The author of Flame Seeker lets loose in a new novel of erotic romance.
A relic hunter, Asrial stumbles across a rare vase, only to discover that it holds something more precious inside-a djinn named Romir. Aboard Asrial's ship, Romir finds unexpected freedom and unexpected passion in Asrial's bed. But when the vase beckons him back, Asrial must find a way to release him completely, even if it means returning to the dangers of her home world...
This one ended up as 3-1/2 stars. It finished much stronger than it started. I liked the whole set up. She's a Rim rat who scrounges for artifacts to sell to help support her family. She finds an intact vase which turns out to be a djinn's bottle/prison.
Here's where it was not so good. As soon as he is accidently released from his bottle, he sees her and gets her off while she's asleep. She wakes up and thinks she was dreaming so she uses her "pleasure wand" to get herself off while he watches unbeknownst to her. Then he materializes again and they have sex. Then they chat and wander around the ship and they have sex again. So we're up to about page 60. The problem is that you don't know the characters yet and they don't know each other so the sex is pretty meaningless and gets in the way of the story. And I'm sorry but there is nothing sexy or romantic about someone spying on someone else masterbating. That just gave me an icky feeling. And to top it all off, the sex scenes were pretty darn pedestrian. Honestly it felt like the author was told to "put some sex in."
After she accepts that he is in fact a djinn and determines to free him and they go to the inner worlds to find a 'cure', the story picks up. The sci fi world building is really pretty good. There are plenty of realistic descriptions of ships and a pretty clear system of ship travel and traffic rules and descriptions of ships approaching planets and space stations. The universe seems well thought out and full. The side story of her returning to the planet of her birth was pretty well done. There was a bit about pirates trying twice to capture her that was left hanging a bit. You never found out definitely why or who wanted her.
There is still some sex in the second half of the book but now you know the characters so you're more interested and also the sex is pertinent to the plot.
Both the hero, Romir, and the heroine, Asrial, were well developed characters and I like Romir especially. He was noble and self sacrificing. Asrial was very capable and caring.
All in all, except for the superfluous sex in the beginning, a well done science fiction romance.

Asrial is a deposed princess and futuristic relic hunter. She is down on cash and luck. When she happens on a cache of ancient Majians treasures she finally feels she can cash in and fix her out of date spaceship and save a bit of money for the future. But Asrial gets more than she bargained for when an attractive but seemingly harmless man suddenly appears on her ship. Where did he come from and why didn’t her ship’s sensors pick him up? Romir tells Asrial that he is a genie! Asrial doesn’t believe him but decides to let him stay. But soon she discovers he has special powers that can’t be easily explained and she has to come to a decision. Is having Romir really smart, especially since he is attracting unwanted attention? Asrial must also battle with her conscience and weigh the consequences of trying to free him from his prison. Is he worth the risk of visiting the dangerous planet which deposed her father and is the only key to Romir’s freedom?
This was an outrageous book in its originality. Those who love erotic reads will enjoy the premise. Romir must make love to stay out of his genie prison. However, he is unable to find any release/fulfillment. I enjoyed how the author provided an excuse for the main characters to have constant, steamy sex but since Romir couldn’t find any satisfaction I gradually had the feeling that their sex was only one-sided and their scenes weren’t as satisfying for me to read because I felt it wasn't mutual.
I thought the general idea for this story was very intriguing and had enormous potential. But while the basic plot to free Romir holds true in the storyline many plot devices such as: people hunting them, Asrial’s mysterious inherited necklace and Asrial’s heritage are not fully explored and are left hanging. I don’t know if the author will continue this story in a sequel but because of this many sections of the story felt very unresolved. I was disappointed. I kept thinking, where is the rest of the story? I was also frustrated that Asrial refuses for a large portion of the story to believe that Romir is a genie but so easily accepts his sudden appearance aboard her ship without question. Romir is a sexy beta hero. I did enjoy how the author slowly reveals his growing self confidence as Asrial treats him like a human being where he previous masters’ had treated him like a slave.
This story has some plot holes but if you are looking of a light, easy to read book with fantasy and steamy scenes then you will enjoy this book.

A very enjoyable and sexy story though at times it read like a series book. There was a lot of terminology that was abbreviated (I think) that was indefinable. This made reading difficult because I just couldn't decipher what they were talking about. It didn't detract from the story exactly but was irritating. There wasn't any indication that this was part of a series so I was confused.
I really liked Romir and Asrial together. The growth of their relationship was well-paced and believable. A story line or two were left hanging so maybe a sequel is in the works. I would be interested in reading of Asrial and Romir's further adventures.
Really liked this. A strange mix of sci-fi and fantasy that had me turning pages long into the night. I loved the whole idea of abandoned worlds and a djinn left behind. The couple grew together well and the solution to the story was enjoyable. A very good read in all.
This saws again just an ok book but I kept thinking please just freaking end!! I liked it and didn't like it so I'm not sure what to even right about this book. Please give her a try I'm sure she would be liked by someone else I just couldn't get into it.
