Sound advice regarding banana peels. Pick them up. Although this advice is kind of contradicted when he tells the reader to focus on his/her bicycle riding. If you focus on your riding you won’t see the banana peel right in front of you. I learned this by experience when my own bicycle, many years ago, slid on a banana peel that I did not see. Despite the fact that we were following the rules of the bicycle road. We were riding single file. We were paying attention. But still I went splat.

CARELESSNESS is everybody’s enemy and yet, also, their constant companion.

Truly, the most entertaining part of this book is in the introduction when the author tells us that he picks up a half eaten bagel from a bench by the bus stop. And he is so engrossed this bagel that he walks right into traffic and gets hit by a car. Well, I guess that he is proving that besides being careless, his mother may have failed to instill in him certain basic hygienic rules. He’s not even following the 8 second rule. It’s okay to something off the floor if it is there less than 8 seconds. This is a rule followed by many guys. Personally, 1 second is too long for me.
