This is a fabulous book. Blake creates scenarios that while obviously fiction are still plausible, characters you care about, and best of all realistic relationships. When you're in these character's minds, following from their point of view, their actions make sense. Analee's conflict between GAMA and the Resistance is believable. One side helped her, healed her, while the other as far as she knew was trying to destroy that. How much it blows her away when she learns what's going on? I'd be to! As someone who read earlier versions, this book has come a long way and it's come brilliantly while still maintaining so much. I still find myself just as interested in Nighthawk as Analee is. I'm still laughing at the silly jokes between characters who are obviously friends, and I'm still right there getting it and following with these people.

When I've described the book to people before, I don't think I've done it justice. Lightning Spliced is about coming in to independence and learning about yourself and others. Or that's what I feel at least. It's also about a fun bunch of people trying to survive and get back at those that manipulated their very code.

I had the honor of knowing Zellie Blake, she was one of my dear friends from college. We attended Longwood University together. I was one of her Beta readers so I had read this novel long before she had it published and saw many revisions of it.

I was so excited to read her final published version and I have to say it came out FANTASTIC! Zellie Blake takes the reader on an emotionally charged journey with her main character, Analee, as she struggles to choose sides in the battle between GAMA and the Resistance. Although I was already familar with Analee's story, I still greatly enjoyed reading it. I still felt the pain and confusion Analee goes through as she comes to a realization of the truth behind GAMA. I also just love Zellie's descriptions of her characters-I could almost smell Dr Gandon's "egg salad breath" as he spoke. A great story by a great author!
