It all started off with a boy who was raised by a pack of wolves. The name that was given to the boy the wolves was Gruff. Gruff ended up getting captured and sent somewhere safe so that he could try to live a normal life. Later on he ended up getting put with a family so that there they could take care of him and try to help him have a normal life again. What they didn't know was that every time a full moon came out Gruff would turn into a werewolf. In my opinion I liked the book because it's very interesting how the family goes through everything to try to help Gruff out so, I really enjoyed that and all they had to go through.
Later on in the story Gruff was now with a family. He had his own room and didn't really find an interest to step out of his room. They would mostly talk to him threw the door unless he would come out of his room either to eat or have something really important to try to say. Gruff is not the best a speaking you see while he was raised by wolves he didn't get much education so he didn't know how to talk or how to write. That were Paul comes along to try to help out Gruff and help try to become normal again. Paul is typically kinda like Ruff's brother. Paul is the same age as Ruff and kind of understands what Ruff is going through. Ruff is having a hard time with society he doesn't really have much in common with Paul he can't really get out much. Gruff started off scared while living with the Parker's. Every shadow made him jump, every thought made hi overthink himself and everything around him. I think that what the family is trying to do is not meant to harm Gruff in any way they are all trying to help Gruff and make him feel wanted and normal again.
A major event that changed kind of changed Gruff's feeling was when he started to go to school. Gruff still struggled with putting on normal clothes because back when he was in the woods with the wolves he wore deerskin to keep him warm. While Gruff went to school with Kim and Paul ( Kim is Paul's sister also kind of Gruff's sister now) all he heard was whispers like , " Hey look its the wolf boy." They didn't really get to him but he started to get treated by some big kid who wanted to fight him already after Gruff had done nothing to the guy. In my opinion I liked that scene but also didn't. My mind got twisted when reading this. Something else major that happened in the book was *** Spoiler Alert *** that the wolves come not Gruff his old wolf pack come for his family and want the kids. Gruff later in the book doesn't let the wolves take him family because he now loved them and cared for them so he fought them off but the wolves agreed that when the next full moon where to come so would they.
In my opinion I loved the book. I loved the drama and everything realistic and everything fictional. Gruff at the end really did end up caring for his family and didn't betray them. If I where to rate this book I would give it a good 4 out of 5 stars. I gave it 4 stars because it had all the elements I thought were going to be in the book but something just makes me not love the book I just really liked it and the plot of the book but, I just think that more detail would've made me give it a 5 out 5. " The Werewolf Chronicles," was a great book and I would definitely read the next book in the series

4.5/5

I really loved this one! when I was reading it, I started to remember some of the things that happened since I have read this book quite a few times when I was younger. I found this one more interesting because the main character was now experiencing turmoil trying to be a human boy while protecting the town from the werewolves. As always, just brings me back to childhood days.

Gruff is a great character. He is still learning to speak yet no one listens when he tells them of the werewolf's. Not that I blame them, I wouldn't have believed him either. But yet I feel indignant on his behalf. Keep fighting back Gruff!!
