Bridger steals things. He has kept out of prison by following two never work with a partner, and, never work with the mob. When an ex-girlfriend talks him into stealing a four-million-dollar coin collection, he ends up framed for murder, and on the run from the mob and the police.
James Patrick Hunt is the author of several books and e-books. He was born in Surrey, England in 1964 and graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in aerospace engineering in 1986. He graduated from Marquette University Law School in 1992. He lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he writes and practices law.
Bridger reminded me of Parker in the Donald Westlake (aka Richard Stark)books--a crook who has his own set of rules to stay alive at any cost. As is usual in these books Bridger is set up to take a fall when a house robbery goes bad. Bridger works his way through the problem with fast talking, a gun, and lots of chutzpah. Escapist reading at its best.
I love Mr. Hunt's writing style. Short and to the point. I think this might be the first book in the Bridger series. He is a good hero, knows his limits. He plans his heists. He moves to violence only when he is forced to do so.
I recommend him for a good, fast read. He will keep you guessing.
Fantastic writer! Hunt's characters are complex, taciturn, tough and smart. Never a false note in Hunt's books. One of my best recent mystery finds hands down!
