Recently widowed, Tracy came to the forested state and old mansion left to her by her dead husband’s grandmother. Tracy and her husband had shared photography for many nature books; she wonders if she can work on her own. Instead of peace, she’s caught between two men, one a game warden, one a hunter of women as well as animals.
A woman arrives at a Southern plantation mansion which she has inherited after her husbands death, to meet various shifty relatives and maybe, romance, but also....a ghost! Or could somebody be trying to terrorize her to get their hands on the property? What do you think?
Readable enough. The heroine is a professional photographer which is a nice change, but it is primarily a device to keep her at the house and in danger, because she "must " get enough wildlife photos to complete her book. But it was nice to have a woman with a career as the main character for a change.
It was pretty good. Was set at Caddo Lake which is just East of my hometown, in fact my hometown (Longview,TX) was mentioned in the book as well as other area towns. Being called "Night Hunters" I was hoping for a werewolf/shapeshiffter edge but it wasn't.
