The quality and scholarship of this book probably deserve a 5* rating. I've only pulled it down to 4 as it's so dated.

A very well researched, well written interesting study of ancient Egypt. Murray has presented the splendour of Egypt in a concise, but awe inspiring manner, demystifying many myths in the process. To think that such an advanced civilization too could vanish one day, brings life to a different perspective.

If I didn’t have so many books on my TBR I’d probably just go back to the beginning and start reading again.

Seriously out of date. It is an overview of archeology in Egypt. I have no idea why this was on my to read list, but now it is done.
