Austin Sexton is a bad-boy media mogul and heir to the Sexton Empire. On the outside, he's a whiskey-slinging bachelor with the world on a string. Problem is, strings break easily.
Deep within lies a war hero who refuses accolades. He buries his pain with his vices, and against my better judgment, I've become one of them. No matter how hard I try to push him away, his secrets draw me in. This man, who appears careless, has passion. If I were looking for someone in my life, I could see myself falling for a guy like him. Good thing love is the last thing I'm looking for.

This somehow ended up in my audible library so I gave it a solid 22 minutes before I just couldn't anymore. 😅 Between the lack of something grabing my attention and the horrible narration, I was OUT! Life is too short to waste time listening to boring stories. NEXT!
What’s not to like about a a secret street racing billionaire media mogul and a sassy smart mouth spitfire love interest! This was a slow burn but you could feel the chemistry from very early on! It’s not overly spicy but still enjoyable! Binged in one day!
Austin, the inaugural book in The Sexton Brothers series, showcases a bad boy persona that aptly fits the character, yet his uniqueness and frequent misjudgment by others set him apart. The intense attraction between Austin and Jaylnn is palpable from their initial encounter, drawing the reader in. Jaylnn is the first individual to penetrate Austin's facade, assisting him in revealing his better qualities, even as his family attempts to expose his personal demons. Jaylnn's own family history is marred by turmoil, and her brother's constant troubles exacerbate the situation. Nevertheless, the couple's bond proves unbreakable, as they provide a stabilizing influence on each other.
I like the idea the author was trying for. The pace was just strange. They’re in love with each other after three weeks. 🫠 and one of those weeks, they didn’t talk for five days. Had the storyline lasted longer than a few weeks, it would’ve been more relatable, more likable.
