The Kingdom of God is perhaps one of the most misunderstood and misapplied biblical subjects I know. And yet, it is immensely important, and in it lie the secrets that will help us fulfill our dominion mandate. It has become a word that many, bandy around insignificantly as they endeavor either to impress or coax their listeners into accepting their postulations. We seldom hear words like “Financing the Kingdom”, “Kingdom Agenda”, “Kingdom Keys” and the like, yet many have remained ignorant about God’s Kingdom. In my previous book, God’s Kingdom Government , I have discussed in detail the role of the church in fulfilling God’s Kingdom Agenda on earth. From scripture, it is clear that the role of the Church of Jesus’ Christ on earth is to manifest God’s Kingdom. In the only two scriptures in the bible where Jesus talked about the church, He reveals the Church-Kingdom connection. For example, He says, “ And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven .” (Mathew 16:18-19) God desires that every believer lives victoriously on earth, having dominion, and ruling together with Christ. Towards this end, the Lord gives us an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, to enable us to reign on earth as kings. (Romans 5:17) But why are so many believers yet to experience the “more abundant life” that Jesus Christ promised us? Why are so many still in bondage to inhibiting forces and circumstances? The major reason for the aforementioned predicament is that many believers have not yet fulfilled their priesthood, and so cannot access their thrones. We have been made priests and kings for God, and in God’s ordained order, we will manifest our kingship mandate when we fulfill our priesthood. Even our Lord Jesus Christ had to first fulfill His priesthood, by applying His blood on heaven’s mercy seat before He could sit on His throne at the right hand of the Father. And the bible says, “ Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high .” (Hebrews 1:3) The believer’s priesthood is not a mere biblical concept; rather, it is a reality. Once you believe in Jesus Christ and are born again, you have been called into the body of priests. Your priesthood calling is one that you need to fulfill before you can ascend your throne and begin to dominate circumstances, defy natural laws, and live a life of increasing victory in Christ. While your priesthood calling is waiting for fulfillment, your kingship heritage is waiting for possession. As you study this book you will discover your purpose as King and Priest for God, in a deeper sense. My heart desires that your hunger and thirst for righteousness will be ignited in your heart even as you increase in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus.
