Cannot be read as a standalone
Omega is now my favorite book in the series. Mackenzie Grey is still a bit disrespectful and full of attitude, but she has evolved into such a strong character. This story just has more of everything. More romance. More heartbreak. More evil. I couldn't put this down.
My only complaint would be the ending of the book. I dived into this thinking that this was the final book in the series. The last chapter made me feel a bit disappointed and empty. BUT DON'T WORRY. Karina Espinosa plans on continuing MG's journey.

How Can Something so Good End So Poorly
Let's start this review with a praise. The first three books were spectacular. It was so good I was ready to put it on my annual read list then ... this book happened. Perhaps I'm being unfair because, in many ways, this book is well written (if you ignore the editing mistakes) and enjoyable but I can't help but to compare it to the first three of this series and found it woefully wanting.
Her first three books were well crafted and well thought out development of not only McKenzie Gray but all the the supporting characters. It was so well done that death of even the most minor characters tore a piece out of me. I mourn their loss like I would a friend.
This book, in contrast, felt abbreviated and rushed. The final development of McKenzie's character and ability felt like check boxes that needed to be checked off before all the loose ends are tied off and put in the shelf. Her struggle to comes to terms with her losses and her growth as a person afterwards was given the short shrift.
In the end there was so much more that could be done with her if the author gave herself the time and patience to develop it and, by doing so, would have brought McKenzie into the pantheon of great kick-ass heroines in the vain of Kate Daniels, Raine Beneres, or Shanti of Warrior Chronicles.

As soon as I heard about this book being available to read I was eager to receive my copy to read and review. I've loved all the previous books in this series so far but this is the last in the series, so I wondered if it would live up to my expectations, and how would it end? Would it be such a final ending that the characters could never be revisited, or would the author leave us the reader still having to answer some of the many questions ourselves, leaving the possibility of a return in the future?
Once again on this cover the kick-ass Mackenzie Grey is front and centre, with the background being the real image of where the Brooklyn Pack warehouse is. This cover fits perfectly with the rest of the series too. I have to say I also loved the original covers.
As the blurb reveals dead bodies are turning up all around New York, some are human, and some are supernatural. Mackenzie and the rest of the Supernatural Investigations Unit have to work out why these deaths are happening, who or what is doing them before they can even plan how to stop them. Mackenzie isn't on top form at all, still carrying a lot of guilt about what happened to best friend, Luna Blu as well as the other Luna's that answered her call to stand up for themselves. Mackenzie has been ignoring her wolf for some time now and finds it extremely painful to shift at all. Lieutenant Briggs head of the SIU has to bring in another lycan to make up the numbers of his officers (you'll learn why when you read the book. I am trying my best here not to give any spoilers!). This new officer that Mackenzie instantly dislikes is Cassidy Chang a member of the Queens' pack. It takes a lot of time for Mackenzie to accept Cas let alone accept his help with her wolf. I mean after the type of attention Mackenzie has had from some wolves you can't blame her for being suspicious of Cassidy and his motives. At one point in the book when Mackenzie has reached out to Bash, and things are still unresolved, he turns up at her flat and upon finding Cassidy there jumps to the conclusion Mackenzie has "moved on" and is in a relationship with him. The thing about Mackenzie and Bash they are so stubborn around each other. If they would just sit down and talk through everything with each other they could sort out any problems and move on either together or apart. I seriously wanted to shout at them both at times in this book. Another wolf who needs a good shaking & talking to is Jackson who can't seem to get over the fact the love of his life is now a vampire, as well as the fact his brother Jonah is staying and working in Scotland. . . . and then other things happen to him. . . . Jonah is the one who has a right to mope about and be moody etc but what he does. . .well. I know this probably isn't making a great deal of sense but trust me when you read the book...wow!
As the plot develops it becomes clear that all these deaths are somehow tethered to Mackenzie. First she must break this connection and then face the reality of who she is as a human as well as a wolf. She has to kind of learn to coexist and become at one with her wolf, to trust her instincts. This becomes even more needed when she discovers she has another ability which enlarges the ever present target on her back! Of course she has the SIU, with new addition Cassidy, but she soon comes to realise she will need more than her fellow lycans to defeat the "dark force" that is planning to take over not only the supernatural's world but the humans and their world too! We see the return of some evil characters we have already met whom Mackenzie has to battle with and defeat once and for all with her mixed supernatural army of friends behind her. So yes we get another great fix of Sebastian, Jonah and Jackson. Then there's Amy and how she is coping with her new life and the realities of being a vampire. During the battle old partnerships return and new bonds are made, there's even help from some rather unexpected sources too.
I could seriously go on and on about this book. I want to talk all about it but not spoil the revelations in the book for other readers. If you have loved the rest of the series then you should really adore this last book. You really go through a load of emotions reading this book, there's times you will smile, times you will want to shout at some of the characters in the book (yep Mackenzie included), and then there's the strong emotion in reaction to how far Mackenzie is prepared to go for, and sacrifice for her best friend, to undo the harm she feels she has caused her. One of the older characters that returns when they are most needed, is Lucian and he had me in tears! I truly love his character, a proper old fashioned gentleman. I love his terms of endearment, when he calls Mackenzie "Pet".
I even ended up feeling affection towards a couple of the so called "bad guy" characters. One, is wanted by the SIU, but may also be the one that could help Mackenzie with a personal goal of fixing something for a close friend. The other is Malaki, a member of the Fae...and we all know how the Fae cannot be trusted! To be honest I really don't usually like Fae in books as characters at all, but this is one of the few series with them in, that I do really enjoy them in. Obviously my favourite character is a "no brainer" it's Mackenzie, the kick-ass, no nonsense, female lycan who wants to change the existing "traditional" role of Luna's. Mackenzie is an idol/hero to the young Luna's. Mackenzie has managed what was initially considered impossible and has managed to persuade some of the Alphas and packs to reconsider their treatment of Lunas. A change that will continue to be slow and a learning experience along the way.
To say I loved the book is kind of an understatement! The way the books ends is good. I'd say some "issues" are left for the reader to decide how they will end. For me the way things were left, still left me with questions, as well as wanting even more. Maybe Karina will revisit these characters again? Or maybe they will be featured in another series? Or there could be more books at a later date? (I hope so!).
My first thoughts as I finished were. . . Karina! really!? That can't be the absolute end! I still want more, I want more about the different Supernatural Investigations Unit, more of the Brooklyn Pack and the possibilities new Luna's will bring. So to sum up I've truly loved, and adored reading this series from the very beginning to the very end. It would be so amazing to re-visit these characters a little down the line maybe. . . .? I can wish for more, you never know? To Karina I want to say thank you for a fantastic series, filled with characters so brilliant, I have become so attached to and don't want to believe I have to say goodbye to them!

Mackenzie Grey is investigating a serial killing in New York for the Supernatural Investigative Unit (SIU). Meanwhile, she is still suffering from the events the transpired with her pack and the Lunas. This contemporary urban fantasy is suitable for adult audiences.
I loved this book. Karina Espinosa continues to do an exceptional job with her plot and character development. Mackenzie is understandably struggling with the aftermath from the Luna rebellion. She has sequestered herself from other wolves. She is suffering mentally and physically. She is punishing herself. She goes through more than any one person should have to endure. She is strong and smart. She is an exceptional leader. She transforms a lot throughout this story.
I love that so many characters from the previous books were brought back in this novel. The story has valuable lessons and good observations. It had me feeling just about every emotion. I cry toward the ending. OMEGA was well concluded. I am sad the series ended. I would love to see a spin off series. I also think the Mackenzie Grey series would make an excellent movie or television series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

um wow! That ending, I really love Kenzie and the world she finds herself into in this series. I am still on a book high and am sad to see this series end. I really enjoyed getting to new the characters, big and small. Karina is so detailed with her writing you can see the words and characters leap off the page at you. You can vividly see in your mind what's being written. I really love the way she ended this series, even if she did tear my heart out. With Omega I felt myself more drawn to Bash than Jonah, although my heart still went out to him. Kenzie is still finding herself in so much drama, even if she doesn't want it, its being brought to her regardless. Her "step" brother and the Fae Queen are out for revenge and will stop at nothing to get what they want. Even if that means taking those close to Kenzie. My emotions were all over the place with Omega, I loved everything about it. I felt we got to see another side of Mackenzie. We knew she was head strong and powerful, but we also knew she was vulnerable and we got to see more of that vulnerable side of her. It made her feel more real, more relatable. She finally realized that although she was kick ass, she wasn't undefeatable. This was a big wake up call for her. It was either fight for those she loved or give up and risk not only her life but theirs as well.
Def my fave series Ive read in 2017, highly recommend reading this, especially if you love shifters, witches, vampires and love triangles. This series will keep you wanting more, even at the very end.

This was an amazing ending to the series!! The way thos author goes into such detail in her stories is absolutely amazing!! In Omega Mackenzie and her team are after a killer that's targeting both humans and supernatural. But when one of the losses is personal a new team is brought in to take over. Will they be able to work together to catch the killer? You're gonna have to read the book to find out.

The end of an Era
It is not often that I wait for books but in the case of the Mackenzie Grey series, it has been three years of intense devotion for this series. Sadly after years of intense battles, estranged friendships, and complete vulnerability; we have come full circle where Mackenzie returns home to New York City.
Omega is the last installment of the Mackenzie Grey series where we find Mackenzie at home licking her wounds after the battle for freedom of the Luna’s in Scotland. Dubbed the Lone Wolf, Freedom Princess, and my personal one, Badass with a chip on her shoulder; Kenzie has a very Daenerys Targareyen situation where she has plenty of titles but in her regard, it is more of a case of survivor's guilt and PTSD.
Mackenzie has immersed herself with her job at the SIU, a branch of law and order for the Supernatural amid humanity with a disturbing case of missing drained people and all evidence points to one source--Vampires. Unfortunately, all does not appear as such and now the SIU must find out who and why these deaths are occurring before there are any more victims. Teamed up with her human partner Garrett Michaels, Mackenzie works closely with her team but it is quickly discovered good old Kenzie has a secret of her own. In fact she has plenty but the question remains how long will she survive if she keeps everyone at bay?
In good old Mackenzie fashion, she finally realizes she is completely vulnerable, alone, and isolating herself completely from everyone in her pack. Amy and Lucian have cut her off her indefinitely, Bash (Swoon) is but a memory at this point, and even poor Michael’s is feeling the brunt of Kenzie’s state of mind. She is a downward spiral and rock bottom has pointed swords waiting for her fall. At the brink of a breakdown, Mackenzie is forced to deal with her feelings or it will cost her even her job! In a damned if she does or damned if she doesn’t predicament, Mackenzie has to go down memory lane if she is ever to cope with her decisions.
It is quickly discovered that Mackenzie is not the same person but her snakry attitude never misses a beat. In truth, as a reader, we’ve finally glimpsed into the fragile state of her life and it is powerful! The saying, there is strength in weakness, comes to mind and in our girl Mackenzie’s case, it is the absolute truth. As a loyal fan, this part of Mackenzie’s life in Omega gripped me and took me down the perilous emotional journey and loved every page of it.
Karina Espinosa has a gift of bringing in old characters and creating new genuine characters, which really makes a reader want them to have their own spin-off series (hint-hint, I’m looking at you Bobby Wu). Give me a good anti-hero any day of the week and I am there like Victoria Secret’s semi-annual sale, hooked and ready to splurge on sexy, sinful, and downright just naughty unmentionables and that Warlock is my new crush. Sorry Bash! We have the new wolf in Mackenzie’s life. Calm yourselves, he is no Bash replacement but a loyal lycan and that is exactly what Kenzie needed during this intense moment of her life. Granted, Kenzie didn’t make it easy, (that’s our girl) but in the end, good old Chang comes through for our girl. We have a cameo with Miss Karina’s new character, Raven Romero for her new upcoming series, The Last Valkyrie and last but certainly not least, we get a mini-tantrum from Miss Diana Stone herself. Slutty and stupid as ever but still hilarious!
Y’all this is just the BEGINNING! Do you see what I am saying? This book is chock full of emotional roller coasters and we haven’t even got to the good part--The Battle of the Queens! It is just as intense as it sounds but prepare your hearts fans because a box of Kleenex was used while reading this book.
Normally, my reviews have the pros and cons but I could honestly find no con during reading. The plot was well thought out and written, the book was paced well, and you can see the full growth of not only the character but the writer as well. Kudos to you Miss Karina, you have outdone yourself.
Listen folks, if you haven’t read the series, let me tell you, you don’t know what you’ve been missing but if there is one thing for sure, it’s a fantastic Urban Fantasy series. But in the words of LeVar Burton, “you don’t have to take my word for it,” go check it out today!

Sadly after years of intense battles, estranged friendships, and complete vulnerability; we have come full circle where Mackenzie returns home to New York City.
Omega is the last installment of the Mackenzie Grey series where we find Mackenzie at home licking her wounds after the battle for freedom of the Luna’s in Scotland. Dubbed the Lone Wolf, Freedom Princess, and my personal one, Badass with a chip on her shoulder; Kenzie has a very Daenerys Targareyen situation where she has plenty of titles but in her regard, it is more of a case of survivor's guilt and PTSD.
Mackenzie has immersed herself with her job at the SIU, a branch of law and order for the Supernatural amid humanity with a disturbing case of missing drained people and all evidence points to one source--Vampires. Unfortunately, all does not appear as such and now the SIU must find out who and why these deaths are occurring before there are any more victims. Teamed up with her human partner Garrett Michaels, Mackenzie works closely with her team but it is quickly discovered good old Kenzie has a secret of her own. In fact she has plenty but the question remains how long will she survive if she keeps everyone at bay?
In good old Mackenzie fashion, she finally realizes she is completely vulnerable, alone, and isolating herself completely from everyone in her pack. Amy and Lucian have cut her off her indefinitely, Bash (Swoon) is but a memory at this point, and even poor Michael’s is feeling the brunt of Kenzie’s state of mind. She is a downward spiral and rock bottom has pointed swords waiting for her fall. At the brink of a breakdown, Mackenzie is forced to deal with her feelings or it will cost her even her job! In a damned if she does or damned if she doesn’t predicament, Mackenzie has to go down memory lane if she is ever to cope with her decisions.
It is quickly discovered that Mackenzie is not the same person but her snakry attitude never misses a beat. In truth, as a reader, we’ve finally glimpsed into the fragile state of her life and it is powerful! The saying, there is strength in weakness, comes to mind and in our girl Mackenzie’s case, it is the absolute truth. As a loyal fan, this part of Mackenzie’s life in Omega gripped me and took me down the perilous emotional journey and loved every page of it.
Karina Espinosa has a gift of bringing in old characters and creating new genuine characters, which really makes a reader want them to have their own spin-off series (hint-hint, I’m looking at you Bobby Wu). Give me a good anti-hero any day of the week and I am there like Victoria Secret’s semi-annual sale, hooked and ready to splurge on sexy, sinful, and downright just naughty unmentionables and that Warlock is my new crush. Sorry Bash! We have the new wolf in Mackenzie’s life. Calm yourselves, he is no Bash replacement but a loyal lycan and that is exactly what Kenzie needed during this intense moment of her life. Granted, Kenzie didn’t make it easy, (that’s our girl) but in the end, good old Chang comes through for our girl. We have a cameo with Miss Karina’s new character, Raven Romero for her new upcoming series, The Last Valkyrie and last but certainly not least, we get a mini-tantrum from Miss Diana Stone herself. Slutty and stupid as ever but still hilarious!
Y’all this is just the BEGINNING! Do you see what I am saying? This book is chock full of emotional roller coasters and we haven’t even got to the good part--The Battle of the Queens! It is just as intense as it sounds but prepare your hearts fans because a box of Kleenex was used while reading this book.
Normally, my reviews have the pros and cons but I could honestly find no con during reading. The plot was well thought out and written, the book was paced well, and you can see the full growth of not only the character but the writer as well. Kudos to you Miss Karina, you have outdone yourself.
Listen folks, if you haven’t read the series, let me tell you, you don’t know what you’ve been missing but if there is one thing for sure, it’s a fantastic Urban Fantasy series. But in the words of LeVar Burton, “you don’t have to take my word for it,” go check it out today!

Unexpected
The first start of the book is a major disappointment for me. Mackenzie is moon bound again and behaving like an idiotic waste of space and I had to stop myself from flipping through the pages in the hope that the story picked up steam and became interesting again. The beginning was drab, the middle pretty good but the ending could have been better. However the series as a whole was enjoyable to read.

Omg this is the week, where it seems one day after another I am reviewing the final book of a series.
Just yesterday it was the last one for The Dark Romeo Trilogy by Sienna Blake and today I am saying farewell to my girl Mackenzie Grey!
I was heartbroken yesterday, and I am equally as much today too! Mackenzie holds a special place in my heart as one she is a badass and two well because she was my first lycan I really really loved!
I discovered the original trilogy back in April (so not that long ago really) and I totally fell head over heals in love with the books.
I think we can fairly say that I was very enthusiastic about the books and I was so happy when I discovered that Karina was writing the final chapter in Omega.
I have a hard hard time letting go of beloved characters, anyone who reads my reviews on my blog knows that, and this one guys belongs that same family!

I am saying this in the hopes that you have read the first 3 books otherwise what I am talking about my good friends will make no sense whatsoever for you!
So.... yes, my girl Kenzie misses her bestie and is quite down whilst a series of murders are happening in New York.

Though she has isolated herself, it is clear she misses Bash and the other wolves though she is still hellbent on not belonging to a pack.
One of things that I liked about Omega is that we went a bit more into the murders investigation and that brought back fond memories of the Sookie Stackhouse books. After all, both series deal with the supernatural world and each have some sort of murder/mystery/something to solve in between daily life events.
I am not going to dig into too much detail and spoil the final for you but I can tell you that we have an epic battle and a lot of things are resolved!

However, because I love you all I need to warn you that you will facing a very sad sad sad I cried so hard moment and I am still barely recovering!
I will not say anything further, but you will know what I am talking about when you get there. As I am typing this review, I am tearing up again thinking about it.
Honestly guys and girls, this book is fantastic and I really hope maybe we can get a standalone little adventure with the gang sometimes in the future! (pretty please Karina!!! I did say I have a hard time letting go...)
I will say that you cannot Omega as a standalone you will need to have read all 3 previous books to really fall in love with the series and the really fantastic characters in it!
Lets be honest, you do not have to love vampires, werewolves or other supernatural beings to enjoy this series, at the end they are job people and that is a universal story!

I think this release had me the most excited in a while for a new book. I fell for this main character who isn't really like anyone I have read in a long time. She is fresh. She is who she is. She accepts that. But with the weight of everything that has happened in the short amount of time that it has. The loss of friends, and people she never knew, as the past is shining lights on the future that was paved long ago. Somethings you just never can let go. And when you want to. How?
I love the fact that the main character shows, at some points you think overload of emotional restraint. That she doesn't ever see what is right in front of her. She has always gone to great lengths to protect the ones she loves, her pack. But will she be willing to make yet another sacrifice? Will she finally choose and explore the weird tension between her and Bash? How can anything ever seem right when it all gets everyone she loves hurt.
Her best friend won't talk to her, she is back at work doing what she loves, but when she needs help the most, sometimes you just need to get away for a minute to think. Or walk to a Chinese restaurant. Mackenzie will have to learn, like always, the hard way to open her mind and sometimes just enjoy life.
This book does conclude Mackenzie story and it is not a let down at all. The emotional rollercoster and huge crying for me at the end was understandable but also unexpected at the same time. Ans one of the best parts for me is when a certain man says that he will not let her be alone again. You just fall for these characters who think they are all doing good, but somehow manage to screw up somewhere and manage to fix the broken bone. You can feel the pack within this odd ball group of misfits.
The summary here is that is amazing author has gotten you to fall for a bunch of amazing misfits who just want to be who they are. Laugh and snicker at Mackenzie as she pulls yet another trick after another so that she can do what she does best. Watch two brothers protect the girl they love, but only one can have her heart. And friends after friends grow on you as you pray they make it out alive and in some amazing fashion that sometimes I wouldn't have guessed happen.

Such a good end! I felt so completed by it even if the end cut off a bit early in my opinion. It still worked because everything had really been tied off excellently. I had my doubts at the beginning especially when I found out that Mackenzie had a huge backslide and was moon bound again. I did not expect that. I was also surprised by her not talking to Bash and Jonah and Lucien and Amy for so long! How?! How do you have this crazy epic moment in the third book and then go to nothing? That was hard to read but it also fit with Mackenzie’s character. When Bash talks about knowing she was outside the Brooklyn Packs warehouse sitting for hours listening to them talk, my heart just burst. That would have been so hard! That’s one of the things l loved about Bash and Mackenzie and why in my opinion they worked. He always seemed to know when to push and not to push and how (with a few temper tantrums every once and a while). I really felt frantic the whole time Kenz started planing on sacrificing herself! I thought, surely this is not how this book ends!
There were just so many good parts of this book! Once again, loved king Alexander! Loved Cassidy and loved that he wasn’t all smitten with her. At first when he seemed like he was I was really annoyed. Like come on, does this girl poop gold or something! This series def goes down as one of my favourite! I read it on kindle unlimited but I will be buying them for my library! I loved all the girl power and how Mackenzie was only ever just herself no matter if it was a king, super hot wolves, the wolf culture she came into or other supernaturals always trying to make her be something different. There is a good lesson there! You might not be able to do everything perfect or the way people perceive it should be done but that doesn’t mean your way won’t work just as well. 5 stars for sure!

When I was looking for another shifter story/series to read/listen to I saw this series and noticed that it has a lower amount of reviews then I’m use to with a series…I try or purchase….but what ratings it does have are High…I took a chance and OMG…this series has some of the BEST WRITING/STORY TELLING…I have experienced in a long time…The Author has a magnificent way of bringing these Characters together and allowing the Lead to just Blow me away/aggravate/love/hate/and learn to understand why she does what she does…Makenzie Grey is such an amazing Character - with the Way she STANDS up for what she believes in NO MATTER the consequence & the way she is written makes ME feel like I am standing right beside her and going through everything with her-I love her HIGHS & cried and many lows she goes through. Her Friends and different co-workers are just so well written - I feel like they are my friends also-Greys independent attitude and her Real Struggles of coming to terms with her being a wolf and with what her true heritage is…is just a fantastic world I got lost in…I cannot wait to read/listen more …The Narrator is One of the BEST! I hope more people discover this series and character - so many are missing out on a WONDERFUL shifter series!!!

The stunning conclusion to the series and decisively one of the top ten books I've read in 2017.
Mackenzie hasn't grown as much in the year since book three ended as I might've thought, in fact she really regressed. But with everything she'd been through in such a short time, it's understandable.
But despite, or perhaps because of, her regressions, self-recriminations, sarcasm and love for blaming everything bad on herself; she really grew a lot in this book. She was no longer as cocky but still had confidence.
The end chapter began to mend the damage from Karina ripping my heart out in the Battle of the Queens and stomping all over it. I wish we could learn what happens with the surviving members of her ragtag Pack and where she goes from here....But the book ended where it made sense to end.
I loved this series and how very kickass but dramatically flawed our heroine was. Plus the fact she had to pay for her mistakes with some fairly tragic costs. There's no sugar coating or extreme suspension of disbelief over her making such impulsive decisions - and I love that the shrink didn't hesitate to call her out on it.

I can't believe it
This was GOOD, because you see a lot of the final war. It lead up to this and I'm glad there's A lot to take in.
In general, Mackenzie is a pain, and I struggled a little more in this one because of how she kept pulling away and there's only so much I can take. But eventually it paid off and she learned from it. I appreciate her thing with Sebastian because he's not too predictable. Obviously he is now because they're together but I also like that she didn't just go with him. Even though she was stubborn, she still waited before doing it all.
I felt a lot of pity for Kenzie and the people effected. I also loved that more supernatural kind were involved. But this book deals a lot with suicide. These weren't pleasant to go through but these things never are without some detachment. The ending was good... Karina why do you kill me so!? My heart is literally broken!!! GAH!!!!
Firstly, I have to say that this isn’t the last book, according to Karina’s Facebook there will be 2 more separate Mackenzie series...I’m beyond excited to read those by the way... so for all the people who felt like this shouldn’t have been the ending, well it’s not, so chill.
Secondly, Can I just say this this book completed me? Like Mackenzie finally put on her big girl panties and decided she needed to deal with her ish! I was happy about that.
Also any book that can make me cry and my heart break and gives me those unexpected OMG moments is a book that deserves 5 trillion stars! ⭐️
And thirdly, this series as a whole was one of the easiest reads ever! I say this because it captures your attention and before you know it the book is over. Mackenzie is all of us and reading from her perspective is really enjoyable and entertaining.

Very exciting
I couldn’t put it down and had to finish it before I fell asleep. There were a few things I didn’t like in the story... but they would be major SPOILERS. Main thing was, in vague terms, again Kenzie didn’t tell the person she wanted to cure that the cure would cost someone’s life. Had that person known, she would not have been interested in it and the other person would not have decided to sacrifice themselves for her. Plus she’s not going to take the cure anyways, probably, now that she can kick butt in battles. So that person we loved is dead for no good reason. It was a complete waste, in my opinion. He was wounded, but not fatally. It was like the author wanted to end that story line. I was really upset about it. Especially as we know she won’t want the cure anyway. But either way, the story was exciting and our Kenzie definitely did some much needed growing and maturing. It was definitely a fun read... until someone important died, at least.

Lacking
I really felt like the story was lacking. There was so much going on that it was overwhelming. A lot of the times things were stated that were never followed up on. An example being how MC was supposed to train and teach the Luna's who joined the Brooklyn pack but then we never saw that. There was also supposed to be the promise of some growth with her character development and yet it was two pages long and didn't hold much in the way of growth. She simply fell asleep had a dream woke up and was OP. There was also the issues with her suddenly becoming extremely powerful and using her gift after no practice and no growth and development which was a little frustrating. Overall the book promised a lot but then never made the main character work for it. She simply didn't because she believes she could which kind of makes the entire story pointless. Overall it was definitely not one of her better books.

What a wonderful end to the Origins series! Karina Espinosa has created a book that not only do you love the characters but gives you an emotional rollercoaster ride too!
Mackenzie Grey is in the Supernatural Investigative Unit. It’s up to her team to find a killer who is targeting humans and supernaturals, what the killer is and why the killer is doing this. When a team member is killed and said killer seems to know Mackenzie she’s pulled off the case. Add in a new team member and let the games begin!
Will Mackenzie and her team solve the mystery, will they stop what the serial killer is doing? Will Mackenzie get along with the newest member of the SIU? To find out you will have to read this hard to put down book!

So I’ve had the luxury of reading these books back to back as if they were one novel and I can say that the author has created a really good and intriguing story line. Reading these books this way has also allowed me to see how the characters have developed over time without any gaps in between, with that being said most of the characters have developed in positive ways except Mackenzie Grey. She has become the most annoying character in this book. In a series, you expect characters to shift, have the experiences that they have gone through in previous books to change them, but Mackenzie hasn’t seems to learn anything. This trait seemed to be the most annoying part of the book and I found myself rolling my eyes and saying oh here we go again. Again the story was great and found myself still enjoying it, just not so much when Mackenzie was on the page.

I am so over MacKenzie! 3 stars.
Mackenzie's personality and self involvement really grates in this to the book's detriment. After 4 books a smidgeon of romance would help too. To me this was a slower book than the one's preceding it and it all led to a rather flat HEA.
Ms Espinosa has a lot going for her but she really needs to work on her ability to write emotion, her age appropriate characterisation and please, please, please - her use of idiom. Almost all the idioms used are incorrect, the spellings or basic words are off too eg: peak instead of peek and eventually that gets a bit annoying too. Grammarly would help or just getting a decent proof reader.
Despite this I would still recommend this series to readers that aren't picky and are looking for a fast paced Rachel Vincent or Kelley Armstrong like Werewolf tale albeit not of that quality.
Mackenzie's personality and self involvement really grates in this to the book's detriment. After 4 books a smidgeon of romance would help too. To me this was a slower book than the one's preceding it and it all led to a rather flat HEA.
Ms Espinosa has a lot going for her but she really needs to work on her ability to write emotion, her age appropriate characterisation and please, please, please - her use of idiom. Almost all the idioms used are incorrect, the spellings or basic words are off too eg: peak instead of peek and eventually that gets a bit annoying too. Grammarly would help or just getting a decent proof reader.
Despite this I would still recommend this series to readers that aren't picky and are looking for a fast paced Rachel Vincent or Kelley Armstrong like Werewolf tale albeit not of that quality.

Good read
This book is the fourth and last of the series. All books are mainly told from Kenzies POV. She is strong but always running away not able to deal with all the emotions. I didnt like that this book started a year after the 3rd book. In that year Kenzie fell apart literally. She lost everything. In the end one man was lost and the other became her soulmate. Not withstanding her soulmate never said he loved her but rather showed her. It would have been nice to read about their mating ceremony and whether Amy took the potion. If Jackson got back with Amy. It just finished with a very sad funeral after a very quick fight with the queen of the fae and Drew. With that was a strong storyline. I enjoyed reading the series. Recommeded

I loved this fourth and sadly final book in the Mackenzie Grey series. This shifter series follows kenzie, a lone wolf, a Luna that doesn’t conform. If you like shifter books then this is definitely the series for you. I loved the fact that the hero in this series was female even in the male oriented world of werewolves. This book closes the story of kenzie, she goes from a lone wolf to making a pack of her own, the most unconventional pack you’ll ever see, a pack containing not only the king of the lycan but also humans, vampires and even fae.
This book does not really work as a stand alone it wouldn’t make enough sense without the other three books beforehand but definitely give them a read. I loved them.

Wicked ending!
This series is awesome! It makes no excuses much like Mackenzie! Totally loved it! I was so taken with the revelation at the very very very end that I had to go back and read Ophelia's vision. Alexander, ranulf, Lucien, Amy, cas and all the rag tag pack characters I just love. Bash! I knew it! So pleased on that development! Jonah. My heart breaks. Not so much for how it ends as much as for the damage that was done. A tortured soul that now has peace.
See what this story does? It makes you feel...well forces you to because it's so well written. It has the right amount of suspense, sas, mystery, wit, sarcasm and comedic relief! I burned through all 4 books and the plot never becomes stale. It's all action, suspense and laughter the whole time!

Amazing!! I've volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. This is the fourth and last book in this series. This has been an amazing journey. I have loved watching this story unfold. Mackenzie is brash and out spoken but she will do whatever she can to save her friends. These book is not an standalone, you have to read each book from the first one. There's so much that could be said about this series but it also would spoil it too. So you just have to take get this series and read them for yourself. I promise you that you will not be disappointed in this series. Keep up the awesome job!!

Omega is the fourth and final book in the series. This book has yet another time jump, but it works to further the story. We have a majority of our answers at this point, but there are some important answers we are still missing. This story opens up and we get another very much changed Mackenzie. Honestly, I feel for her. She has had to go through so many different changes throughout this series. This book is the perfect conclusion to this wild trip we have been on. I think you will be satisfied once you get there.

Great conclusion to a great series
Everything comes full circle in this book. I laughed and I cried. Mackenzie met new allies and lost old friends, more Importantly she found herself.
In this book the fae queen starts a war with basically everyone. Starts out with Mackenzie working with SIU I to solve murders of both humans and paranormals. She is punishing herself and is in an extreme funk after all the loss in Scotland. I enjoyed the added romance to this book, though it's still a small part to the storyline. Highly recommend the series. Really glad it didn't end at book 3 as originally planned.

I typically don't re-read books/series. However, the characters and events of this series have stuck with me. I had this book on my backlog to read and wanted to make sure I remembered all events correctly. So I re-read the whole series one right after the other. I think this book was by far the best book of the series! I absolutely love Mackenzie and her pack. Mackenzie is a kick-ass, take action and apologize later kind of woman. There are a ton of awesome supporting characters in the series that I love as well. I totally loved how everything came down in this book. It all made sense. I can't wait to see where Karina goes with Mackenzie now!
