S is just starting to learn to read and this is a book he brought home from his classroom to read to the family over the weekend. He is getting pretty good with his sight words and was able to sound out the few words in this book he didn't know by sight. I'm so proud of him! He was also doing some critical thinking as he went through the book, explaining to us how the mother probably felt and describing the problem in the book and how it was solved. It's really neat to watch him developing into a reader.

Kait’s reading fluency book for the week. It’s a decent story, but the word chimpanzee is over used.
