Ugh. I'm not reading another one of these. They're always disappointing. Bad formatting, non-sensical disjointed writing, and this:

"X is for XIV—Louis XIV" ----X is for 10?
"Z is for Zest"----Zest was referring to joie de vivre. Stretch, there.

My son and I enjoyed reading this for "France" month. There are many beautiful illustrations and wonderful information. We read a letter a day and had fun learning about France one letter at a time.

Author gives few things related to France for each letters in alphabet, like "A" as Amphitheaters, Aqua ducts, and "B" as Burgundy. Main part is only short sentence with cartoon in the back ground, but also on the side has explanation of each things brought up. It is mostly about France, but it is also written/drawn in American perspective, as you would see Thomas Jefferson, and D-Day. There are many different genre of things related to France, like art work like Mona Lisa, Person like Thomas Jefferson, Food like Omelet, and writing like Les Miserable.
It is so much fun learning about things in France, gaining global perspective. Also each page has main part has alphabet and few words, and on the side it gives detailed explanation about things written on the main part. Main part is easy enough for younger kids yet would not be boring for older kids either.
It is very fun way of learning Geography, that would give kids a little bit of understanding global perspective and makes them learn more about France, or make them want to be there.
