I read this book for Professor Kimball's sports psych class at Northeastern and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a runner, but this book made me feel like I had the ability to go out and run, and also the mental strength to pull it off.

I found the mantras included really helpful, as well as the imagery script for running the Boston Marathon.

If I ever get motivated enough to pick up running regularly, I'll definitely refer to Kimball's text as a guide.

Solid advice rooted in sports psychology for developing mental toughness during marathon training and racing. The Grateful Dead trope didn't do it for me but I appreciate Dr. Kimball's passion for the band and the role it's played in his running. Good tactics for soothing a nervous mind.
