This is a historical reconstruction of the public disputation in Barcelona in 1263 A.D. The Catholic Church held these debates in the Dark/Middle Ages in attempts to convert Jews and/or intensify the religious fervor of the populace. This play provides the main arguments for and against Judaism and points out most of these debates circumscribed the arguments used. In this case the King had a somewhat Pagan bent and allowed fair play, however, the Dominicans didn't like that idea, esp. when their man lost. It is a short read and being a small cast the play could be performed in any community.
