Released in 1984, shortly after Thriller, this book is mostly a photo book, but with some/limited text. A quick read. I’m okay with the limited text, and I find it just as valuable as a full length book. I love books like these, for not only the history, but also because in the rise of generative ai, real and true photos should be treasured. I’m a firm believer that Michael Jackson is not merely a footnote in American history, but IS a huge part of American History/pop culture. So, I treasure that books like these still circulate. I have always been the kind of person who borders on obsessive, where images are concerned, so a book like this is right up my alley. Features some beautiful early photos of not only Michael, but his brothers and the Jackson 5 as well. Though this is not something that is in all copies of this book, and is unique to mine- I was delighted to find that my second hand copy included a couple of original Motown branded Jackson 5 stickers placed in the book. Thank you, to whatever kid did that decades ago. I love them!
While there are a couple of inaccuracies within the text, it’s not bothersome as the book is surface level and the text isn’t the focal point. A couple I caught for example: the repeated lie that Diana Ross discovered them- I will not hold this one against the author, since that was the “official” (although untrue) story back in the day. And when writing a full list of all Jackson children, Maureen (Rebbie) was not mentioned. I also will not hold this one against the author. Rebbie was arguably the smartest Jackson (half joking) as she stayed (mostly) out of all of those crazy family affairs. 😜
5 stars for a cute, vintage photo book.

A bit childish and simple for my liking, but it was probably aimed at children. Also, it was very interesting to have something from after the release of Thriller, but before Bad.
