My love for reading developed at an early age. My parents, Daniel and Gwendolyn Odidison, were both avid readers and encouraged me to read as much as possible. Trips to the public library were the highlight of my week and by the time I was in junior high I was reading everything from biographies to suspense to True Confession magazines!

I got my big “break” when I was only fourteen-years-old. I read my first poem at my local church and received a standing ovation. Reading my poems and seeing my plays come to life on stage proved to me that I had a God-given talent for the written word.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education, I hugged my family goodbye and boarded a plane for Seoul, South Korea. I loved every minute of living in Seoul. The people, the food, the culture, the shopping. Three years later, I returned home with a fresh outlook on life and a gorgeous fiancé (yay me!) Jean-Claude and I married, settled into our new home and now have an adorable, three-year-old daughter named Aysiah who keeps us very busy.

I penned my first novella while teaching in South Korea and upon the advice of a good friend and colleague I transformed, Other People’s Business, into a full-length novel. I wrote The Trouble With Luv’ soon after. Two years and thirty rejection letters later, I signed with super-agent Sha-Shana Crichton from Crichton and Associates. Six weeks later I had a two-book deal contract with Harlequin’s African-American Romance line, Kimani Press.

Her Kind of Man, and Love T.K.O. were both released in ’08, and this year there are more scintillating stories to come. I’ve written seven books now, but I feel like I’m just getting started! A huge thanks to all of you who attend my book signings, send me I-love-your-book-emails, leave messages on my Facebook page and who are recommending my books to other die-hard romantics. Sage Collins and Marshall Grant will heat things up in Games of the Heart (August 2009) and a feisty PR Director and a fine, ex-NFL running back rekindle the flames in Passion Overtime (November 2009). Read an excerpt of my novels under the heading Books.

If you enjoy a good romance story, rich with desire, scorching HOT love scenes and a few unexpected twists and turns along the way, you’ve come to the right place. Grab one of my books, recline in a comfy chair and enjoy the ride! I guarantee you’ll love the heroes and heroines featured in my stories. They’re strong but flawed men and women who are just looking for a little love and tenderness! That’s all for now, friends.
Happy Reading and be blessed!

Love?

Two years have passed since Warrick Carver and Tangela Howard went their separate ways, ending a seven-year relationship. After seeing the new and improved Tangela gracing the cover of People magazine, Warrick realizes that she is the one for him. Can he convince Tangela of the same?

“Love on the Rocks” was a quick read; however, it was also a disappointing read. The book falters at its very premise. I did not buy the idea of Warrick and Tangela as a couple. These characters did not belong together. Warrick came off as wanting Tangela for what she could do for him, while Tangela appeared needy and desperate. As a result, the love, the romance all seemed forced or artificial. The back stories (his and her job situations, their friends, her weight loss, her 'relationships') also seemed forced. It didn't really flow smoothly.

Having read and enjoyed a previous novel by Yaye, I expected more. There were some redeeming factors – integration of New Orleans and love finally conquering all – but it wasn’t enough to overlook the flaws.

We usually read romance to get the sparks and wheels burning--no FIRE in this book but decent concept, yet I barely felt the sparks whether good or bad aspects of their relationship...

Yet, Pamela Yaye is a great writer but story just fell short for me. We always argue lack of editing, development, and such today as we post reviews but this book covered all these concepts but it was the storyline that failed for me...skimmed through to get done. Sadly, I wanted some romance...glad I won this book.

I didn't enjoy this book, it just made me upset. Tangela should have moved on with her dreams of marriage. Warrick wasn't worth it when all he wanted was a live in girlfriend and maid. "Why buy a cow when you can get the milk for free?"

I took really long to read this book. 9 days to be exact haha. I am a big fan of African American Romance Fiction...lol there is such a genre! . I enjoyed this book a lot. My favourite character was Warrick. I loved his personality. He was afraid to be hurt again but he didnt let it show. A lot of men have been in the same position as him but rarely do they voice how they feel. I also loved the fact that he didnt care that Tangela had lost the weight. He loved her whether she was big or small.

This book's storyline could have been good to me but the main characters feelings towards each other was confusing to me. One minute it felt like they hated each other than the next next minute it felt like they loved each other. I wish I felt more of a romance feeling from this book.
