Can I admit now that I am a sucker for sheikh books? How about a vampire sheikh? Technically, he’s a demigod high priest of an ancient Egyptian cult. He has a long name, but it’s easier to call him Seth, so I shall. Seth is all powerful, gorgeous, and very sexy. But he has a weakness. He needs blood, at least once a year to survive. The Haliday sisters have caused him no small amount of trouble. First of all, his promised blood sacrifice ran off with his best friend, and she was the middle sister. Now, the eldest sister, Josslyn, has arrived at the temple door, confronting him and demanding her sisters back. The light bulb goes off in Seth’s head. Why not take this sister as his blood sacrifice? She’s annoying and she needs to be silenced anyway. He can use her for blood (and maybe some hot sex as well), and make her a slave or follower in his cult. Joss believes that Seth will set her sisters free if she willingly provides the blood that this strangely gorgeous vampire dude needs, so she hands herself over. Trust me, that’s not as bad as it sounds.
This was one steamy story. The sexual tension was off the charts between Seth and Joss.
The bite of a vampire is one incredibly potent aphrodisiac that leads to lots of bliss for Joss. But Joss also discovers that she likes spending time with this immortal man who’s lived 50 centuries and has many tales to tell about the ancient Egyptians. Not only is he gorgeous and a great lover, but he’s kind of lonely and he's very erudite and filled with long-lost knowledge, appealing to this woman who spent most of her formative years in Egypt and loves it like her native land.
The magic part was interesting and Nina Bruhns enraptured me with the spells and the supernatural aspects of Seth’s world. I especially loved when Seth would shapeshift into an enormous black lion and take Joss on a ride across the midnight desert. I must admit that Egyptian mythology makes my head spin. It’s so complex, so I was a bit lost with those aspects. However, this story screamed unique and different, a departure from your standard vampire tale.
I also liked that there were two romances for the price of one in this book, both playing a huge role in the overall story. Seth’s adoptive sister Nephtys agreed to be the consort of Seth’s sworn enemy to save her brother. He’s also the man who stole her virginity and sexually enslaved her for many years. She loves him, although he’s used to playing the ‘bad guy’. Nephtys is torn between her loyalty to her brother, and her love for his sworn enemy. Ray is the demigod high priest of the opposing cult to Seth. His god is the god of light, whereas Seth serves the god of the dark and the chaos. Yet, it’s not as cut and dried as it seemed. Light doesn’t translate to good, and dark doesn’t translate to evil. They are just opposing forces, but not necessarily incongruent. Can Nephtys find a way to sow seeds of peace between her brother and her destined lover? Loving both men doesn’t have to mean betraying one or the other, or does it?
Admittedly, with the hyperbolic descriptions of how powerful both demigods were, and the otherworldly elements, the concept seems a bit silly at times, but the execution turned out pretty well. Certainly, it was different from the usual paranormal offerings, which is a plus. The romance was believable; and I quite liked the family aspects, with Joss and her sisters and parents, and how dedicated Seth was to his followers and friends. Even Ray, who was seemingly the big bad, also had his soft spots, particularly for Nephtys. All in all, Vampire Sheikh was a good read.

I’ve been waiting for this book seems like forever and it was well worth the wait. Vampire Sheikh rocked!
I’m happy dancing around my room because this book was even better than I hoped and I’m so tickled that Seth finally got his happily ever after.
I loved this paranormal Egyptian world that Ms. Bruhns built and I thought the whole concept was so unique and fascinating. Josslyn is the last of the Haliday sisters to find their way into the secret underground lair of the vampire demi-god and man, is he ticked. I guess he has a right to be because his well ordered domain has been thrown in disarray from the fact that his closest friends and advisors have fallen in love and have done things he never expected because of it.
I will say that the blurb is misleading. It’s really only one of his lieutenants that have defected on him, not two. But one is enough. I always felt sad for Seth because he has been alone for so long. So many depend on him and in fact this story explains just how burdened he is and what he’s accomplished in his long life. It’s considerable. And for a man with a bad rap as he has, the fact becomes very clear to a reader that he is not only capable of love, he does love and wants to be loved. A reader can sense his loneliness and it’s a terrible thing but so too is his anger and his sense of betrayal. He has his emotional armor on and I wasn’t sure how Joss was going to get through to him.
Anger is a great motivator. So is love – and fear. All of these bombard Joss at one time or another, some all at once. I liked her a lot. I always thought she was a hot ticket from her easy handling and wiliness to shoot a shotgun in defense of those she cares for. She’s the eldest and has a huge sense of responsibility and it shows. One of my favorite scenes is when Seth does something that he is so confident is going to scare the spit and fire right out of Joss and instead, she throws him for a loop with her response. What happens after that had me fanning myself. In fact there are many moments of sheer sultry seduction that totally entertained me and had me reaching for a cold glass of water. Ms. Bruhns sure knows how to write stimulating scenes.
There is an exciting and delightful reuniting between the sisters at different times and each scene furthers the plot and intensified the suspense and drama. There is hope when everyone thought it was hopeless. In fact, Shahin from Shadow of the Sheikh gets news that will simply astound him. I was so happy for him, I wanted to cry.
In fact, Ms. Bruhns did a bang-up job of making sure that readers got an all inclusive, effective and assured happily ever after. I think it took three mini chapters to tie up all the threads and it raised my happiness level a notch in every one. It was romantic, thrilling, life affirming and beautiful. I just wanted to hug the book; I was so happy that everyone ended up in love. In fact even someone who a reader of the series knows shouldn’t deserve to be happy gets redeemed. That was a shocker. Not so much that the character got a HEA but the truth that was revealed to allow it to even happen is what astounded me. I never saw that one coming and it was sort of sad and maddening. All that time, all those feelings. Amazing! And darn it, I ended up liking the character after all. Who’d have thought it?
Vampire Sheikh is an awesome, sensual delight from start to finish that kept me on the edge of my seat from its dramatic start to its warm and even humorous yet romantic finish. Ms. Bruhns kept the integrity of the writing all throughout the series and never missed a beat. The characters are easy to like and are fascinating, and the locale is exotic and lush. I enjoyed the action and suspense and how the characters interacted with each other as the story unfolded. I had the most fun reading this series and I commend Ms. Bruhns on a job well done. Thank you for creating such memorable and delicious characters. I had a ball.

Josslyn Haliday arrives in Egypt to locate her two missing sisters. She has very little to go by but she is determined to find them and bring them back home. She stumbles upon a hidden world that may hold the key to locating her sister and answering questions about her past.
Seth Aziz is a Demigod seeking revenge. He needs a mortal willing to give him his blood sacrifice. Both of his friends have betrayed him by going to the enemy’s camp because of their love for their mates (Gemma and Gillian Haliday). When Josslyn arrives at his door, he seeks this opportunity to make them pay by using Josslyn.
I love a good vampire story but this one falls short of my expectations. The characters are unlikeable. Seth is one of the worst heroes in a book I’ve read. He is distant and cold. All he does is bark orders. When he is around Josslyn he is the same way. I never warmed up to his character at all. Even after the blood sacrifice and intimacy that they share he remains cold. In the beginning it is understandable since he is trying to hurt them all but after a while, the cold barrier that he throws up is annoying.
Josslyn started off great. She is strong, smart and beautiful. She wants her sisters to come back home with her and she will do anything. The problem is that once she locates one of them, her character does a complete turn. She becomes weak in my opinion and does whatever her sister and Seth tells her without demanding an explanation. Her reunion with her sister is a bit unrealistic. Her sister forces her to the blood sacrifice and don’t give any explanation. It is a long time before anything is revealed.
What really bothers me is that there are several holes in the plot and the book is hard to get into. After a while I forced myself to finish this book because it is a habit of mine. There are too many characters with their own story thrown in the mix and not enough details to sustain a reader’s appetite.
Overall, I only recommend this book if you have read the 1st two books in the series. The weak characters, lack of details and boring plot makes Vampire Sheikh a hard book to get into.

This book started off being a bit difficult for me to really get into. There were quite a few unknown Egyptian words with which I needed to become familiar. However, after that somewhat rocky start, the story became increasingly mesmerizing and soon I found I was caught up in the drama and suspense of the powerful immortals. This book stands up well on its own, but I wish I had read the other two previous books, as well. The intimate scenes between Josslyn and Seth sizzle. There is plenty of tension and several unexpectedly tender moments. Those readers well-versed in Egyptian mythology will surely love this entire series. For the rest of us, it is an opportunity to get lost in the excitement of an adventure in a distant, dusty land amid an ornate underground sanctuary.

“Vampire Sheikh” is one from the Immortal Sheikhs collection. These books have a common theme being the Sheikhs but they do not have to be read in any certain order. The first couple chapters are a bear to get through because of all the Egyptian names being thrown out; it is very noticeable that Bruhns knows exactly what she is talking about, but the book does smooth out to be an easy read.
Its easy to fall in step with the characters and root for their success and its loaded with sexual action. The ending leaves a little to be desired with its lack of climax. An ending with world peace and serenity does not make me want to run out and snatch up another Immortal Sheikh.
So if you are the type of person that loves a good Egyptian themed steamy romance this is a story for you!

The plot was a good one if you like paranormal romance which I normally eat up like candy. What turned me completely off with this book, and this author in general is she is a very vulgar writer. I dont want to have to sift through the foul and vulgar language such as "fuck" word and disgusting slang for body anatomy. I'm definitely not a prude by any means but I expect better from Harlequin and her authors.
The plot, like I said is a good one. Seth Aziz is a Vampire Lord who serves the Egyptian mythological god Set. He has been wounded by love in the past but he falls for a mortal woman, Josslin Halliday, whom his sister Nephtys, a priestess and prophetess insists is destined to be his eternal mate. For those who enjoy Egyptian mythology this series is a good one if you can tolerate the author's potty mouth on paper.

I really ENJOYED it, but it was hard to get invested when I haven't read the other two books. There were also some really ridiculous lines/parts that needed toned down. It was really fun, though, and will so appeal to fans of Presents who want a little more pnr with their angst. Vampire Sheikh was very much the alpha-male of the Presents line with a paranormal twist. The only downside is that the hero and heroine didn't have as much interaction as I would have liked, because the book was divided between that romance and a subplot romance that I felt was developed over the previous two books...but I can't be sure on that one.

War between the light, Petru, and the dark, Khepesh has been brewing for five millenia and comes to a head when Haru-Re captures Seth and Joss and takes them to Petru.
How does Joss fulfill the prophecy? And how does she and Priestess Nephtys find their own HEAs?
Really enjoyed the egyptian mythology in this trilogy .

A continuation of the story of Immortal Sheikhs. This is the story of Seth and Josslyn. Seth is a demigod and he is very angry with Josslyn. His sister has foretold that Josslyn will be his mate. Seth has seen her two sisters take away two of his best friends and refuses to get caught up in what he believes will be an emotional trap. But Josslyn is also angry and looking to get her sisters back.

He finally finally finds love and finds forgiveness for his friend and his lover, before before they all decided to get married, in to their happy ever after. Shame there wasn't a battle, between two enemies that have been fighting for at least five thousand years, where Seth's sister finds love with their enemy calling the whole thing off. I'm glad that there was a happy ending though where the family was whole again.

This was interesting . Probably would have been better for me if I had read the other two. But I did enjoy it. Love the demigods/vampires. That was kinda cool. The ending for me was a little flat. But I mean it was a bad story.

Well this is it we finally have the 3 sisters with their men.
Seth and Joss were quite fun, maybe the funniest couple with their stubborness. But their relation is still hot!!^^
