Everyone who has ever been disappointed in Love knows how hard it is to find the "right" person. All too often we fall for people who seem too good to be true...and then discover they are. True romance is a gamble. But now there's a way to greatly reduce the odds. In LoveTypes, relationship expert Dr. Alexander Avila declares a dating revolution with his groundbreaking LoveType system -- the scientifically proven and effective method for instantly recognizing your true soul mate when you meet him or her. Based on the theory behind the most popular personality test today -- the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator -- and years of extensive research, the remarkable LoveType system is exactly what you need to cut through the dating maze. By first taking a brief quiz, you determine your unique LoveType profile. From there, the system guides you toward the LoveType best for you and provides specific answers to your most pressing relationship
I'm always amazed how accurate this book is! Try it out with friends, family-members, partners, or your spouse. You'll learn a lot about yourself and others.
This book is great for/geared towards people familiar with Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and its 16 personality types (Based on personality theories of Carl Jung). Even if you don't know your type, this book has a primitive quiz that will type you into one of those sixteen types. But I would suggest taking the much detailed tests than can be found online (humanmetrics), or in books (like Please Understand Me II: Temperament, Character, Intelligence) for accuracy's sake.
So, the basic premise of LoveType is that people are compatible based on similarities in temperament. Even though it's romantic to think opposites attract, they might not always end up staying attracted to each other and loathe the differences. We might just want someone who is similar to us but with some added quirks that are complementary.
What I liked about this book was the idea that mates could be chosen based on temperament alone. There are also target questions one could ask to type someone on the go, or in the span of multiple dates. The book also gives advice on where to look for ideal mates, how to deal with ideal types in dates/relationships, in the bedroom..and what to expect from them long-term.
I didn't like the following about the book: -Corny advice, especially how to seduce ideal types, and what to do in the bedroom. -The 'real life' examples given of type dynamics. -The book is primitively written...too much air and not enough substance. Reads like a pop-psychology book (which it kinda is). -Endorsement of services. No I will not shell out money for SingleBooklovers.com.. -No advice on how some of us unfortunates can better our chances of landing a mate. Apparently, me being an INFJ banishes me to 4% of the female population and there is nothing I can do about it. Any tips would've been helpful...
There are 4 general groups of personality traits with 2 each making 8 specific types. 4 combinations by 2 gives you 16 different personality types. These are all discussed individually and how they tend to interact with the other types and visa versa. Use this tool to help in finding why and who is most compatable with you - and leave aside a lot of heartache that you might otherwise encounter. a great take on the myer-briggs test methodology and gearing it more towards our romantic inclinations.
seru bgt pas ngisi kuis love type-nya, buat nentuin ada di type mana kita sbnernya, tp kok teu cucok ya? he2.. soalnya kadang hasilnya abu2, antara Perceivier ma Judger misalnya.. but have a nice try.. ;)
This book is very interesting and especially in that it gives you suggestions/overviews of how your type interacts with other types. I force all the friends in my group to take this! lollll :) Ladies (and men) arm yourselves with information. :)
