Effect of Curcuma longa on Ovary of Endosulfan Exposed mice: Medicinal Plants and Pesticide

Rate this book
Endosulfan is an organochlorine insecticide effective against a wide range of pests of cereals, coffee, cotton, fruits, oilseeds, potato, tea and vegetables. Endosulfan is acutely toxic and is readily absorbed by the stomach and lungs, and through the skin. Symptoms of acute endosulfan exposure include central nervous system disorders such as dizziness, vomiting, diarrhoea, breathing difficulties, convulsions, and loss of consciousness. In extreme cases, death can result. Turmeric plays vital role in detoxification of endosulfan toxicity on ovary. It shows bioremedial impact on both estrogen level and histology of ovary.
