My Best Friend's Billionaire Brother

Rate this book
Weston Myles has as many scandals to his name as zeroes in his bank account.
Our sizzling office romance should've stayed in the past where it belongs.

Especially since we kept our relationship a secret from his sister–my best friend.

But it’s been two years, and now my bestie is getting married.

She’s handpicked us to be the best man and maid of honor.

There’s no avoiding the sculpted billionaire grump when he shows up.

This arrogant alpha is my opposite in every way, but we share a common enemy.

So when that person threatens him with an ultimatum, I agree to Weston’s proposition.

Our fake marriage arrangement is temporary, but the friction between us is heating up.

And now, the congratulations from my doctor has me wondering if we can be more.

This was stupid but I read worse, so there is that I ‘suppose…..

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hero is the brother of heroine’s BFF. Two years prior, she was his assistant and they had a secret romance – one that I was not clear why it was “secret”. Hero was about to propose when his douche of a Father made him call things off with heroine. She quits and goes home to take care of her Mother and he is heartbroken - but not so heartbroken that he stops sleeping around or God forbid, go after her. Lol.

Two years later, heroine returns because her bestie is getting married and she is her maid of honor and he is the best man. H’s father threatens him to get married and have a kid with a woman of his choice or lose everything, so he asks heroine to marry him & have a kid in exchange of him paying her lots of millions and helping her sick mother. She accepts with the condition that she is not having any kids ever (why is never explained) and while she was hurt for a nanosecond that he threw her away before and didn’t fight for her, that lasts literally in one page or two before her lady parts take over and they are making out. No deep discussions of what happened in the past other then he was too "young" (🙄 a grown ass man CEO of a company was "too young"? And he grew up in 2 years? please!)

I should also mention, which is one of my biggest pet peeves, when story begins after his father gave him the ultimatum, he goes out with his friend Jax to a bar and there he sees an attractive blonde which his friend says she is trouble, but he doesn’t care and pursues her because he wants to “forget”. We don't get any deals on that scene but reader is left with the belief that he had sex with this woman and that is the night before he sees heroine again which is as I said, the quickest way to lose this reader. We also don't get a reason why his friend said she was "trouble" which happens a lot in this story with a lot of things left open-ended. But I digress….

Anyway, after they agree to the non-fake marriage, there’s a bit of drama with heroine’s sick mother & wedding plans with the sister/bff.

But then towards 95%, Hero’s father has him kidnapped and while the sister & his friends are worried & looking for him and telling heroine to stay put as she too may be in danger, the dimwit doesn’t care. She is more concerned about going to the hospital to be there when her mother wakes up then to worry about her husband/the man she loves who at that point could have been dead for all she knew or in grave danger because after all this IS a romance and we are supposed to believe these two are soulmates or some such shite, right? LOL

Whatever was going on, it didn’t matter. I needed to get back to my mama..

But wait…it seems she had a panic attack and the stress excused her behavior and made it alright. Uhm...yeah, NO! And did she do jumps and profess her undying love when he returns somewhat hurt, but at least alive? NOOOOO! . . She just stood there and said "oh good you're back. Did they hurt you?" 🥴. Just another normal day of getting kidnapped & not knowing what they would do to your loved one, but hey, at least the real love of her life is her Mom, right? (which as a mom myself, I wouldn’t mind if my kids choose me too! 😁). But then again, he DID choose his Dad over her in the past so maybe it’s payback? 🤷‍

Epilogue 5 yrs later with kids which for a heroine who said she never wanted to have kids ever, it was never explained exactly why she was opposed to them until she becomes pregnant and nothing is said afterwards unless you count the fact that it was briefly mentioned that her Father walked out of her and her mother’s life as her reasoning….

Safety.

I suppose it is considered safe because they were broken up and Hero was NOT celibate and he f***d around a lot but to me when the MCs are in a relationship & this is a 2nd chance, if they are not celibate then it is not safe. I am reading a love story of 2 people, not how well one or both can forget the other by f*****g OP.
And there was that brief mention of the OW in the bar in the beginning which turned me off..... Also, never mentioned if heroine was celibate or not.

No intimate scenes with OP
No condoms used
HEA but wrapped too quickly that we got no built-up of why they should remain married or explanation of past decisions, ILY exchanges or anything.

In other words, this is yet another lazy writing where folks put words on a page but fail to execute a plot or story. Second one this week and I think I reached my limit. Need a good old fashioned mystery or biography…..

I feel like I've only just starting to get back into romances after many years of not really reading too many, except for the odd historical romance. But it seems like I'm getting back into the genre and I'm doing so by finding myself some new authors to discover.

My Best Friend's Billionaire was a really fun book to read. I actually read it all in one go on a Saturday morning before going out. Once I started I was sucked in and couldn't stop.

This book hits so many points for me. I love a good play-boy/misunderstood billionaire trope, I love stores of falling in love with best friend's sibling and I love books with a sneaky plan that changes when true feelings are unmasked.

I don't want to get into too much more detail, I don't want to give away too many spoilers. I enjoyed the two main characters, Quinn and Weston. While they weren't totally complex characters there was plenty of depth with their backgrounds and were both relatable.

This is the second book I've recently found with a really down to earth billionaire character, and I am totally on board with that. That makes the story feel so much more real to me. I'm over all these arrogant billionaires that need to bribe or manipulate to have a fake marriage before falling in love (I think that's one of many reasons why I stopped reading contemporary romances some time ago). Yeah, there was a bit of plan involved to get the girl back in this book, but Weston was not totally using his money to force Quinn's hand.

This was such a fun read, definitely keen to read more from the author.

But their father Dominic has told Weston that he has three months to get married to be CEO of the company that both Weston and Lucy have worked for. Dominic set up Weston with a lady to marry, but Weston asked Quinn if she would be his fake wife to get his da off his back. Quinn doesn’t like how Weston’s father talks to him that she said that they are already engaged. Weston jokes with Jax about him marrying them and Jax makes sure he can the next day. Will they go from fake to real or not?.

Weston and Quinn's Story . . .

Quinn Miller was Lucy's best friend and had a brief romantic interlude with Lucy’s brother, Weston, never telling Lucy about it. Now Weston’s father is demanding that Weston get married for the sake of the company and his father will be providing women for him to choose from! This is not what Weston wants, so he arranges with Quinn to agree to a fake marriage and pregnancy in order to not lose his CEO position which his father is using to force him into this (but not with Quinn). Their attraction and chemistry is still strong and Quinn wants to help him any way she can. Will their plan work? Will they be able to be married before Weston’s father can force him to marry someone else?

There is so much more going on in this busy story line! Lots of surprises coming your way, so don’t miss this one! Even the characters are surprised by the breaking news!

My Best Friend’s Billionaire Brother by Anna Martin is a quick read with a few captivating twists.

Weston is intriguing: A wealthy playboy who falls in love with the wrong woman—Quinn. In the beginning, Weston seems to be a bit of a wimp. However, as the book evolves, he finds his backbone and stands up to his tyrannical father.

Quinn is loyal. She goes along with their fake marriage and pregnancy to help Weston maintain his CEO status. I enjoyed her mother, Muriel. She’s a sassy, down-to-earth mom who loves her daughter.
Weston’s sister, bodyguards, and parents add depth to the story. Jax gives the novel a touch of humor.

The plot, characters, and scenes are well crafted. In addition, the romantic scenes are tastefully written—four out of five on the spice meter. Five stars.

This book could have been good, but it's a victim of lazy writing. There is so much drama and a lot of missing pieces and holes in the story. I feel like it was a daytime soap drama. Towards the end, the female lead talks about how so many things (basically the whole book) all happened in 2 weeks. Maybe 2 months would be a believable timeline but not two weeks. The book is a quick read, but the quality isn't worth the cost unless you can read it for free. Then there is a couple of hours of your life you wasted reading it. I have read other books by this author, and the quality was a lot different than this one. It makes me not want to waste my time reading the rest of the series.

Quinn was Lucy's best friend. So when Weston had been with Quinn, she felt really bad for never telling her, but Weston was pushed to end things because of his father and she didn't want anything to happen to their friendship.

After years being apart their feelings were the same. So when Westons father tells him he has to marry by New Year's, can he convince Quinn to be his fake bride and live happily ever after with a beautiful family.

💞 can't wait to read more from Anne Martin.

Loved this second chance romance. Weston is the CEO of his family's company. His father is a control freak who has already interfered with Weston's life, now he is at it again with an decree that Weston marry and produce an heir by New Year's Eve. When Lucy, Weston's sister, arranges for her best friend, Quinn, to be her maid of honor, Weston and Quinn reconnect with Weston proposing a mutually beneficially arrangement. Lots of twists and turns make for a truly enjoyable read.

Quinn's friend Lucy is getting married, and her brother is coming back for it. Quinn and Weston kind of have a history and when she sees how his dad treats him, she agrees to be in a fake relationship with him. However, neither expected to have real feelings get involved with the agreement. Will this turn into something more?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

crazy good

Good for Quinn keeping the rich, handsome billionaire Weston Myles on his toes. When Quinn left Seattle with her heart in tatters she never expected to reunite with her college bestie as her maid of honor or see said friend’s brother Weston again. But in chaotic fashion they rekindle their love as they try to thwart Weston’s father’s treacherous plans. Lots of good byplay, excitement and passion.

I enjoyed Quinn and Weston's story. The attraction and chemistry between is there. Their relationship is not a bed of roses and is sometimes opposed by his family but both do not give up and fight for each other and their love. This was a wonderful story and highly recommended.

This was a rollercoaster: a lot of emotions, a lot of twists and turns.
My feeling while reading were of whole spectrum: I hated Weston in the beginning, I felt sorry for Quinn, I hope for them, I laugh, I shed a tear….
Was a real pleasure! The characters were a hoot!
And now I want more of them, please…..

It is a really cute story with a good plot and characters but the relationship between Weston and Quinn wasn't clarified at the end. Before the epilogue, it seemed like Quinn was on the edge of making a declaration but didn't. Thankfully the epilogue helped close their HEA.

Wonderful

Quinn and Weston. Meant to be, but someone tears them apart. Finding your way back to the one that got away is never easy and can these two make it work another time. Or will they be ripped apart again.

Excellent short story. I loved that Weston never stopped loving his "bunny" and that she was so unselfish and loyal to those she loved. There were some twists I didn't see coming so that made it even better. Can't wait to read more by this author.
