How To Start A Home-based Catering Business: From Pricing Your Services to Honing Your Food Presentation Skills, This Comprehensive Guide Provides a ... Business
From pricing your services to honing your food presentation skills, this comprehensive guide provides a wealth of information about building a home-based catering business.
It's a very high level, easy to read, overview of how to start a catering business. Good examples of menus and forms, but too high level to be practical other than a list of things to think about. All the books in this series are filled with recipes which I find not really useful as everyone's style and business differ and those 32 pages could be better spent. Good resource/book list in the back. Would recommend the Caterer's Handbook instead, which appears more daunting, but is a more serious tool.
The author shares her experience in starting and running a home-based catering business. Details such as business plans, permits, cost analysis are among some of the topics covered. Many sample forms are provided dealing with daily operations. Some contacts and suppliers are listed for the West Coast and Central Eastern seaboard are listed while everything between the Serria Madres and the Appalachian Mountains are ignored. Overall, it should give the reader some ideas to think about.
