I love historical romances with sexy alpha ship captains and virgin stowaways. Captain Drew Price is a man of discipline and runs a tight ship. When he publicly discovers a female has been impersonating a boy, working and living among the men of his crew, he is forced to punish her in front of his crew.
Julianna isn't a whore, but a lady of proper breeding. She's run a way from home, from a father that hopes to marry her off to the highest bidder. Just a week from an American port and she was discovered and facing public punishment from the Captain.
I loved this writer's style and the insight into the Captain's thoughts provided to the reader via his daily journal. Most erotica has no plot, or a lack of character development but Sinclair created characters that were strong yet vulnerable.Drew was a passionate man, but struggled to keep a tight reign on that passion. A passion for Julianna that overwhelmed him.
Julianna was a naive virgin, but she was a passionate woman. This story was very erotic yet romantic. I highly recommend this short story.

Now that's ....refreshing(?) a book that ends with a blow job.
This was actually a really dynamic, dense, detailed and action packed short story. These are the types of short stories I live for. Nice and short but they feel so involved and complex.
I am also a sucker for a someone-appearing-as-someone-they're-not plot. My favourites are boys that dress like girls or girls that dress like boys. There was a little of that here, so that was a pleasant surprise.
I usually don't like historical romances, so it really says something about this tale that I not only read it but enjoyed it enough to give it such a high rating.
I also liked the journal entries. They were a refreshing way to let the reader see the hero's first-person thoughts after certain events. I thought that maybe the journal would be apart of the ending, like the heroine would fin it, read it and it would solve the conflict - but that didn't happen and it made me like the inclusion of the journal entries even more.

Erotica with morals! I love it! Easily one of my favorite erotica stories! It is shorter in length/novella, but is not lacking in plot, character development, or fun! Julianna Burton is traveling on a ship bound for America disguised as a boy in order to be reunited with her betrothed, Jeffery. Julianna is found out and Captain Drew Price has to make an example out of her- by keeping her his prisoner and punishing her by having her “entertain” him. However, Julianna can only do so much “entertaining” as she is saving herself for her betrothed. What is Julianna to do when she realizes her passion for the Captain has turned into love?

Julianna and Drew's story was fast-passed and very steamy. It was a short story, yet a lot happen and there is drama, pirates, smut, smut, smut and again smut. Additionally, the ending was sooo sweet! I absolutely enjoyed it!

This is the first erotic novel of my list and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The blurb alone told me that this was not going to be an innocent story. This was going to be hot, sexy and ravishing. Would it though have a solid enough story behind it that I can look at it as more than just a smut book?
Happily, in this case, I can say yes. While this book was definitely heated, there was a sweet love story carrying it along. The plot is brisk and with purpose with no unneeded characters or overblown dramatic prose. Almost erotic fairy tales, Ms. Sinclair did a wonderful job of making my toes curl, warming my heart, but not drown me in lurid mushiness that makes me nauseous. After this first taste of the truly erotic genre I have hope for my reading delights ahead. I would not hesitate in recommending Ms. Sinclair’s book’s to anyone whose reading pallet yearns for some heated whispers and angst filled hearts.

"Captain's Price" is an erotic historical novella-length tale set on the high seas. An innocent girl disguises herself as a young boy and stows away on the captain's ship to gain passage to America and reunite with her childhood love. The strong-willed Captain throws her in his cabin to punish her, protect her from his crew, and tries to keep his hands off her while exploring all the bases without hitting third. Because you know, taking someone's virginity is nowhere near on par as some anal. Hee hee. Good thing the Captain has a daddy complex holding him back.
I really enjoyed reading this book - the alternating first-person point-of-view narrative was different, and the short, action-filled sequences kept the shifting narrative from becoming stale. Ms. Sinclair impressed me, and I will definitely read another tale from this author. Kudos.

An historical novella with a very readable quality--delightful sea captain and a beautiful stowaway, seeking to reach her "true love" in America. Hot loving and a great deal of angst on both their parts--how do they handle what is happening between them in light of the goal of reaching a man to whom she made promises two years earlier? Not a long work but packs lots of good reading into its pages.

Captains Price was short but dynamic. I really liked the theme; who wouldn't want a ship Captain.
Julianna was running to America away from her father and his arranged marriage for her. She had to work as a man since she pretended being one and everything was great until one fatal mistake caused her to show that she was a woman and not one of the men.
Captain Drew ran a tight ship he did not like to be taken for a fool and he had two females playing him a fool. Julianna was a woman who he would love to control but she was heading toward a man he didn't know or could confront, yet.
Their love story began with Drew humiliating Julianna as she humiliated him in front of his crew by stowing away as a man. As his boldness got to be more than he thought she could tolerate, Julianna surprised him by not being repulsed, but wanting his attention any way she could have it. She tried to stay loyal to Jeffrey but as the days passed, memory of Jeffrey diminished in her mind and Drew grew to be the man of her dreams. When a pirate ship threatens them, it was Julianna that came to the men’s rescue. She knew what needed to be done and did it.
Giving Julianna time when they landed was the only way that Drew could be sure that she wanted him, not because of what they shared, but because her heart wanted him. Knowing that Drew was the man of her dreams after all, she made her choice after learning that Jeffrey had married and that what they shared was a girl’s dream not the dream of a woman.
This story has everything anyone could want: danger, love, deception, and a heroine that isn't afraid to fight for what she wants and a hero who allows her time to discover herself.

The Captain's Price is the story of a heroine who escapes an arranged, loveless marriage by stowing her way on a ship to America. During her voyage, Julianna disguises herself as a male crew member of the ship. With only a week left of the month long voyage, Julianna is discovered and the Captain must claim her as his own in order to protect her. The passion that ignites between Captain Drew and Julianna forces Drew to face his ultimate fears. This story reminded me of Kresley Cole’s Captain of Pleasures. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys a quick, light historical-romance.

Me gustó mucho
La portada no promete mucho, y honestamente no esperaba nada más que un libro erótico con historia básica pero fue mucho mejor.
Apenas pasa las 100 páginas, pero la historia es interesante, sencilla en cuanto a qué no tiene giros locos, pero es buena y con personajes interesantes que no son buenos ni malos sino que tienen un buen balance.
La historia se desarrolla en el siglo 18, Julianna es una joven inglesa de clase alta, cuyo padre quiere forzarla a un matrimonio arreglado pero ella no quiere y se viste de hombre y junto a su criada abordan un barco con destino a estados unidos, dónde Julianna espera reunirse con su amigo de la infancia con quién tuvo una relación infantil y quién está en Estados Unidos trabajando para volver por ella y casarse, el problema es que en el barco Julianna abofetea a un marino, lo que descubre que en realidad es una mujer, los barcos de esas fechas no eran lugares armoniosos y los marinos no eran caballeros, y de inmediato se lanzan sobre Julianna, pero el capitán del barco Drew, la "protege", a su forma, la toma para el y hacen un trato ella lo entretendra sexualmente pero el promete respetar la virginidad de Julianna, quien le cuenta sobre el hombre que la espera, sin embargo Julianna no es una virgen aburrida, es apasionada y le gusta Drew, así que sus sesiones juntos son bienvenidas por ella aunque al recordar su prometido se siente culpable y trata de distanciarse emocionalmente de Drew, así que la relación se desarrolla entre encuentros sexuales y conversaciones, es un tira y afloja por parte de ambos, hasta que finalmente Julianna se da cuenta que se ah enamorado, Drew realmente lo acepta desde el inicio pero sigue mostrándose frío y superficial, los dos enfrentan una amenaza mayor juntos , pero al final el decide darle a ella la oportunidad de ir tras su primer amor y Julianna lo hace para descubrir que la vida cambia y las personas también, el final es bueno y feliz.
Las escenas hot son muy buena y variadas, llevan ese de menos a más que no es común y son muy frecuentes, lo único que me lleva a quejarm es que la historia fuera tan corta .

The story follows Julianna, who is trying to reach her love, but ends up in a compromising situation with Captain Price. She must barter with him, and the price is steep. The setting is primarily the ship, which adds to the feeling of being confined and the building intensity between the two main characters.
I was drawn into the complex dynamic between Julianna and Captain Price. Sinclair does a good job of exploring the push and pull between them, as well as Julianna's internal conflict. The story is definitely steamy, and the author doesn't shy away from the erotic elements. The pacing was quick, making it a fast read. As this is a novella, I felt the author did a great job of delivering an actual story in such a short amount of time.
However, at times, I wanted a little more depth in the backstories of the characters. I would have liked to spend a little more time with Julianne and the Captain once they were on land to truly experience a more in-depth HEA. But I also acknowledge the limitations of the novella format.

I got this little story a long time ago and just got around to reading it. Don’t know if the author is still around. Some of her other stories are super spicy. This one was more sweet than spicy but was still quite entertaining.
