Caught out in a snowstorm with her horse Smokey. Clare's only escape is a cave deep in the woods. Unfortunately for her, that cave is already inhabited. By 5 hungry three adorable pups, one injured male, and one very angry, very protective mother. And that mother knows just how the injured male, her brother, was injured. The same way her mate was killed - by a human just like Clare. It will take a miracle to make this situation anything other than a disaster. Could that miracle be in the form of the strange girl with the bright golden hair and eyes who seems to be able to speak with animals?
ANGELA DORSEY currently lives on Vancouver Island and is thoroughly enjoying the ocean breezes, awesome hiking, and lack of snow! In the past, she has lived in a number of small towns throughout B.C., and loved them all.
She loves hiking, traveling, and animals, and has a tendency to name her pets after things that remind her of her coastal home, such as Misty, Raven, and Cedar.
Angela writes novels, screenplays, and non-fiction, and has a number of literary publications (short stories, poems, and postcard stories) and articles published as well.
Sadly the last book in this series is my least favorite. 😔 Even when I read it back when it released I didn’t like it and never picked it up again until now.
Mostly I dislike this book for Clare—she’s generally an unlikable character with her anger and how she’s always yelling at people. Though she has reasons for being mad, it’s kept up for so long that it made liking her extremely hard, especially when she got mad at Angelica for really no reason. Smokey was an amazing horse though, and the wolf puppies were really cute.
The other reason I didn’t like it as much is because Angelica is not with Clare and Smokey much, though her side adventure in Iceland was fun and moving.
I did like how the wolf “villain” and Clare’s journeys did parallel each other though that doesn’t change my dislike of Clare for the most part. 😜
So while not my favorite book in the series by any means, I would still highly recommend reading the whole series as it’s super fun and adventurous. Really glad I reread them this year! 🥰
