father was evil, for a very long time. I admit that. But then he met my mother, a human, a stripper, and he fell in love, and it changed him. “

It’s been a while since I have visited my favourite hunter couple. I was introduced to Skriker and Rose five years ago when I discovered Dani Smith’s awesome hunter world. The front cover of the original print of this caught my eye and I have never looked back. Dani’s world has grown and expanded fantastically over these last few years, novels, artworks, comics and yes a soon-to-be movie!! When I heard she was revamping the original story I just knew I had to read it again.
Dani’s hunter world is a dirty playground of bloods, vampires and demons; and who better to send their asses back to hell than Skriker, a demon Halfling hell bent on wiping the fiends off this world. Unless of course you meet Rose, who kicks demon ass just as hard as Skriker, and when the two clash and bump heads on the same hunt shit is definitely going to fly.
A story of a Beauty and her Beast, a tale told like no other. And this is only the beginning; “Black Dog and Rebel Rose” paves the way to many more dark, somber and heartbreaking tales, more action filled hunts and sex, sex, sex. Hahahaa... Yeah, the ole Skriker man sure knows how to use his thang. You will be pleading for more.

There is more than humans occupying the world in this novella-length erotic tale of two hunters who protect the innocent people from what is out to get them. These two hunters have a great deal in common, but then again they both have a few secrets that place them on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Skyrker is a big, tall blond tatooed rockstar of a man that cage fights and demon hunts for his work while bedding women and smoking his way through a pack of Camels to relax. He loves his Harley named Betty and finds his very world turned upside down when he meets Rose during a battle against bad vampires and ghouls.

Rose is a black haired scar-faced beauty who keeps to herself and only lives for the hunt of things that go bump in the night. She keeps her weapons precision clean and rides her red Ducati cycle to destroy a nest of evil. Rose is afraid to allow Skyrker to know her secrets even after discovering his biggest one which makes her try to kill him.

The love affair between the two comes on quick taking them both by surprise, but secrets need to come into the open before they can truly have a relationship. Will they have the opportunity to have anything together with all the danger of their hunted becoming the hunters?

I liked the characters and the action was good. It is a gritty read, but well written.

I recommend it for readers who like their stories harsher and grittier like if Dashell Hammett wrote Paranormal Romance or Urban Fantasy.

This was the story of Psyche and Alexious' daughter Rose, I didn't realize that until the last few chapters, so I will add a "spoiler" alert.
When I read Psyches' Gate my request to the author was to have more of the love story. Well she made that up with this one..lots of lovin and great sex..for those of you (and you know who you are)who like that sort of thing...like me!
It was very fast paced and exciting, and I really wished I knew from the beginning who Rose was, if that was part of the book discription I missed it, because I would have enjoyed that knowledge and the closure of the love between P and A, I was so sad she had gotten killed.
Anyway I enjoyed the book and looking am forward to more, I can recommend this to all who love PNR.

This book had a kick ass lady hunter named Rose, and a biker & demon hunter named Skriker (aka Black dog to his friends). They met while on a mission to rid a town of vampires and the sparks flew. I would like to say it was like good girl means bad ass boy, but Rose was actually a badass girl too.
Anyway, I have to be honest, I rarely like books where vampires are described as varmin. I can take it in Kate Daniels, because the writing is superb and the plot is very engaging. This book wasn’t that enjoyable the second time around either. I knew Rose would get with Black Dog, it was just a matter of time, though I had forgotten about her secret so that kept me going to the end of the book.

This a fast furious read that captured me right away. The characters are fresh, raw, damaged and molded by their youth and bound by their natures.

Black Dog & Rebel Rose is a tale of horror, brutal battles, hot sex and two unlikely soul mates.

Rose is a hunter; she hunts all that is dark, disturbing and foul. Striker is half demon, half human, hunting his own kind, exacting revenge for what they did to his family. Striker and Rose collide when they both are hunting the same nest of vampyres. Striker can't believe he has to share the hunt, but changes his tune when he lays eyes on Rose. Rose cautiously lets Striker join her hunt and then finds herself strangely drawn to him.

Danielle Smith has created a story that will draw us in and leave us wanting more, and more.

There were a great many things I enjoyed about this story. I loved the main characters - two souls lost - one part demon, one part angel. Both hunters and the very best in their field. Both enigmatically sexy and sexual - so that their trysts were suitably hot!

I must confess - I knew I'd love it when I saw the art-work by Danielle, the author. Check out her stuff at her blog and face-book.

Only thing I would moan about was the edit could have been sharper. Regardless, I will recommend this marvellously entertaining book to horror and fantasy and romance readers alike. It had a bit of everything, and left me feeling a little invigorated actually. ;D

Black Dog and Rebel Rose by Dani Julian, Amanda Schrader, and Vincent van Hinte is an urban fantasy adventure that I listened to on audio narrated by Jeremy Frazier.

This book is outside my usual genre of reading, but I am glad I took the chance on it. There was a lot going on in this story that left me hooked and begging for more. I would highly recommend listening to this book when you can focus on the storyline since it does jump from past to present a lot.

The book does end on a cliffhanger so I do hope the next book will be released on audio soon.

Jeremy did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of his work in the future.

Confession time - this was my first erotica novel read and I didnt know what to expect.
The first few pages were clearly well written but I was a little uneasy, wondering if it was just going to gratuitous bonking all the way through...but boy was I wrong.
I loved the building relationship between Black Dog and Rose - it was real and believable and utterly irresistable.
Congratulations to Ms Smith on crafting an un-put-downable read that was engrossing on a whole loud of levels.

I read this on a dark and stormy night. The perfect book for being enthralled with hot lovin' and getting the blood pressure going with some serious action scenes with the bad guys. Awesome descriptions which put you in the scenes and involved in the story.
The story of Striker aka Black Dog and Rose is one of timeless love and soul recognition. I will be reading more of this author to see where this may lead.

Wow! Danielle Smith knows how to suck her readers into this graphic Hunter novel. Gruesome action abounds all around our Skriker and Rose as they are on a hunt to destroy a huge nest of Bloods. While spewing guts and bodily parts everywhere around them, they get to know one another's secrets and are drawn to one another like magnets despite how opposite they are. This is a must read for any bad-ass tattoo clad harley riding butt-kicking junkie. Kudos to you Danielle - Awesome book.

I wish this book was longer because I enjoyed Skriker and Rose. I loved Striker's bad boy image but he was so sweet towards his Rose :) I thought the ending was cool too, it left me smiling. It also left you wanting to have the story continue to see what happens with the father. Very good short story. I just purchased In The Neon...Strikers parent's story.

Skriker and Rose fall in love, while hunting and killing demons to satisfy their resentment of past demon tortures inflicted on each of their mothers. Black Dog and Rebel Rose is comfortable read to feed your Angel/Demon cravings.

I'm incredibly proud of this one. I hope my readers and fans enjoy Skriker and Rose's story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

This was my first book by Dani and I really enjoyed it. I love everything PNR and the blurb got me. Black Dog & Rose are both out to get one thing accomplished. Kill Vampires. Somewhere along the way, try fall in love. Beautifully written.

I am very confused with this book, I don’t really follow what’s going in the story.
