Set, a novella by the talented author Alexandria House, is a fast-paced and spicy read that effortlessly switches between present and past tense, vividly capturing the essence of the characters’ relationship. It’s a compelling page-turner that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Amazing and a QUICK read!

OMG this whole series is AMAZING but let's get into Set! Set kicks off the Them Boys series that will have you hooked from the start of the book. In this one, one steamy encounter leads to a "friends-with-benefits" situation between two people from completely different worlds, but when feelings get involved? Chile!

The chemistry between Set and Kareema is off the charts and watching them both catch feelings while trying to keep things casual was intense! I loved how they went from this mutually beneficial "arrangement" to actually needing each other emotionally. The "different worlds" aspect added so much depth to their connection as well.

Warning - this one is spicy and has strong language, but if you're here for that and it's your vibe, you're in for a treat ;). The novella format keeps things tight and intense without any filler.

I really enjoyed this Audiobook. The narration was top tier.

I really loved that the couple was older. As a mature reader, this was great to read. Set and Kareema were funny, engaging and sexy together.

Pretty quick listen. Definitely recommend.

"Set" by Author: Alexandria House
An Urban Romance
Novella 1 in the (Them Boys) Trilogy
*NO SPOILERS*

This novella is the story of Set and Kareema. How a by chance encounter, turned into something they both didn't know they needed.

Set, who is blind of his own self-worth due to his life experiences, circumstances, and lack of real love and affection doesn't think he deserves something good. Surely not a good woman like Kareem.

Kareema is doing great with her career yet has baby daddy issues that has her stressed most of the time and scared her from wanting to start fresh with any man. I mean who could blame her. She wasn't ever going to have a crazy baby daddy again.

The both of them are just what each other needs but do they put aside their own insecurities and baggage to try their shot or do they just enjoy the moment in order to not ruin things and create further trauma?

When I tell you Set is every bit of protection you have ever dreamed of from a man. I mean I have been single for a few years now and I even contemplated on putting myself back on the market just to be protected and loved fiercely. That kind of man demands a certain amount of respect and deserves every ounce of surrender. A straight shooter that doesn't play about what he deems his. Ooooweee, this book had me going directly into book 2 without pause. I will always read anything Alexandria House writes. She has not failed me yet.

Set Moses Mitchell was definitely THAT MAN! He got Kareema in his system and was hooked instantly. I like how they both played the role of f- love and f- marriage, when for 3 years they were both hiding their feelings. I wanted to yank up her daughter and her ex because they were both acting unnecessary. I also hurt for Set knowing that he grew up without love in a two parent household. It's ok for a man to lead, but he's not always right. His mom shouldn't have allowed a lot of the foolishness that went on and loved her boys. Any hoo...Set was a beast! IYKYK 🥵 Happy Reading Y'all. 💋

Definitely novella vibes. I enjoyed this quick read and I loooove that she has Jakobi Diem as the voice actor for the audiobook because *melts🥰*
I will say something in me still does not trust Set. This book reminds me of your mom going off and getting a hood ninja to start a life with and it’s like 🙄 girl get a grip. I didn’t like the way he talked to her or handled conflict at times. Something about him is just…off. But I would still recommend!

I sadly think I am just a little tired of smut, but genuinely this book did pull through with a solid plot, great comedy and some loveable characters! I just wanted to listen to a quick, little audiobook, as there was (and still is) a power cut, and this filled my time successfully! It wasn’t the most engaging, but it did push a few audible reactions from me. Though I do think I might shy away from the rest of the series for now…

This book(novella) is equivalent to a terribly done ghetto low budget tubi movie… AND I LOVE IT-

You know when something is so bad that you genuinely start to like it? That was meeeee this whole time, no really tho this was decently okay. I actually listened to the audio version which 100% saved this book for me. The way that the voice actors were able to deliver the lines was amazing 10/10 for them but 3/5 for the overall storyline ~

“Set: Them Boys” was a great read however this series was disturbing sad. I’m astonished a parent can be so cruel. Yet to read SMM persevered through the emotional triggers and trauma is commendable.
