Great background on recent Madison and Wisconsin history from the viewpoint of a news editor. Interesting insights and enjoyable personal stories.

Watchdog is a collection of articles, essays, investigative pieces and the like from the former editor of The Isthmus, Madison WI's independent weekly paper. Although his political slant on issues is predictable (he's a passionate Progressive), he does a fine job of presenting complex issues from multiple angles. From the amusing "The Media's Acid Test" to the poignant "Free At Last", Watchdog is interesting, captivating at times, and left me wishing we had more journalists out there like Lueders.
