Isabeau Fallon, the Fallen Star is one of the finest thieves on Dyson's Ring station--until she's caught by the Skeldhi hunter, Sobehk. Trapped and altered into a skeldhi-human hybrid sex-pet known as a "rehkyt," her past is a closed door -- until it literally comes back to haunt her in the form of E'sey Khan. Khan is a Skeldhi Lord Officer intent on taking Fallon, who is actually the Moribund Company's prize code-cracker, away from Sobehk, the one man he ever loved, and making her his very own.

Seemingly random accidents and hidden programs converge to prove that there is more going on than the capture of a not-so-simple thief. There is a conspiracy afoot...and the small thief from Dyson's Ring station is in it up to her collared throat.

"Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, substantial BDSM elements (including/not limited to bondage, domination/submission, whipping), menage (m/m/f), and homoerotic sexual situations (m/m, f/f)."

REVIEW OF 2007: I don't think Morgan Hawke could top this erotic sci-fi! To say I loved this book would be the understatement of the millennium. I loved it so much, I printed it out (all 400-plus pages!) and took it with me to Maldives where I read it sipping pina coladas on the balcony of my over-water villa. That was the second time I'd read it and when I got home I reformatted the book into tradesize and printed the darn thing all over again and bound it in an A5 2-ring binder! Talk about obsessed but Fallen Star isn't out in print, unlike Victorious Star.

If I liked Victorious Star - and I did - then Fallen Star is the ultimate erotic sci-fi for me. The action begins right at the start as Fallon meets Sobekh when she steals his glider and the sexual tension doesn't let up to the end. By now, I've sort of gotten used to these Skeldhis with the two dicks but was still relieved that there is, like Victorious Star, a human hero. The romance between Sobehk and E’sey Khan, the human hero, is so intense and erotic yet Hawke's skill is such that their relationship did not overshadow their love for Fallon.

And ahhh, Fallon. What a kick-ass heroine. If you enjoy sci-fi and erotic romance, don't miss this book!

Yes, I realize that this is fantasy, but even in fantasy when a girl says no, it means no and when a man says I'll never force you to do anything you don't want to, and then forces her to ask for it, it's still rape. So many times I wanted Fallon to say, "You took away every ounce of dignity from me!" but instead, we are expected to believe that constant humiliation is romantic and falling for your rapist isn't Stockholm Syndrome at all, but the most profound source of love. The fact that Fallon had the inner voice of a middle-schooler made this even more creepy. I suppose this book is to feed a woman's fantasy of being taken and dominated, but allowing Fallon some shred of self-respect and a little maturity would have gone a long way to making this story more than empty mommy porn that feeds the dangerous assumption that when a woman says no, she really means yes.

Sci-fi alien MMF romance with space opera elements. Warning: the alien culture is heavily involved in human kidnapping/trafficking, modification, keeping humans as lifelong pets.
H1, Khan seemed a three-dimensional interesting character, H2 Sobhek was amused all the effing time:( and the h Fallon was basically a non-character with shocking lack of boundaries or basic self-preservation. It stretches credibility to believe any woman would respond (or not respond!) like the h in a similar slavery situation....the h's character only really came to life in the last few pages....

There was stuff which bothered me : there is a final ceremony between the 2 guys but nothing with the h/ the bodyslave. She is treated as a pet, never allowed to sit on furniture even when dining, to be kept locked in when guests are in house, made to stay nude even in public etc. The genetic modifications may also have affected the h's lifespan and she may never be able to have kids with the guys - it was all not very clear. The H's also promise another guy first preference if they ever decide to sell the h. That too right in fromt of her, this is after they've exchanged ILUs! They never stop reminding her that she is a canine pet to them and somehow I am not very optimistic for the long term HEA...

People who love pet play, the bodyslave thing , double cocks, control and kink may love this but readers who read primarily for romance will be left unsatisfied, 3.5 stars.

We are back in the interstellar service and discipline world! YAY! I enjoyed this book too by Ms. Hawke. This time, it's two, not one Skedli! Both of them are so hot. Ms. Hawke's scenes are once again intense and well crafted. I love the slavery aspect in her books. The non consensual is a turn on.

Khan is a sadistic son of a bitch who is also into pain. God how I shiver at the amount of pain he gives Fallen. Fallen is amazing. I love how Ms. Hawke created her. Sobke is to die for too. Reading this book over and over again gets me hot and bothered, every time. The pursuit and capture theme is great. The intense conditioning for submission blows my mind.

6/2014 - I've been doing some comfort rereads after a few books that didn't live up to expectations and this one came up.

This is a great menage read. Each character has their own relationship with each other - Khan and Sobehk have unfinished business from years ago and meeting Isabeau forces them to deal with each other while building a relationship with Isabeau. This is sci-fi-ish but not over the top. I like the descriptions of Isabeau's physical changes. Hot sexytimes! Definitely stood up above many reads I've read since 2011.

5/2011 I love this series and this is my favorite of the three. Isabeau is such a strong character and she meshes so well with Khan and Sobhek.

After mulling over my feelz for damn near a week I have come to the conclusion that I still don't really know how I feel.

Here's what I liked:

✭ These two dudes pounded the bejesus out of Fallon. I mean…
description

✭ These two dudes had 4 cocks betwixt them, 2 of which were pierced to the nines.
description

✭ Awesome world building is awesome. Hawke truly needs to write more in this universe. She can start with that feisty golden prince if I get a vote.

✭ All these characters were well conceived and likable.

✭ The adventure storyline was well balanced with the kinky/sexy times.

Disappointing things:

✭ The writing got a little hokey and repetitive at times.

✭ These 2 dudes have a history of being together. They are clearly into each other. Lub permeates the air. All this buildup had me on the verge of combusting and I just knew there were going to be shooting stars, volcanoes erupting, a possible earthquake, maybe a tsunami… and it was the weakest ass shite. Like ever. 4 cocks has infinite possibilities, right?!?! INFINITE! Did I mention 2 of them are pierced to the nines?

Ooh! I just love alien BDSM! And I should start counting the number of shower scenes in this book! I swear it's like every 25 pages! I liked the plot of the first book better but this was still delisiously yummy. Isabeau was strong willed, insubordinate, badass as a bodyguard, and feisty which I loved. I grew equally attached to both male heros and enjoyed the alpha asshole-ness of Kahn the most.

Whhooooh!! This was... INTENSE. Violent, lots of kick ass action and so so hot!!

P.s. After reading some of the other reviews here, I realized that I must have read an updated version. (Re-published Oktober 2019.) Because Khan is also Skeldhi and this version, thankfully, does not include rape scenes of any kind.

I simply love these sci fi erotic books! They are hot and steamy, but they have plot lines and strong characters. I love them. I am not going to go on and on and list why, just that they are simply the best in this genre that I have read. Hot, hot, hot!!

So listen, you didn't ask but for purposes of this review I'm telling you anyway:

I am an extremely jealous bitch.

Yup. That's me. So anyway, there's a reason I'm telling you this bit of positive advertisement about my personality, and it is because there is a love triangle in this book. Being the extremely jealous bitch that I've just you told I am, I am unable to understand how love triangles could possibly ever work out like they do in Fallen Star.

Granted, it's a sci-fi story about aliens falling in love, but the love triangle conundrum remains.

Here's what happens: there's this human thief, Isabeau, who's caught by an alien hunter called Sohbek (think of him and people of his race as human-like; but bigger, stronger, blood-drinking, and absolutely-sex crazed.) See, Sohbek hunts down people to be turned into sex pets, and Isabeau becomes his.

Tricky part commences: Due to some complications (and I mean complications, I can barely remember what they were, they were so complex), it happens that Isabeau also becomes the sex pet of this princely dude called Khan.

Trickier events unfold: As young men in the academy they went to, Sohbek and Khan were in love, but they never made it official because Sohbek refuses to be subservient, or something like that.

So now there's a human-turned-alien girl, one prince, and one hunter-slash-police-person, and they all happen to love each other equally. You see, as I read the threesome scenes, I couldn't help but think things like "My god, how can he not care that they've completely forgotten he's there in the mids of their fiery passion?" or "Is she not mad that they're fucking while she sits there and watches?" and other things of the like.

Because, and I did tell you, I am a jealous bitch, that's what would be going through my mind if I were the one slightly left out of the action, whilst these people seem to be perfectly content when just two of them fuck sans the third one, or when only one of them is in focus.

The point here is that these three people seem perfectly capable of caring and lusting for each other in absolute equal amounts, a notion that is so ridiculous to me it actually gives me migraines. In the end, though, Fallen Star is a very good sci-fi story with very charismatic characters, but the fact that they not once demonstrate an ounce of jealousy of each other was constantly banging on my head like a gigantic neon sign that says "ABSURD! ABSURD!".

So I guess what I'm saying is, this is a very good book, and I need lots of therapy.

Very important addendum: Khan and Sohbek have two dicks. Yes. One on top of the other. Both huge, naturally. When I first read this description I couldn't stop myself from exploding in fits of giggles every now and then, but weirdly, very weirdly, in the end it actually became sort of fucking hot.

Like I said, I need lots of therapy.

I really did like this next book. The heroine is very strong. I brought it down a star because the first hero, Sobehk (from book 1) starts off very smart, determined and dominant, but is later portrayed (at least my interpretation) as much too weak to be an equal in this triad. Khan is portrayed as super Alpha and Fallon is probably stronger and is definitely better equipped than Kahn. The pair overshadow Sobehk too strongly. Just my impressions.

The story is very good. The dominance, like the first book, is very strong and at times brutal and demeaning in a way that is supposed to make us squirm. Of course, we squirm in a good way even though we know we should be squirming in a bad way. LOL

If you are hoping to meet up with the gang from book 1, it doesn't happen, The only overlap is Sobehk.

I didn't think there was any way to create another book as awesome as "Victorious", but Morgan Hawke pulled it off. First of all, though this book is in the same universe, the characters are totally different. The mood is different too. "Victorious" has a bit more of a military feel, since the heroine is an officer. "Fallen" is much more immersed in the Skeldhi culture and its rich sexuality. I loved it. There is tons of emotion in this story, and I fell in love with Sobehk first and then Khan right along with Fallon. As with "Victorious", the BDSM is moderate to hardcore, which I love, and never, ever feels gratuitous. This book is an excellent follow up.

I am wound up so tight about this book that my neck hurts !
the men in this book pissed me off so bad i started to sweat, i guess i am in no way a fan of this BDSM submissive shit , it made me sick and i wanted to beat the shit out of both the guys , the first sex scene was hot but after that i cringed at everything, and the making her call them "syr" i would have spit in his fuckin face , ughhh idk just not the book for me i guess maybe it was because she was so strong willed and they just broke her down so quickly idk it freaked my shit out bad, the rest of the story was good though i suppose , read at your own risk !!

These books are a trippy ride but worth it. Sci fi meets erotica and dark. Be prepared to suspend reality but they are worth it. Not your typical romance story.

The story of hacker Fallen and her captor Sobehk and her master Khan. This book was ok. Just an ok read for me though. There were both good and bad things.

Good things. I really liked the idea of an outlaw hacker in space. Coooool. Fallon has been physically augmented to be acrobatic and stealthy. On top of that she's a pro knife fighter and writes code others can't even see. This is perfect for me. Just my kind of story.

I loved her history. It reminded me strongly of The Ship Who Sang which is a favourite of mine. The idea of people being connected to computer systems in order to drive ships or space stations. I like Hawke's unique take on this with the Peter Pan analogy. I probably would have enjoyed this back story as a novel in its own right.

The world building. I liked the dirty station full of pipes and the later space station with trees and lights. I thought it was all well described with good ideas.

I liked Fallen's attitude. She was bolshy and nothing that happened to her squashed her independent spirit.

Bad things. The non-consent. It's very difficult with rape because whilst in reality it's abhorrent, I realise that it has a place in female fantasy. I think it has to be delivered in a certain way and I felt that in this instance, it just wasn't for me. So Fallen is captured and claimed. This claiming involves sex and medication. I just couldn't help feeling she'd basically been date raped. Add the fact that it's anal from day one and that pain seems to be part of it and you just had me wincing and wishing it was over. It just didn't press my buttons.

Aliens with two cocks. Really? It felt a bit ludicrous and it made the sex scenes so unreal that I felt removed from them. There was a lot of pain and biting etc which also started to, dare I say it, simply bore me after a while. I guess it just wasn't quite my thing.

The submission. I felt it was interestingly done. Basically Fallen is treated much like a domestic cat or dog. She is not allowed on the furniture. She has to ask to go to the bathroom. She eats out of a bowl on the floor and walk around on a leash. Right. I totally get the idea of being dominated but being treated like a dog really does not do it for me.

In closing, I enjoyed reading it but this just wasn't my cup of tea. For that reason I doubt I'll read the rest of the series.

This second installment of the "Interstellar Service and Discipline" series was certainly incredibly hot, but for me it didn't have much heat.

Isabeau, a code-breaker and thief, is a great character. She's smart, courageous, and assertive. Although she's captured by the Skeldhi, and is transformed via a DNA transfer into a human/Skeldhi hybrid, she's very much a survivor.

Sobehk and Khan, her captors, are friends of long-standing. Khan wants to have both Sobehk and Isabeau as lovers, but Sobehk initially resists. When they all finally do get together there's lots of steamy shower sex and extensive menage action. However, I never really warmed up to Khan. I think what did it for me was when he whips Isabeau as a 'punishment', but apparently goes too far and injures her (though not too badly). When Sobehk calls him on it, Khan refuses to acknowledge the extent of her injuries, and apparently feels no remorse...That's a big non-starter for me.

However, the plot keeps you reading along, and it is a fun read, so 3 stars.

Totally devoured this series in less than a week. They're like fine chocolate, oh so addictive.

Different characters this time around, but same basic setup as "Victorious Star", meaning m-m-f where the woman is entering an existing relationship between the men, and both men want to be top dog, but one bends to the other. The main difference being, both men are Skeldhi, so neither should naturally be the submissive. And, in this case, the gentlemen do switch roles, at least occasionally.

Strangely enough, in both cases I'm more enamored with the less dominant male. So much for the appeal of the alpha male. *sticks out tongue*

The whole series (three books at this point) is highly recommended.

“ Strangely enough, in both cases I'm more enamored with the less dominant male.”

Hmmm. Not so much less dominant male as the male more willing to switch AND the male more willing to bend to preserve the relationship.

You know, I read this one out of order-- I read Victorious Star first, then Lost Star...and then I got to this one. So the complaint I was going to make about Fallen Star kinda seeming repetitive, isn't exactly valid-- this book came earlier than I thought. So, nevermind.

I did like this one, though. I wish I could have known more about Fallon-- especially about how she feels that everyone leaves-- I think she states that in her thoughts a time or two.

Interestingly, I didn't find the sex in this one to be "over-the-top" and yeah, that's always going to be fairly subjective, anyway. What I can say, however, is that there were some sex scenes that I had a tough time imagining from the way they were described. I mean, you can only fill so many "holes" and there are only so many body parts-- even if there are more body parts in this story than usual. May I suggest a pull-out guide with cartoon figures to help you visualize...um, maybe not. hehehe.

May 2022 = DNF'd at 41%

The h is kidnapped and turned into a pet for two aliens (Skeldhis). They use her for rough sex, which she ends up liking. She's kept naked, is collared, led around by a leash, and trained to be a sex slave. It's basically a Master/slave relationship.

The MCs are masochists, sadists or both. There is a lot of giving or receiving pain during sex, including drawing blood from biting or scratching. There's nothing loving about it up until the point I DNF'd. I had no interest in continuing to see if that changes.

I got tired of waiting for a plot other than the above to start, and tired of skimming to get past the violent sex scenes.

🚫 Book added to my "book-not-for-me" bookshelf.

This is one of my favorite books. Fallen is a strong, capable female and yet still maintains her naivity.

I love Sobehk and Khan. 2 great dominate counterparts and I think perfect for Fallen.

Add the characters to a great story with steamy sex scene and a mystery to solve makes for a near perfect book.

I have read this book over and over and still love every minute. My only wish is that another book with Fallen someday appears. I think Morgan Hawke could create a whole new series just on the premise of Fallen Star.

I loved this book. For me the relationship worked much better than in Victorious Star, but it also had the same rich world building and erotic excitement of the previous book. My only criticism - or more accurately personal preference - would be less time spent on describing the physical world of clothing and setting, color, shape etc. and more on Skeldhi society and relationships.

This is the best of the series and I really loved it! The story has three strong intelligent characters involved in a slave/capture situation, with an intricate plot full of action. Not to mention plenty of hot sex that moves the plot forward. What's not to like? I found it extremely difficult to put down.

I loved everything about this book, except 1 thing.

The Cover. Not one of the three characters is human, and they don't look human, not like those on the cover, anyway. Come on, people, splurge for at least a reasonably well drawn cover.
