This is the book my parents got me before I went to kindergarten, and my copy has a note from them along with the date to remember it. So for nostalgia's sake alone I am partial to this one even if it is a typical child-unsure-of-school-turns-out-to-enjoy-school tale. I also like the artwork and am glad I have this around to share with my own daughter now as we get her ready for school.
My grandmother bought me this book when I was starting school and I still love it. It is so relatable to children who are starting kindergarten. I love how her emotions are so real and she's so stubborn to actually enjoy herself until a little boy who is just as afraid as she is helps break down her walls. It's a great story about friendship and new day jitters.
12/1 Fiction Pre K-1st My sister used to read this book to me when I was very young and getting to read it myself was a lot different! A very sweet story with a cute little nervous girl! The illustrations in this books are very dull looking but it also very beautiful in a way!
I LOVED this book as a child.... even though I homeschool my kids I thought they would enjoy this - and they did! Maybe not quite as much as I did, but it brought back some nostalgia for me :)
