About the author

Es doctor en física y profesor de teoría de los procesos irreversibles en la Universidad de Barcelona. Además de investigador, es un dinámico animador del debate de ideas, lo que le ha valido, entre otros, el Premio Nacional de Pensamiento y Cultura Científicos en Cataluña. Es director de la colección Metatemas desde su creación en 1983. Tras haber dirigido durante quince años CosmoCaixa, referente de los museos de la ciencia de todo el mundo, fue también director científico de la Fundación “la Caixa” y en la actualidad elabora el proyecto de un gran museo sobre Ciencia y Arte: El Hermitage Barcelona. Es autor de veinte libros, entre ellos Si la naturaleza es la respuesta, ¿Cuál era la pregunta? o Más árboles que ramas, con gran éxito entre la crítica y los lectores, y de múltiples trabajos de investigación sobre termodinámica, matemáticas, biofísica, microbiología, paleontología, entomología, museología científica y filosofía de la ciencia.
