This is a cool book covering a few different forms of fortune telling. It was much more detailed than I expected it to be. It should be noted that these are primarily European forms of fortune telling. Some of these methods might be used in other cultures as well, but the information/history provided definitely feels Euro centric.

This is a small book, yet it is heavy with knowledge. Enjoyed every page. Love love the cover. Good read and an excellent addition to my circus carnival bookshelf.

Definitely a good primer on several different methods of fortune telling. Great for a beginner, but left me wanting a lot more info than Kemp supplies the reader with.

The Fortune-Telling Book by Gillian Kemp is first and foremost, beautiful. The deep purple cover and new topic pages are bold. The overall feel of the book is one of an old-world charm that looks like its been around for ages, and the random hand-written notes just add to the general appeal.

The contents are varied, covering everything from cartomancy (playing cards)to bay leaf magic; from crystal ball readings to dice; candle magic to hydromancy. I mainly got this book for the section on tasseography (tea leaf reading) however, I found the additional topics interesting.

I was intrigued by the idea of fortune telling using tea leaves and this book can give you the information you need (it's like an introduction)
