Spencer Fallon never knew werewolves existed until he was attacked by one, making him a werewolf. For years, he lives lonely life until he sees a gorgeous man limping in front of him one day.
Ryder Jenkins' life is a disaster. Kicked out of his house at sixteen when he came out to his parents, Ryder caught a ride to New York. With no ID, birth certificate, and being underage, he had very limited options. When a guy offers him a place to stay, Ryder thinks has luck has changed... he couldn't have been more wrong.
Six years later, Ryder's knight in shining armor shows up in the form of a sexy hot werewolf. Can Ryder trust another stranger promising him a better life? Or is the devil he knows better?
I can honestly say this is one of the worst books I've ever read. Serves me right for not reading the blurb or any reviews. I had it sitting on my kindle for awhile and just decided to read it. What a disappointment.
Within pages of starting the story I was thrust into a graphic, not at all sexy, sex scene. There was no connection, no chemistry, and no point to it. It read like bad porn. And if you're looking for witty dialogue you will not find it here. The dialogue was as cheesy as the bad lines spewed in a low budget porno. It was riddled with cliches. I hear there is a cliff hanger ending, but I wouldn't know because I couldn't finish this book.
I really liked this story. Totally unlikely (but hey, we're talking werewolves here, right?), it reads mostly like a fairy tale but turns into a bit of a mystery at the very end.
Spencer is the perfect knight in shining armor. While he has to deal with being turned into a werewolf against his will, he masters the situation perfectly then goes out to save Ryder. Money is in ample supply, and the little work he does do never interferes with him building a relationship with his 'rescuee'. If he wasn't adorably insecure about some things, he'd be annoying, he is so perfect.
Ryder, on the other hand, is almost the perfect damsel in distress. Life has dealt him a very tough hand, and he masters everything as best he can. The second Spencer appears, he is ready to give it all up. Again, the fact that he doesn't immediately do so, but after some appropriate hesitation (which only gets him into more trouble, by the way), stops this story from being totally cliché.
By the time Luc appears and is added into the mix, I thought I had figured out where this was going. Not so! The last few pages are some of the most interesting, since they make it clear that there is much more to this story than meets the eye. An intriguing glimpse into what might happen next is all we get though - until the sequel. Very well done.
It's a good thing the audiobook for the 4th book wasn't out when I bought the first three last week or I would have bought it and found out later it's one of my 'untouchables'. According to Jess' review, the author wrote herself and a fellow author into the story. Since that is just plain weird, I won't even bother to read the ebook which I already have.
Since this series reads like a single story, I'll just post my review of it here. I enjoyed listening to the first two since I'd read a couple of Flynn's Resistant Omegas books and know what to expect. If you're in the mood for smut, this is okay though it gets repetitive by the 3rd book because the plot isn't strong enough through each installment to balance out the smut. Even the mystery of who wants Spencer dead in Book 3 is so weak that it took me awhile to remember the identity of the bad guy. Trust me, it's no biggie and hardly took five minutes of audio time.
If you're picking this series for the smut content, I recommend the audiobook. Arm yourself with an ice cream cone of your fav flavor then sit back, relax and listen to the four werevolves lick each other's hole clean.
3.5 to 4. At times I liked it but sometimes the dialogue remind me of Daytime Soap Opera, - Not saying it's bad or good, just saying that's what it reminded me of. If you have ever watched them you know what I mean. And sometime that take a little getting use to. Also these shapeshifters/werewolves don't really shift into wolfs (animal kind) more like some other books have called it 3rd form, half man half work form etc. They can run on 4 legs but they can also Walk on the hind legs and TALK when they are shifted. Think more of the ones in Harry Potter instead of the ones in Twilight. (I think) I kept getting confused, cause he is in wolf form but he's talking and holding him and carrying him around, and I think driving at one point, he is in werewolf form in order the turn Lucas (the 3rd guy towards the end) and runs home to get SUV and drives back, SO either he is driving back to pick them up as a naked man or he's driving back as a werewolf. (I don't know) But once you picture not the animal kind of wolf the story plays better in your head. (at least it did for me)
Overall I did like the story a little different then other shapeshifter ones not a bad thing just different. (she does like the 3ways thou, the two person dildo scene was good) The way it ended it will continue into the next book she has coming out next month called "Spencer's Secret" and that cover has 4 men on it.

I was sad that this ended where it did. I want to know what happens next so I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I liked the whole issue with Spencer's perfect person, Ryder, who was a whore/meth addict. Call me strange. I also liked that Joyee took the time out to go through the days of withdrawal instead of skimming over it. By no means did this get bogged down with Ryder's issues so you are not emotionally strung out but it's not ignored. It made the characters of Spencer and Ryder more vivid. Luc is introduced toward the end of the book so he is a little hollow but it does leave with a bit of a cliff hanger so you know more is to follow on these three.
I am really looking forward to the next book in the series and unfortunately there is nothing showing up for this year. :-( Please Joyee, help!

Eh. Not as good as people said. Not as bad as people said - on fact, I think of you read the hilarious negative reviews First, and then listen to the audio ar 1.9x speed, it actually makes he book kinda fun in a like.... intentional B-movie kind of way?
A hunch.
I read it cause its poly. But yea. Doubt ill read the rest... although I have to say, I am curious to see if it does in fact get as bad as people say 😅 and I am Super intrigued about the author writing herself in.
VERY cheesy and cliché language choices that unfortunately impact the effectiveness of the steam, and when the book is basically no plot and all steam...
This book was HILARIOUS! Ok, wait. You are driving home and see something cross the road that makes you crash your car. You get out only to face a werewolf who has sex with you (that you enjoy) and bites you and you pass out. You come to in the back seat of your car and see a note/letter. The letter basically says that yes, you did see and have sex with a werewolf and now you are one to. No, you will never see the werewolf again, but he will be watching you (*coughstalkercough*). He's notice that you've been unhappy in your job and you can think of this 'opportunity' as a gift or a curse. And PS if you want to change someone, make sure you bite them then have sex to counteract the poison in your saliva. LOL I mean, really? I laughed SO much after reading that letter that I wanted to call my gf and tell her how funny it was. Luckily it was 1a that I was reading this, so it had to wait.
At any rate, there is the customary giggling and crying as Spencer and his hooker turned lover, turn werewolf by Spencer, try to come together for a relationship. Then add to that the third person of their group, Luc, who they save from dying by turning him into a werewolf.
I just about laughed through the whole book. The only thing that I didn't like was the ending, which really forces you to read the next book to find out what happens. As if I wasn't going to read it anyway. Silly, entertaining and highly smex filled. If you like that sorta thing (like I do. They are my guilty pleasure), and like Stormy Glenn's wolf series, then you will enjoy this.

The title of the new series suggests something new for the m/m werewolves genre. I didn't expect too much, but I really liked reading it, a lot.
The particular way of turning a human into a werewolf is very sexy =)
Spencer and Ryder may look like your standard alpha-omega couple, but it's much more underneath. The way each of them cares about the other, while still bumping into the sharp edges of their new fragile relationship, is very cute. Ryder is the type of person who simply cares about everybody, truly omega-type boy. It's good that he has Spencer as a certain voice of reason (to shake some sense into him) LOL And then Lucas is added to their little family or pack too and it becomes even hotter.
What's also different here from your typical werewolves book is that they all aren't your standard wolf-shifters. They don't turn fully into wolf. It's more of a werewolf type that you may see in the drawings of Goldenwolf (Christy Grandjean), Dark Natasha or Rayndancer.
The dynamics of such complex multiple relationship between werewolves is really intersting to watch=read about. The idea is great =)
I deliberately didn't start reading Joyee Flynn's Wolf Harem series until the third installment was released. I'm so happy that I did. Each of the three books ends with a big cliffhanger. I've never been a fan of cliffhangers, I think they're a cheap ploy, but having all three books on hand helped to get me over that issue. Despite this dislike, I did enjoy the books. Ms. Flynn's writing style is very clear and straight forward, which I appreciated. Second Chance Bite, the first book in the series is my favorite, at this juncture in the series. It does a very good job of setting the stage for the following books. There is a lot of character development on the protagonist, Spencer, that comes into play in the later books. There is plenty of hot man on man sex and of course a lot of biting. This is a werewolf story you know.
typical joyee flynn serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical joyee flynn? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).
out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by : joyee flynn sunny day lynn hagen stormy glenn scarlett hyacinth carol lynne gabrielle evans
unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win
Was a fun read. I enjoyed the characters Joyee Flynn created in the story. It did require suspending a few beliefs. Yes, this is a werewolf story so you would need to anyway but it is set in the current world and as such would in regards to the world follow some reality. I thought the situations with Ryder and Luc were a little out there in regards to the trust they showed and how the relationship developed. I still enjoyed the story just make sure you don't mind suspension of some beliefs.
It was good. I didn't love it, but it was good. I didn't feel like there was a lot of depth or dimension in the characters so I didn't really connect with them so wasn't pulled strongly into the story. The story itself was still good and worth a read, I just never could get that warm and fuzzy feeling. I'm going to read the next since it seems like the story picks up in the plot with learning more about the werewolves. Looks like it's going to get more exciting or interesting.
In this first book in the paranormal series Spencer finds himself turned into a werewolf by a mysterious stranger, he then rescues a hooker and a victim of a gay bashing before discovering that there is a werewolf council and that he needs permission to make new werewolf
I loved the first half, the relationship between Spencer and Ryder was believable, I was hesitant once Luc came but i warmed to him as well, so for a first book it wa actually quite good.
So far -eh- Things are moving way too fast and I'm not feeling any connection. Update: That was kind of the way I felt about the whole book. I lacked connection. The sex scenes were good though.
