As interesting as the stories were, there was very little organization in the writing of them. They weren't any chronological order, so it was a little difficult to keep readjusting my mind to the time periods these stories took place in.

This book could be subtitled PEOPLE ARE TERRIBLE. Or, SO YOU THINK MIDWESTERN PEOPLE ARE NICE DO YOU?

Interesting stuff for a mystery writer here, but the writing is pretty bad.
